  • @handyreis oh shut up

  • Nice to see a good cop

  • I'm sorry, can someone show me where "God" is during this? All I see is humans saving the life of a young man. They're the heroes. They should be thanked and praised.

  • @ssharpie17 Lets hope that one day neither one of us gets trapped in the back-seat of a burning car.

I know for sure that despite whatever you type on chat box´s or comments on the video channels on the Internet, if it gets that close to death God is the name you will be calling in a situation like that. I know I will, but I am a Christian so no surprise there, as He his my Lord and Savior whom I praise until the day I die.

May God bless and protect you all your life!

  • @BadMix fuck you. god does NOT exist.

  • i love seeing cops doing good

  • It's videos (And actions) taken by simple citizens that give me still a glimmer of hope that the end of this world is still far in the future.

  • Actually this looks these guys may actually be doing more harm than good? Obviously, if the car is on fire you have to get the occupants out at any cost. I learned to cover a fire, not fan the fire, like these folks are doing in probably third grade. It's great to stop and help, but only if you know what you are doing. Even the most basic first responder course would cover incidents like this so you know what to do in an emergency.

  • I'm not saying science disapproves that there is or isn't a god, on the opposite science can prove alot of things, while nothing can prove there is a god. Just saying to that guy that said "even though wind can't be seen, it's still there, and so is god" is two completely different things, since 1 of them is scientifically explainable, the other not.

  • @apox555 very good point. I think the mother should be extremely grateful to the trooper and others who saved her son. And if it is in her faith, I see it ok for her to thank God that her son was kept alive long enough for those brave people to save her son. Thanks for being kind in your comments unlike other assholes out there

  • @apox555 there is no man in the sky or anyone resembling the bible in any way that is a lie, but there might be a higher power.

  • Yes, Awesome job Troopers!!

  • Aside from my diatribe, those officer and motorists are heroes. This is how we should react when one of our fellow man is in danger.

  • The difference is that air is proven to exist. It's purely a mixture of different molecules of a wide variety of gases, and the wind you feel is just the uneven heating of the earth's surface making high and low pressure zones. You see, this stuff can be explained. Religion on the other hand, is a collective mental illness. But please, do have personal faith, and believe in a god, if it makes you feel better. Just don't put the good action of some people upon a fantasy figure, it's disrespectful

  • that nice

  • it almost looks like theyre beating that guy up :P

"stop hiding in that burning car you asshole! there got you out, now we're gonna show you some real beating!"

Nah but good job on those guys, had it took any longer and the poor fellow had burned to death

  • NO MATTER HOW BAD YOU THINK COPS ARE >>>> they still risk their lives to help us<<<<<<<<< TGANK YOU TO ALL POLICE.

  • Electric cars, please!!!!

  • i always wonder if trying to take their burning clothes off would be more effective...?

  • Here's a tip for putting out fire like that, don't 'fan' it, pat it down.

  • Police officer really didn't do much

  • wow... so he's finally doing his job...

  • what you didnt see is the car blowing up 5 seconds after he moved the guy

  • dat nigga dead!!!!!!

  • Guys.

You never, ever use fire extinguishers on people.

The chemical in them can cause people to go blind.

  • @Xepato I rather have someone using fire exthinguisher on me then burn to dead.

  • @tshirttime84 But what if you're in the middle of a highway?

    D:>

  • @Xepato Then you can still use it? Dont see why that is a problem. And there is always a fire ext in some car especially in a trooper car.

  • @tshirttime84 I'm not sure what's better, getting severely burned, or getting permanently blind... :/ Both seem bad enough.

  • @Xepato hah! if you put it that way, im not sure either what i want. But the guy was still on fire on his legs when they pulled him away from the car, so using the fire ext. on his legs wouldnt mind. But to answer your question I would go for severly burned, because you can still live your live like how you want. If you are blind I think your whole life must be different and very hard. Even if you are burned in your face, people will look at you but you just have to get over it. Being blind sux.

  • Comment removed

  • @tshirttime84 True, true. :D (Though some of your limbs COULD be dysfunctional for the rest of your life...whatever. Being blind sucks. Especially if you know how the world looks like. :/ )

  • @Xepato exactly, if you dont know how it looks like you can just imagine everything is nice and stuff, but knowing how the world looks like and then go blind must be horrible. Oh and I want to say thank you for the mature way you are talking. At least some people on youtube still know how to talk in a mature way. Most replies I get on my posts are from a bunch of losers that insult people just for the fun of it.

