The version that I have has something different from measure 44. I tried checking on a different music sheet and it has the same thing. Can anyone tell me why this is?
@e4e5sf3sf6 It's rearly hard to compare pianists like Rubinstein and Yundi Li. Some people would prefer Li's version because it's more "impressive" and some others Rubinstein's because it's more graceful....
They arn't from the same generation, the same culture so it's a bit difficult to say "that one is better".
Listen to Claudio Arrau play it. It just pulls your heart out through your throat. It is an amazing piece. And so is the other. They are so incredible.
For some unspeakable reason, I personally much prefer Op.9 No.1 to No.2. It is what I like to call a "mood piece". And nobody plays this with better tempo than Rubinstein.
Amazingly played. I studied this piece, but compared to other amazing nocturnes or other Chopin pieces i hate this one

@c2043588 I have checked to on my edition (paderewsky) and I found something else, that's right. Don't know why...

I can't help it, but after listening to Yundi Li's version, this interpretation becomes a bit pale.

@AlexandreJdB Yundi Li's version is more "impressive" and this is "graceful"? I don't agree. But each his own opinion.

@AlexandreJdB I'd also add that this nocturne, judging by it's structure, is all about grace.
