Just kinda curious had my XD.45 tactical FDE model for about 3 years , love it but haven't gotten around to getting a mag extention yet,.

Sweet! I have the 4" model and it's my favorite pistol. I ordered an extended slide stop from pistolgear and I'm thinking that I'll probably like the XD even more once that's installed. That sucks that the Arredondo extension only adds 2, I was going to buy one thinking it's supposed to be a +3. The extension from AGP is out of stock right now on pistol so I'll just have to wait and pick up a few of them. I love the look of extended magazines.

you should take a look at the taurus oss in 45, 5.2 inch barrel and just as narrow as the xd. the controls are the similar. very cool gun. just subbed

Mine does not have the extra 1911 style safety....or the stippling on the grip. Also did you color in your writing on your xd Tactical, cause mine is just black.

For $700 you're better off with a 1911 from springfield. Under at or under $500 is not a bad price for this pistol though.

@wideflange123 Yea the "Tactical" title is more for show. CZ did the same thing with their SP01. A more fitting model number would be XD-ES for Extended Slide, like the M&P L or Pro Models or Glock 34

@Sodiumreactor I honestly don't know. The box that this came in had a sticker that did say not for sale in california. I think the 10 round limit states have a list of approved guns. If it's approved i'm sure there's a version made.

@mjwilks07 Both extensions are about the same quality and function wise. The arrendondo is the more popular brand for magazine extensions if that matters at all.

The extensions are very easy to install. It just replaces the old base plate and slips on. Just remember this is more geared towards competition use. I would not use it for self defense. That's just my opinion.

Shoots great, the extra length of the slide and barrel help with felt recoil. Check the video of my daughter shooting it, and she's small. No hiccups but it didn't lock back after last round, but i think i was just riding the slide stop

I just got this xd and I'm having a hard time releasing a full mag. The mag release requires a ton of pressure. Have you experienced this?

I have heard about this on the forum and fatboyr6 has the same problem and made a video about it. Of all the XDs i've had i never had a problem with the magazine release.

here is a question for you... in regards to the agp arms magazine extension (+4)... On the agp website it is stated that the (+4) is meant for the xd9 or xd40. Is there a typo somewhere, or is there a compatability i am not understanding?

The +4 is for the 9mm and .40s&w. The 45 is +2
