i like but dislike the level sync.. it helps but alot of people don't realise your gear is useless if your lvl is capped below the level needed to use it
The story of Absinthemind the Thief took place here in the Valkurm Dunes.

I really miss fighting over spots to camp. Or when someone would ding and would have to be booted until the lowest person in the party also leveled up; just so they wouldn't lose out on exp.

It happened to me once or twice, the first when I didn't make it and the second when I also didn't make it but that time because the asshole friend that I had decided to go, "brb" instead of telling me and making me wait for him when he lacked the courtesy to fucking tell me to go on ahead.
Cant tell you how many times I rounded up all of the goblins in the zone and went toe OP to have a random avatar of my choosing obliterate them all in a single astral flow. Spite, all out of spite...
@xenotastic That is what I used to do 6yrs ago when I first started playing, got whm high up or any job /whm run back and raise people or stop and PL for a few minutes, specially back when you could cure someone and chocobo mazurka and have tons of hate. Games changes soo much recently I still play though cuz of music and old memories like this.

I remember having so much trouble with those darn undead popping up at the worst time especially the bogeys, goblins were annoying sure, but those ghosts really didn't give you much of a chance.
when i first started FFXI (NA launch), there was a high lv JP mithra RDM named Mache who use to stand outside the gates to Selbina and protect everyone from the constant trains. this song always reminds me of her, such a great game and geat memories.
I remember running back and forth from selbina to sandy buying la theine cabbages for hours on end....although I can;t remember what it was for...maybe a quest or something? I don't know...
@LordNaryuk it's for raising your fame in all three nations :) I did that, too but now they have thrifty transit moogles on occasion that teleport you from one place to the other. They've made things much easier to do these days.
This song brings back so many memories. I remember being the biggest noob in the world trying to get out of the dunes, with no idea where to go. Then walking into Seblina making it to safety. Hearing this song for the first time was such a great feeling.
Partying in the dune always was my favorite part of this game despite valkrum being a nood hole lol. I enjoyed this music soo much that it made it worth the death/long time lfp/goblin trains lol. I kept leveling new jobs just to get back there even tho i was lvl 75 brd lol.
@SGlefou Ya until a lvl 75 beastmaster trained a lvl 30 bomb over to your party and wiped everyone for no reason haha I just remember first starting to fish in Selbine and snapping lines like it was my job. Fishing in Selbina was one of my favorite things to do in FFXI just to chill out and listen to the music haha
Hehe I afraid i wont be back myself and ill be picking a new project - FFXIV, I hope they can make it as amazing as FFXI but also little more playable xD kidding, just hope it's more casual player friendly.
