  • BRAVO!!!

  • BRAVO!!!

  • I´ve read that this stile began at Canary Islands. The spanish conquests writed that ancient people on the islands used to have funny dances with elegance using their feet. Most of them were sold as slaves all arround Italy, Spain, France and England. By way of cultural intermixture in courts were the "canario" dances.

  • G-R-E-A-T!!! ^^

  • This was ggggrrrreeeaaatttt!!!! It is so wonderful to SEE the dancing instead of simply hearing the music.

  • Getteth ye down, and getteth ye funky!

  • Very nice - thanks a a lot! We have also uploaded our version here, but unfortunaltely without dancers. Just love your interpretation - wonderful...

  • Very heart warming. I don't know why I watch this canario-video all over and over again. Maybe it is the perfect combination of music and the two dancers. With every new play back I discover more subtleties - tout simplement très merveilleux :-))

  • Soooo sexy.

  • Superb!

  • My fellow reenactor Elaine who is an early dancer herself said that "Il Canario" was a beautiful dance and among her favourites. Compaigne Christine Grimaldi demonstartae why!!

Passionate, sensual and a magnificent performance of a difficult dance. Well Done!

  • thank you very much !!!

  • This Canario is wonderful, performers are marvellous. I love this video and it's an inspiration for my dance.

    many compliments

  • Very nice emotion! I'm from the Canary Islands and I'm musician. I'm in charge of direction of a canarian folkloric group in Gran Canaria. It's wonderfull to watch the beginnig of our traditionals songs and dances.

From the Canary Islands were arrived to the europeans courts two dances, El Canario and Las Folías.

It's wonderfull to watch somthing of our history.

    Nice days

  • What a feast of Baroque music and dance, fabulous! I'm no music expert but have noticed this style closely resembles a northern Peruvian dance called "Marinera". Although the latter is faster, danced with handkerchiefs and somewhat more suggestive, the similarity is patent.

  • thank you very much for the remarks!
