If you want to live without debts and taxes, then all you have to do is leave society. If you want to have the benefits of living within a society, then you also have to contribute to that society. You do that by paying taxes and paying back money you owe to others.

@ubrocc222 N. Korea's government does not allow cell phones, internet and has state ran television. They have concentration camps according to the show "explorer" which I believe is on Nat Geo. There is no antibiotics, no medicine, and about 3 million people have died from lack of food. They would not be allowed to view Youtube and I'm sure they don't even know what a status update is.

I spent my childhood in a communist country which turned to democracy when I was 5 years old. until then our anthem had the name of the dictator in the lyrics. while I grew up we transitioned to all the freedoms that you've described. I am not insensitive, I know exactly what these people are going through.still, there's more to freedom than what you just described in having and living with less, which is something few people talk about

I agree that OWS is kooky left. But I disagree that socialism will lead to dictatorship. The rules of democracy must not change and a mixture of capitalism and socialism is a better hybrid economy than pure capitalism, especially in the modern world where the culture has disintegrated and neighbors don't help each other when they are down.