  • @tshirttime84 Thank you. :D I used to be a noob on a forum. >_> That was years ago, though. I made a new account so people wouldn't know who I was. Yes. That's how nooby I used to be.

  • Yay police! And dont forget about the innocent bystanders who were just as brave and weren't doing their job or trying to be heroes but just doing the same thing anyone with a little bit of courage would have done! Yay police!

  • SGT Perkins deserves a medal !

  • the one thing he did wrong rip clothes from the victims body. that isn't going to help the vic it will tear the flesh right off. uh fire extinguisher?

  • Ive got 2 6kg powder fire extinguisher's in my car. one for cabin (can be triggered from outside) and one for such events like this. If my secound extinguisher cant turn off a car burning, it will at least delay it.

  • Just a note to anyone who comes upon a situation like this, don't try to beat out the flames as they did, cover the burning material with heavy clothing or blankets and leave it there long enough to smother it. They did an awesome job, but you have to leave the material on a bit longer to smother it. Beating out flames works well with grass fires not clothing.

  • Those are heroes everyone. And many say there aren't many of them left in this world.

  • That's some first class, grade-A hero shit right there.

  • I don't understand. I thought that the police was gonna beat the crap out of the injured driver and then I thought they would Taser him...damn. Why are the police being so nice?

  • @zcg3 You are obviousley not that smart. Let me learn you a fast lesson. The cops are here to help people, and maintain law and order. They are not here to herash people.

  • @simonmaersk Damn dude...you're such a dumbass. Don't you know sarcasm when you see it?

  • @zcg3 Well, you never know, a lot of people writes crap like that and are serious.

  • @simonmaersk What people don't understand is that we need to shut up & obey or retaliate fully. Since the majority are too scared to actually do something instead of saying something, then we need to just shut up & obey. I would love to see one million people storm the White House wall and confront other corrupt governments...including the police departments! Some people think as to "if ya can't beat then join em...".

Always remember...appeasement makes the aggressor more aggressive!

  • He looks pretty dead to me. And if he's not he'll be majorly scarred for the rest of his life

  • This is my son we are so thankful for the officer, motorist and first and foremost GOD. The Burn and trauma team at springfield memorial hospital are the greatest ever. After 27 skin grafts internal injuries and countless other surgeries he is back in college WIU after working his way through therapy a year in community college he's back to doing him. We love our son very much oh and he just crossed with a fraternity. Thank you all stay positive and remember we are but one moment away LIVE!

  • @daprofitz Thank God! I'm glad to hear your son did OK...

  • @daprofitz Ehm, wouldn't it be more appropriate to first and foremost thank the officer, and motorist, then you can thank your god afterwards... I didn't see any god pulling your son out of that burning vehicle.

  • @apox555 Damm you are really ignorant!!

  • @P3REiiRANO If anything, religious people are ignorant. Ignorant to the fact that the world goes by every day, without any god actually ever being anything else than a fairytale for weakminded people.

  • @apox555 You are right when stating about religious people. I am not a religious person, I am a true believer in the one and only true GOD, JESUS CHRIST!! And yes, many people say that he may not exist because they don't see him, but just like the air that is clear and invisible he is real. We can't see air but we can feel it. The only difference though is that FAITH is needed. And unfortunately many people lack FAITH.

  • @P3REiiRANO Dude, get real. You believe in your Jesus Christ because it's easy to believe in him and makes your life that much more bearable. Your primary reason for believing in the New Testament God is purely for convenience matters. You're afraid of dying and having your body decompose and disappear so you've decided to believe in this idea of an afterlife and the promise of eternal bliss and love.

Wake up already. There's no reason to believe in your god more than the Norse Gods.

  • @apox555 stfu

  • @andrewsapirate why? Science is too far fetched for you?

  • @apox555 I'm a paramedic. I have had plenty of science courses. Biology 1&2, Anatomy and Phys 1&2, Physics (struggled with that a bit), OB (obstetrics and gynecology), chemistry and so on. I have taken my fair share of science courses and all I'm saying is, if you think science is evidence of the non existence of a God, it's not. I work with doctors on a daily basis, and many of whom are faithful people. Some docs will be the first to tell you that science doesn't disprove anything.

