Well thank goodness that Sinatra turned the role of Reisman because Marvin was perfectly casted and turned out miles better than "Old Blue Eyes"

With the other cast member like Bronson, Brown, Walker as well as Cassavetes, young Sutherland, Savalas and Borgnine amongst these great guys. Marvin held his own!!!!!!!!!!!

Frank Sinatra Was Originally Intended For The Role Of Major Reisman In The Movie The Dirty Dozen For Director Robert Aldrich And MGM. Ironically He Turned Down The Role Prior To An Injured Hand From Filming The Movie The Manchurian Candidate The Part Went To Lee Marvin..
