Thy should bring this back. Just have it in a Theatrical Setting. They should bing it back and put it where the Princes fantasy Fair is at. I'm sure the crowd would be different. This was something before its time. It also has a great message.
@ejeremy98 I don't like it, I LOVE it! (that being said, this video of it is terrible because none of the effects were really working and the TV lighting DESTROYED it
I loved this show! Beautiful song and I was in to it so much. I videotaped one of the show, and watched it at home over and over. I still remember the moment, tears in my eyes. I don't know why this show failed... i think it was not good timing for Disneyland theme park. I've heard that 1996 and 97 was not making any good profit... If they can do the same thing right now, people get how beautiful it was!!!
I rember when I was really little they picked me from the crowd and I got to through glitter in the air. I thought they would not pick me because I was chubby and had a low self esteem. I was so happy and that memory has stayed with me my whole life! :)
This was brought in to replace the Main Street Electrical Parade. This is what we got. There was so much build up for this new exciting show. UGH, then, there was an Annual Passholder night-Premiere party. When we got there, they renamed it a dress rehersal. We thought something was up at that point. This "show" has so many bad memories. No one knew what direction they were trying to go in. NO need to attempt for a re-work, just give us another great parade, like the LIon King one.
music reminds me to the electrical parade from 6:20-7:09.didn't knew that irish style.theme song dream our dreams together.sounds nice from 7:10-end of clip.
redo this parade... I realy think this parade was before its time... Now with the Pixie Hollow think exploding into success, a lot more people can better relate to the parade's theme. Sad it failed back then.
they brought in a big flower that was really covered in fiber optics and it looked cool. then the nightmare began. they had cast members threading fiber optics 24/7 to try and make the opening. there were nowhere near enough to make the show look good. the concept went nuts as it was originally supposed to incorporate the buildings on main street, but that never happened. the film was cheesy, it was just a bad time for the department.
i worked in the parade department from 1991-2007 as a performer. originally we went to a huge parade department meeting held in a movie theater on property and they made it sound like this was going to be an amazing show using 'new' fiber optic technology. the floats were supposed to burst into colors when the pixie dust hit them, millions of fibers everywhere, etc.
I think disney should have remembered this when they started thinking up of "street" shows/parties instead of parades at the parks. But I think if they revamped this show now to kind of a Disney Fairies sort of thing it would work. it already has the feel of pixie hollow, the actually pixies are just a little bit freakier. =l
@videodude23 yeah they are.. remember 1997 was the Lord of the Dance/Michael Flatley craze. I thinks its just an epic parade, no idea why they canceled it.
i think if they were to bring it back with tinker bells new fairy friends it might do better,,,but the odds of them bringing back a night time parade like this are slim to none
I'm sorry guys...I tried to watch the clip with an open mind...the show is just as horrible as when I saw it in person.
This parade/show was doomed to failure. It could never live up to the expectations of Electrical Parade fans. I mean, is it just me, or is the "light magic" of this show a little lackluster?
I remember the wait time for this parade being the worst. Even though the parade would have started schedule, it seemed like it took an eternity until the floats got to you.
I was lucky enough to see this at DL in '97 and I really liked it. But LM was almost doomed to failure, since it replaced the Electric Light Parade, and most fans were determined to hate anything but the ELP. But LM also had tons of technical problems, a confusing (if not inconsistent) story, and the "pixie" makeup even scared most kids, so I'm not surprised it got 86'd.
But it was great to see it again, thanks for posting this!!!
I read so much about this and it was usually negative opinions. I'm so glad I'm finally able to see it for myself. It's a rather odd concept (parade stopping show), but I LOVE the soundtrack! Such a wonderful mythical celtic medley of Disney songs and it's great to finally hear "Baroque Hoedown" in full orchestration rather than the digitized version from the Main St. Electrical Parade.
i know somebody who did thjis parade, sadly sh ended up jooining half the cast on the sidelines when halfway through the run the trumped landed on her foot....ouch
This parade Deserves a 2nd Chance! With today's Technology, I bet it would be better than ever!!!

I remember Disney Channel tried to promote this show with a week of magic-themed movies, and one of them was "Kazaam." I'm sure that's relevant.

was it the Annual Passholder night where the opening kept looping during the Main Street performance?

Am I the only that liked this parade? The music is genius! And I love the fiber optic, highly detailed floats. Shame it only lasted one season..
Call me crazy, but I think this would've been wildly popular in Tokyo DL. Why not just transfer it to another park, as opposed to just destroying it?

great concept, but I was one of those kids the pixie's scared :\
The music is amazing, but I don't think it lived up to all the hype.