  • @daprofitz Thank you for letting people know. I'm so glad he's doing well. You are very brave people.

  • @daprofitz Sre you fucking kidding me? "God"? "GOD"? I didnt see "God" on that tape doing shit! Your son owes his life to Good, brave, hardworking HUMAN BEINGS not some imaginary friend. i fell bad for your sn, having to put up with such profoundly stupid, ignorant, and clearly not very grateful people like you.

  • @PsychoticIntrusions you heartless piece of shit. God is what THEY believe in and they believe that God let him live. there are people who believe in different cultures and believe in God. not everybody has to believe you thinking which is that God is some imaginary friend. pieces of fucking shit like you dont deserve to live. daprofitz's son almost DIED and daprofitz is thankful of the officers and God.

  • We had a State Trooper here a while back get pretty badly burned pulling a gal from a burning car that wrecked right in front of him. His belt buckle got hot enough to brand his stomach when he bent over if I remember correctly.

  • If the car wasn't there this would totally look like police brutality.

  • omg what happened to the person on fire? I hope she/he is ok!

  • remember, if your in a situation like this, suffocate fire with jacket / something

dont hit the victim with a jacket like some do at this vid, doing that will feed the fire.

  • man i am so excited to join the force.. i always had a soft spot for helping. I hope i join the other hero's that make a difference in the community. :)

  • its kinda funny how the sgt. didn't have a working fire ext. then he gets another one and when he comes back they already got the fire of the man. lol but its really great to see the community come to together and help. even with the troopers!

  • omg, how horrible. I hope that poor person was OK.

  • @Toni7859 I dont think so. Look at the end. The put the coat over the body. Good job from the police without a happy ending.

  • Holly Crap, That was a hell of a site seeing that poor person on fire,

  • Awesome job Troopers!! Police do this type of thing daily, but the people badmouthing them are too ignorant to realize this. The media almost never broadcasts this type of incident, just the idiot with a camera who is resisting arrest and then blames the police because he can't think of any other way out of his crime. You can't judge police until you have walked a mile in their shoes!!

  • @MrBeerb4noon I'm pretty certain you can judge police from their actions. It is certainly not good to generalize-- you are right. Unfortunately, that is exactly what you are doing with this comment... To sum up your comment: "The media only show idiots who resist arrest and blame the police..." That is just plain nonsense.

I think we can all agree that what we saw in this video was an act of heroism and should be applauded. We should all be grateful for what these and other officers do for us.

  • @jubbaj291 I think you are missing the point. This is type of heroism isn't broadcasted everytime that it happens on film but any "questionable act" by the police that makes its way to media hands will definately be exploited to the "court of public opinion" to the fullest extent. Average citizens often fail to recognize that police officers see the world through different eyes and are quick to make negative comments even on a video like this about police officers.

  • Awesome Job Troopers. To all the idiots badmouthing police, you dont rate to judge until you have walked a mile in their shoes!! Police do this type of thing daily, but the media hardly shows that, just the idiot with a camera who is resisting arrest and somehow blames the police because they can't think of any other way out of their troubles.

  • Biggest problem I see on youtube of burning clothes is fanning the flames by trying to 'beat' the flames out. Better to completely cover the flames with the blanket/clothes and keep gently 'patting' until flames are smothered. Still, kudos to cops and civilians for having the balls to help that man in a very dangerous situation.

  • A cop that does something! Amazing. I'm speechless. I have to find this 1 cop in the world and thank him for not being a d bag.

  • @nydamc69 actually some of the chemicals in Fire extinguishers, depending on type, can be just as deadly as fire

  • @nydamc69 Extinguishers wont do shit on a car like that, they good smaratins didnt have to stop they chose to.

  • You hear stories of this, but can NEVER imagine seeing it. This is amazing and God Bless ALL involved! AMAZING!

  • excellent and brave job

  • i always carry a fire extinguisher you never kno when your driveing down the highway and see some shit like this!

  • did he die?

  • omg

  • that other cop was garbage

  • @coty734 lol, i know. i love how he couldn't get his fire extinguisher to work, so he just gave up on it. thats poor training, especially since its a trooper.

