  • 22 wins tonight after beating nashville. ha ha ha ha

  • horrible night for the sharks. I wish we had a song about san jose. Mad respect though.

  • Comment removed

  • I was right behind you >.<

  • I am a HUGE New York Rangers fan but I RESPECT good original 6 hockey and their fans. Even Montreal. Detroit is by far one of if not the toughest places to play in the country. How the hell do you not get goosebumps listening to this. Immaculate.

  • Konstantinov<3

  • i went to game 7 dissapointing game but datsyuk had a pretty cool goal if cleary and franzen played we would have been in the west championship

  • Would you believe the St. Louis Blues would actually try to make this song their theme song when it clearly says in the lyrics, "BORN AND RAISED IN SOUTH DETROIT!"

Could the Blues possibly be anymore pathetic?

    Go Wings!!!

  • I get chills everytime I hear it especialy at a Wings game

  • Easily one of the greatest moment in my life was yelling "Born and raised in SOUTH DETROIT" with my fellow wings fans :) GO WINGS!!!

  • Omg! When im watching the game and when i hear this song I feel chills!!!! I love this game and this team..Hockey Hockeytown!!! :D

  • I was there!!

  • hate this song

  • I rememer watching this game, absolutely gave me chills, red wings fans are some of, if not THE best in the league, and the Joe is easily one of, again, if not THE best atmosphere in hockey, way better than MTL if you ask me, and yes, this is coming from a Leaf fan

  • Was this after Darren helms empty netter against the sharks? I think the crowd was louder then, though.

  • how many people in that crowd were from windsor lol

  • @07foxmulder its over 9000!!!! man, we rocked the house that night.

  • How far do Detroit fans live outside of Detroit? I'm not bashing you guys at all, but I've drive through Detroit and it is scary as hell.

  • @CountSlippers It really depends where in Detroit you are. Like every city, Detroit has it's good parts and bad parts of town.

  • @Hchickrocks Oh, that makes more sense.

  • @Hchickrocks I figured it was something like 30 minutes.

  • @CountSlippers I actually live 2 hours away from Detroit, fans come from everywhere to see the Wings play, especially during playoffs. But I spent a lot of time downtown while in college.

  • @Hchickrocks what city do you live in? im from Brighton if you know where that is

  • @chriskoch2424 Yes, I'm from the East Lansing area, but I've played hockey many times at the Kensington Valley Ice Arena in Brighton.

  • @Hchickrocks oh thats cool, thats where i play

  • @chriskoch2424 Haven't played there in a while though. I played there frequently when I played boys hockey, then I moved to girls AAA and played in the Detroit area for the most part.

  • @CountSlippers every city has a scary part... its not just detroit.. i wen't to chicago last month and night time walking on the streets and ally's its worse then detroit.... and i live 30 minutes from detroit.. .

  • @CountSlippers Metro Detroit is more of a region than a city. To cross Metro Detroit from the NE burbs to the SW/Downriver burbs takes a 90 minute drive at 70mph.

After the blacks rioted in 1967 whites left the city and the suburbs were already vast and became even bigger. Detroit = unsafe inner city but the safest suburbs of any major city in the USA. The difference is black and white lol, literally. Detroit is the most segregated metro area in the USA and we like it that way.

  • @CrazyChitTV How different is it going into the city though. I've seen burnt out houses all along the way and right up to the Bridge to Canada, but does it get worse or better away from the highway, and closer to the Joe?

  • @CountSlippers Around the Joe Louis Arena is safe. Downtown Detroit has a very low crime rate. Right next to the Joe almost is the financial district, with some of the most beautiful Art Deco skyscrapers in the USA... like the Guardian Building (link) /watch?v=fgwqbKVWMME

As I said Whites moved out, Oakland County (the county that is the North Central and Northwest burbs of Detroit (up Woodward past 8 mile) often ranks as the wealthiest county of over 1 mil pop in the USA.

