I see these people talking about their experience. I was chemical corps. I'm fairly sure I took more CS than most comments.... But upon seeing this. I should have joined the Air Force.
lol i remember we were in there for a few minutes...not just take a breath and get out. I couldn't find the door my eyes were so blurry. It sucks, but its a good experience to talk about afterwards
yeah, these people had it easy...when i was in boot camp for the Navy, we stood in ranks and they went down the line and you got to leave once you said like your full name and rate and something else. It is pretty uncomfortable, but i didn't have as bad a time as the kid next to me...he was like throwing up lol
You can breathe through it normally, the burning subsides and your eyes will only burn for a sec. Snot will pour out of your face, your skin will be on fire, you will be looking at the next guy like he is insane for freaking out the way he is. There is always one who can not keep his composure no matter what, don't be that guy.
They wont let you out until everyone in your line is breathing full breaths, eyes open and reponding calmy. . If one person is freaking out your stuck in there so look out for your battle buddy and don't run. You will get hit. Your natural reaction is to get out any way you can. You will feel like there is no way that the gas belongs inside your body and if you take one more breath you will die, but you wont
You wont be able to think clearly for a moment but if you keep your head about you, you can calm your self down, not thrash around and get the hell out.
look, lets not sugar coat it. The chamber sucks. The first breath is the hardest, if you remember to keep your composure and really tell your self your not dying you will be just fine. There are no words to describe how it feels in your chest these guys in this video had it easy, I know the army chamber was a lot more extreme. I don't even see smoke. You can barely see through the army chamber and you have to go through several rooms tapering up to the one with the barell of gas in it.
Why is it that every video I've seen so far seems like a high school field trip. Don't get me wrong, I know that they are professional and develop adequately trained sailors, but to me something's not seeming right. I ship off soon, and I know that I may be challenged by many of the things that I've seen on youtube, but I would really appreciate it if someone (perhaps with recent experience) could refer a video that actually captures what he or she believes to be the most difficult part of RTC.
how much we like it, but the oportunity was gone then so go to boot camp and do it, you wont regret it. i think somebody was asking how it was, i hope this helped. and navy boot camp has softened up a lot since my days so you probably wont be in there anywhere near as long as we were.
there was none of this barely coughing crap, people were vomiting and mucus pouring out of our nose, mouth, eyes skin just burning, like a said a fresh pill or two each time, and we could feel our face burn around the mask before we took it off. but, to any potential recruit, dont let that stop you, most everybody who does it will tell you it was awesome, and the fact is you could refuse it if you just reallly didnt want to or had conditions, all who refused regreted it when they saw how much
what a bunch of crap, dont know if it is still this way but when i went throught it in the navy, they madeus line up in three rows of ten to twelve people, then they would burn a fresh pill or two and one whole row removed there mask, and each one of us one by one had to resite our name, social, date of birth, and division number, then we had to say happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you happy birthday master cheif. and we stayed in there until one whole row was done then we got out
@mbard91678 This is not Basic Training at Navy Boot Camp. Don't you recognize an Air National Guard Refresher Course when you see one? People have real jobs to go to and Deployment Checklists to get signed-off. None of this faffin' around singing Happy Birthday.
haha I remember this all too well..Ft Leonardwood Jan 12th-April 29th...Our Company Commander was with us (behind the window lol) singing the national anthem super slow...couldn't even get 3 words out but I hummed it lmao
@callmeblainer marines didnt have to do it that intensly for the simple fun fact that we have 13 weeks and the faggot grunts(who dont do shit marines do all the work now days) who have 10 weeks
