I think Christian Bale was absolutely right. He's filming for Terminator Salvation and its a movie with intense scenes and for those of you who have seen it know what I'm talking about. As an actor he has a processand he can't stay in the right frame of mind if there is a constant distraction from behind the camera. I don't think he had to belt it out the way he did but it was necessary because this was apparently not the first time this person in the background had caused a disturbance.
Agreed, i have the movie and yes there were some intense scenes. No one knows what its like to be an actor( a good one at that ) and to make something to entertain people. He didnt realize I was recording it on my Iphone though and a week later he issued a public apology and his publicist sent me a coupon for 10% off soft-serve ice cream and a Netflix rental of Dark Knight.
I was having dinner at an Italian bistro in L.A., and there was Christian Bale just 3 tables away. A waiter spilled a half-empty glass of water on his table, and Bale gave him a similar speech. I was walking my labradoodle on South Beach, and who comes around the corner but Christian Bale. I recognized him but my dog did not. Mr Bale screamed and threatened to kick his ass and have him neutered for being unprofessional. He then crushed my dogs head until the brains spilled out. He didnt realize I was recording it on my Iphone though and a week later he issued a public apology and his publicist sent me a coupon for 10% off soft-serve ice cream and a Netflix rental of Dark Knight.

I was having dinner at an Italian bistro in L.A., and there was Christian Bale just 3 tables away. A waiter spilled a half-empty glass of water on his table, and Bale gave him a similar speech. Then Bale ripped the waiter's heart right out from his chest and licked the pulsing, bloody heart in his hand. I thought all that Hollywood Bruce Lee shit was fake, but I'll never question it again.
BTW, the waiter lived. Bale apologized and gave him a great tip.

Me too. I know his heart,and I know he was just having a bad moment. People forget that he's a private person,he's not into the "Hollywood thing",he avoids the limelight,and the night life that's so many stars are notorious for. He's my absolute favorite actor,in my opinion,no one else compares to his hard work,extreme focus and dedication,sacrafice,and passion for his craft. People can criticize him all they want,but no one can deny his hard work and discipline,he's simply the best!!!!

Bale was backed up by the crew and producers after this tirade went public. It was a very emotional scene, and any proffesional DP would know not to move lights or dare walk in an actors eyeline. The crew supported bale after this cause the guy was a douche.

Keep in mind, it was Christian Bale's loss of focus on the scene, not the lighting guy losing his. The lighting guy did not step into the scene. To let go on him deserves a reaction from the public to show he can't do that.
I'll avoid the cinema release, then pick up the movie on DVD later for this movie.
Hollywood pricks need to know they can't bash people and get away with it. I don't care that he publicly apologized, kick his ass on opening night and he won't do it again.

I am a news director, and I agree with Bale actually. I think that guy should have wholeheartedly apologized instead of making excuses and being passive aggressive..... especially after doing something that stupid!!
For anybody working in television or movies, don't walk around in the background of a live camera shot. When they call action, you better be still, especially if you are working the lights. Why anybody would fix a light during a scene is beyond me. Totally unprofessional!
