This is reeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaally cool. I'm glad that hipsters aren't exactly music buffs and/or tone chasers. If they were, they would have found this by now and every hipster would be playing a box guitar instead of some piece of shit "vintage" strat or les paul. GUH
@nuthalia Thanks!! I don't think so. I think a dulcimer uses a different scale and tuning. This uses a simple tuning like eaea or gcgc. It plays like a slide guitar. Thanks for watching!!
@lennypurnell because of this video,.... i have switched from playing rock to devoting myself to blues,.. so if i ever get famous (doubt it but sky's the limit) ill be personally thanking u man
@XXXxorphenxXXX Wow!! Hey play them both. the blues are alot of fun. If you like the old stuff 1930's, check out Weanie Campbell radio online. You'll hear where alot of the new stuff comes from. Have fun with it! Thanks!! I Don't think I deserve to have so much influence! Lenny
Hey that's cool!! They all sound alittle different. Mine have that larger box that makes it alittle deeper. I had some distortion on the amp too. Thanks for the compliment, and thanks for watching.
Lenny- this is awesome. I love the clean sound, and the dowels right through! I am about to build one of these, and I was wondering if you could send me any info about the piezio (sp?) pickup. And did you use real fret wire, or did you improvise? -Christopher
Thanks for your comments!! I got the piezo from stu mac online. Its a Schatten soundboard transducer. I did use fret wire. I get alot of my how its done info from stu mac. They have some free video's at their site. I also like the cigar box nation. Great people and lots of info. Also check out Scotty's cigar box page. Thanks again!,Have fun on your build! Lenny
Very cool Lenny, great tone just like the first one. Only the first one looked a bit cooler with the bikeweek pin's but thats just my oppinion on the looks, fretting it realy gave this one an edge the harlybox didnt have.
Thanks!! Yeah the bikeweek pins do add some to the looks. I like the frets too. They do add more crispness to the sound. Thanks for your input! I hope your still playing. I had to load this video on my wifes computer. mine is still messed up .Won't play video.I 've been missing out on everybody's music.I hope to get a new one. Trying to watch my money while I wait and see what our beat up economy does. later
Your very welcome Lenny, hey maybe you could paint the pins on or something and get a little of both worlds. Too bad about your computer, i know how much that sucks when its broken and you dont have another, hope you get a new one soon my friend so you can catch up.
Yeah i am still playing but i havnt built anything lately cause i rescently bought a Republic (Texas) Resolian and that realy dented my wallet so i need to save up for materials and such but i will be building again soon.
