I have done the tail lift many times. It is not possible to make the plane nose over! At least at zero speed. And my plane doesn't have the gear extensions. I have done a wheel landing and kept the tail up all through taxi and positioning at my grass tie down. Not a chance of nosing over. If I had a lot more than 85hp, it might become an issue.
Very pretty Cessna 140. Regarding the tail-in-the-air technique with brakes, down elevator and throttle? Just because you CAN doesn't mean you SHOULD. The 120/140's CG is very close to the mains compared to most taildraggers. The slightest wind, change in terrain or misjudgement/delayed or improper control movement could result an expensive propstrike incident. Why take the risk?

There are shorter take-offs on youtube, but for a 140, thats pretty good!

I am a 120 owner. Great job! The brakes on power.. lift tail...is a "delicate" technique.
Nice job of getting the 140 off the ground in a short distance. Do you know how many feet it took?

very VERY good point--occasionally sanity prevails.

@LJDRVR It's called improving and maintaining skills and getting to know the plane. Something few Rec "pilots" do.
