  • My trackball isn't clickinq !

Like when I qo to click " Menu " it won't click !

    I only scrolls !

    The ' U ' and ' I ' keys will click for it ! I NEED HELP !!!!

  • @73philyprincess this might be why it won't click, watch vid let me know

    youtube.com/watch?v=EIkUvpMoeSE

  • @MAXKC1 Okay my Dad cleaned it out as it says in the video , and it worked sliqhtly .

I have to hold it down for it to click .

    The ' U ' and ' I ' key now are back to normal .

But I don't know why I have to hold it ):

  • @73philyprincess the reason you have to hold the button is because there's a dome under your trackball that's probably corroded. usually due to a little water, moisture, or other liquid-related issues. search ebay for "blackberry trackball dome" and you will find them in 10 packs for less than 10 bucks. When you follow this guide, and look under the trackball, you will see the dome sitting right under it held in with a square yellow tape. just carefully replace it with a small blade.

  • please help i have a black berry curve 8320, i have a problem , my tract ball is fine , however under the tract ball is a dome , that has come off, and i hope can be replace - no one online is covering this subject- can you help its a metallic dome -under the tract ball that allows you to push down on tract ball -please help

  • @tim2469 sorry I got to you so late was pretty busy last couple of days i will send you a link to the vid you need by email.

  • Thanks alot man. I used the paper method before, but it got to the point where the paper wouldn't feed trough. Quick, easy and efficient way of making your trackball work like new.

  • @MassProduceBeats Your Welcome! Paper is made of trillions of fibers stuck together, as the friction of the phone goes acrooss the paper it losen those fibers and you also risk scratching the front face of your blackberry!!! Also I dont know the effects of alcohol going inside your phone and possibly effecting the glue on the dome just under the trackball assemblly!!! U said it, "Quick, easy and efficient way of making your trackball work like new" Thanks for watching & commenting!!

  • It sounds like your trying to seduce the audience lol

  • @platnumallstar94 but I am lol

  • @Hittz26 Your Welcome!

    Thanks for watching & commenting!

  • thanks!! i follow ya direction very carefully and fixed my trackball. the first time i did it, i reconized that i put the pins in the wrong direction, i just fixed it!

  • I just wanted to let you know that this was incredibly helpful - I had paid very close attention when I was taking everything apart but desperately needed help putting things back together - I hadn't realized that I needed the top ring to line up with the number 2 latch on bottom, as such. Thanks so much for your help!

  • @sparklebijou Thanks for watching & commenting!

  • Hey does it still work if I'm missing one of the Magnetic Pins?? Thanks

  • @stidnlol If you lost one, it might not work I'm not sure it might not go in one direction.

Take something metal if you lost it in the carpet, and rub the piece of metal in & over the carpet and hope the little metal trackwheel sticks to it!

  • thank you so much for this very clear video, you saved me a lot of frustration

  • @MrMsk2012 Your welcome!

    Thanks for watching & commenting!

  • I was right about to give up on my 8800 and buy a new one. Couldn't scroll down for a couple of weeks before I saw this video. Didn't get it from the first time but I kept cool, started it from the beginning and finally got it right. I'm usually terrible when precision and calmness is needed, but I somehow succeeded. Thank you @MAXKC1

  • @dulajlo I am glad to read that this video helped you out!!! As I have told others, I know how it feels not to have a working phone. Also glad to know you had the patience to accomplish this fix.

    Thanks for watching and commenting!

  • So surprised how the pics where so much better than all the videos out there. You definitely need the high def up close pics for it and this did the trick. Very good video.

  • @bigjim429 thanks for the high praise on the pics I felt the macro pics were needed to get a better view of the trackball assembly, because it is so small.

    Thanks for watching & commenting

  • Thank you very much! I thought I have to buy a new phone, until I got to your description! I think pictures a much better than video, cause it's easyier to follow the single steps!Keep on with that good work! Thx

  • good video gracias .

  • @chito340 gracias por ver y comentar!

    thanks for watching & commenting!

  • u just tried it didnt have any problem till i finally put everything back in the phone. . the ball wrks but now like it moves the cursor in a different directions. .

  • @tas165 If you did everything right I can not see the curser moving in the wrong direction. I WILL SEND YOU A VID, MAYBE ONE OF THE MAGNETIC WHEELS IS IN WRONG.

  • If the cursor is moving up and down when it should be going left to right then that means you layed the "pins" down in the wrong direction. Take them out again and reverse the way they follow each other in the frame. I did this too and now they are correct.

  • Is a good video and i want to know where can I get (BUY) a replacement of TRACKBALL for my blackberry 8900 (Javelin)

  • @MAXKC1 Thanks a lot , is a good video. But I want to know how can I get a replacement of trackball for my blackberry 8900 (Javelin) I love my 8900 bb,

  • Dude your the man. THANKS! The teath were all full of gunk.

  • @devilsdevil19 Your welcome! Thanks for watching & commenting!

  • I want to add to this fix another tweak if you still have issues with it not moving in certain direction. I tried this fix an cleaned the entire trackball assembly and still nothing. After looking closely with the trackball installed without the retainer ring in place, both rollers were moving if i rolled left or right obviously counter acting what ever direction i an moving. This why i could not roll in either direction. To fix this take apart the trackball assembly like in this tutorial.

  • With the ball out take the bottom plastic assembly and bend up the metal arm that comes in contact with the board when clicking. Doing this put more upwards pressure on the ball and eliminates the two rollers moving at once!! Worked for me! Hope it helps others!

  • This helped alot!!! Thanks for the "How to" it was great.

  • @redlinedman Your welcome! Thanks for watching and commenting.

  • @kcbassan I would like to thank you for watching and commenting, and I'm glad it helped!

  • La mayoría de ensamblaje trackball probablemente está lleno de basura y no se haga y entonces el problema podría ser extrema en la cúpula trackball de montaje en la placa. cúpula podría ser aplastado!

cuadro de este tipo en la búsqueda:

BlackBerry trackball button dome replacement tutorial

BlackBerry trackball botón cúpula tutorial de reemplazo

  • Trackball that won't click I got the vid for you;

Most likely trackball assembly is full of junk and won't click and then the extreme problem could be the dome under trackball assembly on the board itself. dome might be crushed!

    type this in search box:

BlackBerry trackball button dome replacement tutorial

  • do all blackberries use the same trackball??? can i put a pearl 8100 trackball into a javelin 8900???????

  • @gaghielex to tell you the truth I do not see why not, you will have to open the javelin up taking it apart because its under the face plate as the pearl just remove the ring, but you could also take your javelin trackball assembly apart to clean as shown here. let me know, and thanks for watching!

  • @gaghielex Maybe you better wait or put the bbpearl trackball next to the bbjavelin trackball and see if they look alike and are the same size all the way around if they are then you could proceed

  • @MAXKC1 mmm thank u!!! i'll just open up both phones and see if the trackballs r compatible!!! thanks again!

  • hay i cant get the prongs to fit around it :( been trying for three hours They just will not hold it all in place x

  • @emawhiplash sent you a vid to help out. Sorry I could not get to you sooner you can do it, just take your time.

Its not hard, it is very basic a top piece, a bottom piece and five pieces in the middle (4 magnetic wheels and a ball) just got to have patience!

    patience

is the state of endurance under difficult circumstances the quality of being patient, as the bearing of provocation, annoyance, misfortune, or pain, without complaint, loss of temper, irritation.
