Former Plaid Cymru county council candidate and elected councillor for Llandybie, Meirion Bowen, has declared for the British National Party.

In doing do, Mr Bowen became the second BNP councillor on Llandybie Community Council, joining Councillor Kevin Edwards who represents Penygroes.

Unfortunately I don't speak Welsh but I'm Irish and I can speak my own language very well. Us Irish are in a similar position regarding our language, probably in a worst state as it seems the Welsh speak their a lot and know theirs better. But we are trying too. We should strive to preserve our ancient languages which are the key to our roots and heritage.

Yes I do, But I realise that our Celtic brothers were led astray by the Naughty,Nasty English with promisses of free poridge. And they made up for it by helping Harri Tudur beat the English at Battle of Bosworth Field on 22 August 1485, thereby bringing the English under the rule of the Welsh Tudor dynasty which lasted until Henry Tudor's Great great grandson James VI and I(James Stuart) took over with the house of Stuart. which ruled until the Krauts of Hanover took over in 1714. By that same reckoning there hasn't been an English King since 1066, As for them being "Nasty" So where the Irish who raided the Coastal area's of Wales, And their attempted Invasion which was defeated by a very famous Gwynedd King. The simply facts that the Britons and the Gaels to which you call "Celtic" are not the same culture at all. Go and tell the Picts they share a common "brotherhood" which the Irish/Gaalic-Scots who stole their land and wiped them out of existence.

The Pictish Kings where mostly related to the Kings of Gwynedd, And in some cases United the British under the title "King of the Britons". It really is alarming how the Khumric Britons today think of themselves as having a common link to the Gaels of Ireland when for centuries fought against eachother for control of Britain. People don't like the truth, I can tell that you are trying to avoid the history because history spells out there has never been a celt living in Wales. Gildas no dount the greatest historian in these isles called his book "History of the Britons" not History of the Celtic Brotherhood, Because there is no such thing as Celtic in these Islands, Never has and never will.

I wish Welsh, Irish, and Gaidhlig were the main languages of those countries. Wales and Ireland have a chance of really making the MAJORITY of the population fluent. I think Scots Gaidhlig fucked though.

no these languages should not die out, they're much older than english, much more beautiful and i dont think they will die out for many generations! more and more people speak languages like welsh and irish every year.

Yeah you're right! I'm from across the water in Ireland and although not many speak Irish, it is becoming more popular. I do think the Welsh are better at retaining the national language though. I wouldn't wish to get rid of English but to create a bilingual society where everyone knows both languages. Our Celtic languages are old and very beautiful and should be respected and cherished.
