Bobby Orr was a great talent and no one will ever convince Bobby Orr fans of anything else. That being said, statistically, there is no way he ranks as #1. He is one of my very favorite players too, but personal opinion doesn't match the statistics of Howe, Gretzky and Lemieux. As far as who is the best, statistically, it's Gretzky. I know the Mario fans are going to say I am wrong... but the records speak for themselves.

Gee, Orr's stats sure took off when the league doubled in size. Look it up. Had he not played when the league was most diluted in its history, he would not have half the stats he does. He is arguably not even the best defenceman in history let alone the best player. Sorry.