  • @greegarrett1

Disagree. I am a retired member of ISP and I have had the same experiences with the fire extinguishers a few times. Those are the old powder extinguishers that has a charge of propellant in it. After months sitting in the trunk occasionally the charge loses it's pressure and then the extinguisher is a dud, like in this video. It had nothing to do with lack of training. You pull the pin, flip the lever and then squeeze the trigger. If nothing comes out you have a dud.

  • some ppl say they hate the cops. but the truth is, alot of citys would run out of control witout them.

  • oh my god.....hes sizzling poor basterd....Nice work coppas!!

  • Not just cops, but that civilian in the blue shirt was instrumental in pulling that guy out. Its good to know that if, God forbid you or a loved one where in a similar situation, there might be someone there to help. Salute to everyone who helped that guy out.

  • And people say that cops aren't hero's..lol yes they are.

  • I don't understand why its not mandatory to have a fire extinguisher in every car !!!

  • @woydzeck Actually AZ just passed a law requiring all marked police cars to be fire supression equipped. Lets see if other states follow...

  • @woydzeck It may or may not be. But I carry one and from personal experience with it I can tell you that it would not have been enough to put out that fire. The fire extinguishers are a useful tool no doubt but far from adequate with anything more than a small fire. Its sad but true.

  • @facestabber51

Yes but having an extinguisher can prevent a small fire from turning into a big one, like in this case.

  • good job officers you saved this mans life.

  • awesome, it's good to see videos that appreciate police once and awhile.

  • Wow. What a credit to your profession.

  • how the FUCK could you even survive something like that?

  • What a hero. but as i read these comments the thing that i notice is how there arnt many bad mouth people that talk crap about the police most of these are nice comments its nice to know there is atlesat one video on here that there arnt many trash comments about the police.

  • great job

  • Smart move to strip the guy of his clothes because they couldnt put the fire out. I plan on being a future illinois State Trooper. Great Job.

  • I might be a career choice for me as well, good luck to you.

  • @nate482

Great career choice nate482. I'm retired from ISP and I have never met so many outstanding people in one organization. If I had it to do over, I would join the ISP again.

  • Well done! Not only by the Trooper, but the passers-by, as well. STAY SAFE!

  • isnt it nice how we forget our differences when someone really needs help

  • really

  • My Cousin Knows That Guy My Cousins Name Is JR Casteel

  • great job, except for the fire extinguisher that failed...

  • Nice to see a video of some great cops, awesome.

  • @JamJHolmes Some great cops? One great cop, one who can't use a fire extinguisher, or help put out flames on a burning body, or help drag a person out of a burning car. And one who does.

  • @WizzleThump Extinguisher probably was defective. It was too small and to put out the car fire, and not the right type to extinguish the fire on the victim. Most people don't carry a pressurized water extinguisher in the northern states due to freezing, which is the kind they needed for the man on fire. Dry chem will extinguish the flames but will not cool anything, so the burning of flesh will continue. There wasn't anymore room next to the car for the other cop BTW.

  • @ffjsb Read my comment again. It was about one cop risking his life and helping the person, while the other ran around like he lost his head.

  • @WizzleThump The cop you are referring to is not just running around. He initially runs up to see if he can help. Sees they may need an extinguisher, goes to get it, and makes a call on his radio as he's running back. Comes back with the extinguisher, tries to use it, it doesn't work. (defective?) Runs back to get another. Comes back with second extinguisher, they don't need it at this time. There wasn't much he could do, but he was trying to do something, I say good job.

  • @ffjsb I just think if he risked his life to pull the guy out like his fellow officer did, instead of running around back and forth, the victim would have been pulled out sooner. Seems like one guy is concerned about the person potentially dying, and one about the car fire, when they should have both went to save the life before the car. And it just looks funny with him running around like he doesn't know what to do, while his partner knows exactly what to do and did a great job.

  • @WizzleThump The reason they had so much of a problem pulling the guy out was that the guard rail was in the way. There's no way another person was going to be able to get in there to pull the guy out. The cop did fine. He's a cop not a firefighter, and they didn't have the equipment to put out the fire anyway.

  • True heroism!!!! Good job, Todd and bystanders

  • Great job by the ISP and the bystanders that stopped. They truly put their lives on the line to remove an occupant from imminent peril.

    Well done!
