  • This is awesome!

I want this for my motorcycle, and automated by the bike's turn signals.

Time for geek mode and google.

  • Gay

  • @trevt99 very happy indeed

  • I like it! It's so cool! I like electronics and bikes, and your biking jacket is a very good idea. I just got my first arduino and I'm starting.

  • thats very cool, but I hope those were on your shoulders area to be much wider than in middle of your back.

  • I want that lol

  • AWESOME

  • I love it, I am going to do an underwear for my wife with hazard lights and a beep when she is backing up.

  • not legit

  • wonderful idea :) my only concern is that because the fabric bends, the lights dont appear to be in an arrow shape and are more a glowing line... perhaps if you put them through something more rigid and sew that into the fabric as well?

  • nice, but a lot of drivers will be distracted..."wth is that?"

  • that is really cool

  • not cool

  • Just loved it :-). I Invariable use a bag over my back when biking, but built that system by it self is great!.

  • Just loved it :-)

  • Great idea!

Too bad nobody pays attention to turn signals.......or any other signals :(

  • Wooow what a great idea and design, congratulations!

  • rave

  • where do you get one? I would love to ride with it!!!

  • I love this! I think it could be VERY useful!

  • It's sleek looking and all (I'd prefer it in a brighter color though), however where I bike the law requires me to hold my arm out indicating turns and stops, making the jacket rather moot, since the reflex sleeves are already signalling when I do the legal signals with my arms.

  • At night, any bright colored jacket (rather than black) with reflective strips would serve you much better than this gimmicky low visibility jacket.

  • I love it. That feedback is just great

  • Great idea. But the lights should be amber. I don't know if various laws would apply to a jacket but drivers are expecting amber and will register it more automatically. The more standard a signal is the better.

Also, since the signals are so close to each other it might be better if the pattern were more pointy than curved.

Although then it might look like a road sign, unless there is also a red taillight on the bike or jacket to show the center of the bike and rider.

  • Where can I get one? Visibility is a big issue for me on my motorscooter.

  • Pure genius! I hope you take this to market and become a millionaire.

  • They have to peddle this crap somewhere so it's just a matter of time till some state rep is "convinced" that it's a good idea.

I know lots of bikers who have red lenses on their turn signals. Amber or Red is acceptable on the rear, not white. DOT my ass.

  • Fantastic!

  • Nice !

  • im wondering, how do you wash it?

  • @arxidoskulo White is much brighter than amber. There's nothing wrong with white turn signals. Yes, I have seen cars in America with European or Japanese lights on them making them white. HOWEVER this isn't a car, it's a jacket, making your point moot. The vehicle in question, a motorcycle, would still have amber signals. There's no idiotic research, what I quotes was strictly DOT code. That said, this is a very good design. You're the dipshit, pal.

  • What's wrong with extending your arm to signal which way you're turning?

  • Because your arm does not glow!

  • Cute/Awesome! Are designs posted somewhere? Are there plans to make this available for retail?

  • Very nice idea. I lowed this. Thank you.

  • You're a genius hottie!!

  • Love how it's controlled like Spider-Man's webbing. :)

  • This is a great invention for Night runners too!!! Awesome!!!

  • That's great, but 2 questions:

    1. Why make the jacket black? Why not some color more visible at night?

    2. If the jacket misfunctions how would you know? You can't see the signals on your back.

  • If each signal is wired in its own branch of a series-parallel circuit, when one LED burns out it will break that branch of the circuit and the wrist indicator would not flash. Without seeing the schematic I can't be sure, but that is my guess.

  • Light-Emitting Diodes are wonderful.

  • where does one find a girl like this?

  • is it posible to get a lot of jacket comunicate between each other?

  • you are so sexy :)

  • You are my hero, you are super cute too.

I am saving up some cash for the Pedal though.

You should consider a quick deed patent and then make a kit if not even a clothing line.

  • That was neat!

  • wonder why the LEDs aren't amber/yellow

  • White's brighter.

  • yea, but it's illegal in most jurisdictions. Now white with a amber cover over it, that's probably acceptable.

  • Actually it's not. There's no law (i hope) that says you can't wear white turn signals. I assume this jacket is to complement a bike's existing signals. A street legal bike is GOING to have to have turn signals, period.

  • ummm, have you heard of federal motor vehicle safety standard 108. It outlaws the use of white turn signals, not just on cars, but also on other vehicles fitted with them.

  • Standard No. 108 - Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment - Passenger Cars, Multipurpose Passenger Vehicles, Trucks, Buses, Trailers, (except pole trailers and trailer converter dollies), and Motorcycles (Effective 1-1-68 for vehicles 2,032 mrn (80 or more inches) in width and Effective 1-1-69 for all other vehicles)

This standard specifies requirements for original and replacement lamps, reflective devices, and associated equipment. Its purpose is to reduce traffic crashes and---

  • deaths and injuries resulting from traffic crashes, by providing adequate illumination of the roadway, and by enhancing the conspicuity of motor vehicles on the public roads so that their presence is perceived and their signals understood, both in daylight and in darkness or other conditions of reduced visibility

    ---

So wait, genius, where in there does it say you can't have white turn signals on your JACKET? It applies to passenger cars, trucks, buses, trailers, and motorcycles. Not people.

  • white is for vehicles going to the opposite direction as you. jackass

and the orange light is for vehicles that go in the same direction as you

therefore white turn lights is a flawed design.

  • Not in America, you jackass. American cars and bikes are required to have amber turn signals on every side. White turn lights is a perfectly fine design for America, and since that is where the inventor resides, that is it's intended use. Do some research before you open your mouth.

  • actually, in North-Carolina you can have red indicators on the back of your vehicle.

plus, i don't know any country/state where a bike is required to have any indicators at all.

so my conclusion is that white indicators are a lot better than no indicators.

  • you mean american motorcycles?

  • "white is for vehicles going to the opposite direction as you"

for lights, but not for indicators.

as far as i know, orange is for vehicles going the opposite direction and orange or red is for vehicles going the same direction.

  • you guys are saying it's a good idea cuz the chick's hott

still is a great idea, or you could buy one of those $2000 bikes with computers and turn signals built in

  • good point

  • Love the idea!! now I have to fggure out how to incorporate his on my leather jacked or vest for my motorcycle and still look like a hardcore biker! hehe

  • fuck ya... that is amazing good thinking.

  • Beautiful!