  • @CrazyChitTV the first suburbs after you leave Detroit going East on Jefferson Ave are the Grosse Pointes, which were some of the first suburbs in the US. Homes of the auto barons.... /watch?v=QjZjVrYb8gE&feature=related

Indian Village also near Downtown still in the city (more auto barons etc mansions) /watch?v=V2Tg7YIOL7s

If your main interest is seeing the Red Wings play you will have no problems at all. The fans are White : )

    Cheers

  • @CrazyChitTV Quite the opposite actually, I'm a Nashville fan but I'm originally Canadian. I found it interesting how successful you guys did ticket sales wise, when the area ( or at least the part I drove through ) seemed dangerous. But thanks, I feel enlightened, if you will.

  • @CountSlippers Despite where the area is, you have to look at the history of sports in the city of Detroit. For the last 10 years, the city hasn't had much to cheer about (leaving of the Auto Industry, horrible economy, etc...) and the only consistent winning sports team has been the Wings, which is why people drive to downtown Detroit to see them. Plus, there are ways to avoid the dangerous parts. The Joe is right next to the Renaissance Center, one of the best places in town.

  • I've never been to the Joe :( I hate being a red wings fan in oklahoma haha

  • A true Detroit tradition

  • amazing atmosphere

  • I WAS THERE!

  • how much would those seats be in regular season?

  • @TheSuhisabeast90 They are about 25 dollars sometimes 40 not a bad seat in the joint.

  • @coolcanadianguy7

I'm a wings but wow do I love the capitals I mean ovechkin rocking the red

I think caps have louder fans then Detroit

  • Oilers fans loudest in Canada.....Wings fans loudest in USA

  • Doesn't matter what team you like, I'm a Capitals fan, but everyone knows that Detroit is the team that everyone wants to play for. It's not the best area, but man do they have the best and most dedicated fans. Every player wants to play there, the Wings are the classiest team there is (excluding bertuzzi who shouldn't be playing on the NHL)

  • I'm a fan and although we lost, I had an absolutely GREAT time at all the games I went to the past season. I was really sad we didn't get to face off against the Canucks, my second favorite team, but I'm crossing my fingers for next year. Canucks vs. Red Wings game please! :D

    - Megan, born and raised in south Detroit! (;

  • wow, amazing

  • I´m from sweden and i have always loved Boston. But next year I really hope ´´the Swedes´´ takes it home:)

  • It sucks that we couldn't pull it off. If we could have beat the Sharks the Cup would have been ours.

But hey if we couldn't win it, I'm glad it was one of the Original Six teams that I don't hate that won it. I never want to see the Toronto Maple Leafs win the Cup.

  • but this is cool

  • Canucks fans invaded LA this year and started chanting hey hey hey good bye

  • As a wings fan. Even though we lost. This was something special. I went to This game and holly shit even McGuire said it. This is the loudest building in the playoffs so far this year. Especially after this game. The place was nuts. Greatest game I have ever been to. Wings for life. Best team in the NHL no doubt. Gosh it the best feeling being from Detroit and being a wings fan.

  • Wings = Best Sports Team In History, why? The Fans and Atmoshpere

  • Even from home, this game was magical. Can't wait for the next season, it's going to be special.

  • Was there that night and was one of the best if not the best sports experience I have ever had, AMAZING!!

  • @wilddogg71 I've been too a lot of hockey games (ive played since i was 3) and this was one of the best. Definitely AMAZING!!! Hopefully next year we can bring the Cup back to its rightful home. :)

  • @wilddogg71 For someone who was born in the small town of Hanford, California, Steve Perry and Journey spoke for a lot of people! He was there, and amazing, at the 2010 World Series cheering on and serenading the SF Giants. He is the greatest.

  • damn, I didn't know Detroit Arena is so old...look at the screen

  • amazing!!

  • Did you seriously get to go to this game? Lucky ass. Game 7 Tonight!!!!

  • @pbrennan03 Yes I was there. I've been to a ton of hockey games, but this one was the greatest game ever. I bought tickets for my mom as her mother's day present!

  • @Hchickrocks THat is badass!!! Glad you got to go to a good game. Keep your fingers crossed for tonight
