It's not the "World's highest glacier", it's the world's highest ski lift, which is located on or next to a glacier. It's only open in the (southern) summer. As far as the global warming arguments go, I guess there's no way to really know what's causing it, but the fact is glaciers worldwide are shrinking at a rather alarming rate, except in a few rare situations where increased snowfall has overridden the warming effects.

Overall ice melt is huge compared to the past. It may signal not just that ice is melting, but that the warming effect, or energy stored is much greater, when the ice melts it may accelerate temperature increases more quickly. I live in Nova Scotia, ocean temperatures here are getting cooler, but I don't deny global warming, average ocean temperatures are going up. It is not alarmist to take notice of what is happening and attempt to lessen the impact.

There are many thousands glaciers in the world, we've only inventoried a small percentage of them and we monitor an even smaller percentage of them regularly.

The climate will go through heating and cooling periods with or without the intervention of man, we're not going to be able to control it no matter what we do or don't do.

Since the creation of the countries in the world into the Industrial Age Pollution contribution has had significate change to our planet. If you look how the sun's energy is trapped by the Earth's atmosphere to create heat for life to grow you will see a significance in how greenhouse gases is also trapped with the sun's rays to contrubute to the added heating of our planet. Global Warming is the advanced name for pollution and needs to be controlled.

Those crazy climate change people have been trying to bring these issues to the public for decades. I don't think that is last minute.

Bolivia has a limited economy and is heavily indebted to foreign nations. How on Earth are they going to support their infrastructure?
