The Chevy traverse looks terrible, especially the lights. However, if you pay just a little more and get the GMC Acadia, that has LED lights and looks terrific. It even has quad pipes in the back!
Chevrolet Traverse is the best SUV on the market today. It is also the best looking.
The body and all body panels are made with galvanized steel and has a stainless steel exhaust that will last much longer. My 17 year old Pontiac had no major rust and it's original exhaust when we traded it in.
I had two impala's ('03,'07) and then drove the 2009 Tahoe for a while. Chevy has come a long way and they are better than ever. The traverse is an awsome combination of the Impala and the Tahoe. The transmission and comfort ride make it easy to drive like a gentlman and keep the fuel economy up there. I got high 16 in the city and got as low as 12 when i pushed it hard. It get out of its own way too and the big tires, wide stance, and long base give it an awsome ride.
I have the '08 Acadia SLT2, fully loaded. It is funny how GM made the Acadia, Traverse, Enclave, and Outlook with most of the same features and the exact same engine. The price tag is the only major difference.
Chevy Transvestite looks like an abortion. Who is the tard that says the interior is attractive??? lol Looks like its made with welfare money... oh wait.. IT IS! LOL
Nice one Motors Liquidation Company, you suck like you always did.
The Traverse is rated better than the honda pilot, for better mpg, better warranty and bigger than honda. GM stuff has really been upgraded over the last five years, of course Ford has been doing well especially with the focus and Fussion, and now the taurus sho2010
I wouldn't get the cobalt if i were you. Just wait till next year till the release the cruze. Or buy a civic instead. The cobalt is horrible interior and had powersteering problems.
Corollas to me have always been. Well, just plain bland. They don't have the sporty feel and refinement that you get with the civics. And the interior is nowhere near in the civic league of refinement.
@chuckers40 Exactly the reason I just bought an Acadia. The Traverse is a nice vehicle, but I don't care too much for the rear lights; everything else is fine.
The Pictures of the Traverse, and it's siblings:, the Enclave, Outlook, and Acadia do not do justice to them . They are better looking in person. They are also bigger than you think. All 4 of these vehicles are about a 1 to 1 1/2 ft shorter than a Chevy Tahoe/GMC Yukon. If you only had to purchase one of these vehicles, which one would you purchase and why?
hard to call, but me, i'd go for the buick enclave, because i like the overall luxurious apperance of the buick, plus for some reason i feel gravitated to the buick brand.
This car really looks better in person than on this video. If you catch a look at the ltz version of the traverse, it really catches your eye. I like it. It is bigger than you think. Chevrolet cars/trucks still look better Fords. Last longer too.
I totally disagree that this vehicle is not stylish, and that the Mazda looks better. At best I would say they are about the same in the looks department.
me and my wife probably gonna get one tonite ... the dealer let us takeit home over nite and to go to work so it is up to my wife to decide if she wants it. i know the video is wrong about style.. this car is the nicest i have ever seen , insiide and out.. good luck with your beautiful car
Are you not aware that the interior space of the traverse is larger than a standard SUV? The Toyota Highlander and Nissan Pathfinders are so small i can barely fit my backpack in it.
Oh I noticed the Traverse is really large and I like it.
7 or 8 passenger cars have to have place for 7 or 8 persons. No matter whether minvan or SUV ;-)
I was wondering about the ugly "step" where the seats of the 3rd row are mounted on. It seems like the step hampers your feet because the step is pretty close to the seats of the 2nd row. In the angle of that video it looks like you have to put your feet directly in that gap and wouldn't be able to move them forward or backward.
OK, so GM spends many millions more than the competition designing and tooling up to make 4 almost identical average vehicles (the Travers, Acadia, Enclave, Outlook) instead of 1 good one and they can't make money. Gee, I just can't imagine why. You don't see Toyota or Honda with 4 versions of the Rav4 or CRV now do you.
I owned a Audi A4 Avant and it's too small to fit 3 kids thus the reason why people are looking for vehicle like these as an alternative to minivans,SUV or these "family" car that can barely fit one child and a pug.
man this isnt a Cross over its a regular SUV GM dubbed it as a cross over. a real cross over is the Equinox or and other small truck like vehicle. not that MONSTER

They said the Traverse was fairly quick, with 0 to 60 in 8.6. Maybe fairly quick for an SUV, but don't be talking about being a performance SUV; it isn't much better than other competitors, or if not, worse. The Traverse has got a pretty decent interior; amenities can be compared with a Lexus RX or maybe something slightly upscale, a Cadillac SRX. It's not a class leader, but it's one of the best SUV's I know of for a family that isn't particularly rich but want some bells and whistles (luxury).
Insideline was biased at the end. They tell you if you want high style buy a CX-9 or a Ford Flex, WHAT!, if you wan't style and luxury you buy a Buick Enclave. I dare anyone to say the Enclave is ugly.

the engine on the 2008-present (North America) 2011-(Latin America Chevrolet Traverse
Engine
3.6L VVT DI High Feature V6
Annihilator1111 2 weeks ago
I work at a car rental company and drove two of these today.
I found the engine to be way underpowered for such a big vehicle, and the visibility out the back horrendous.
However, it felt VERY solid for a GM vehicle, the steering was VERY well engineered and the space in the back is unlimited.

thats why GM is burning $2.5B a month too many unwanted vehicle models
the reason they scrapped the EV-1 is because of low or poor demand
and so is the corvette they don't sell many enough to make a decent profit.
