  • who is this Al Queda looking dude to tell us what we should think....where is your turbin towelhead?

  • The Young Liberal Lefites are FOOLS....

Gingrich is not conservative enough.......we need someone who encapsulates the Tea Party Movement.....

Obama is the WORST POTUS EVER!!!

Hey Bubbleboy........watch us take AMERICA BACK in 2010 and 2012.....

  • This is the only show in the U.S. with that opinion, Newt's the right man for the job.

  • Gingrich is just another DC insider, who is creating the illusion that he would hand this country back to the people. There is no way he'd ever do that. As a former Speaker, he gets a huge sum of money out of the Treasury, a golden retirement package made up of taxpayer money. Gingrich is a snake-in-the grass. He knows Obama quite well and speaks to him on a regular basis. His real goal is to keep any new parties (other than the same old democrats and republicans) out of Washington DC.

  • Gingrich = neocon

  • Republicans don't think Newt is to liberal, he looked like a fool back a so called moderate Dede Scozzafava over the conservative Doug Hoffman, and then Scozzafava dropped out of the race and backed the Democrat. I looked at Scozzafava she isn't a moderate she is a liberal and so called Republicans like her is why the Republicans are losing elections. Reagan won land slide elections, that is the blue print for the Republican Party to win. The last two moderates to run McCain and Dole lost big.

  • He has gone further right? BWAHAHA No, that is why he was booed for suggesting that the republicans should be more moderate?

  • Social conservatives I despise. Fiscal conservatives... we're having a conversation. On some issues I can even agree with them.

This is why I hate labels like 'democrat' vs 'republican'. There should be labels like 'conservative' and 'liberal', which are totally seperate from 'intolerant, gay-hating, self-hating, religious freak' and 'normal, rational modern day human being' - which somehow worked out to equal republican, and democrat (respectively).

  • totally agree. Most Americans are moderate to say the least. To the right on somethings, to the left on others. Goodness how I hope an Independant(rational) party sprouts up.

  • we all need to show up in 2010 and finish this thing off.

  • when these right wing tea party fools say someone is too "liberal" they really mean that the person is too smart....with their "fancy" college words...and deep intellectual analysis....i hate newt gingrich...but i will at least admit he has a brain....he is dead wrong on almost everything....but he at least is an "intellectual".....all of the tea party clowns are irrational loudmouth lunatics....like beck, limbaugh , palin etc....they resent people with an education and real ideas

  • That isn't true at all. I have been to many tea parties. Their certainly is a mix of Ron Paul Libertarians and social conservatives, but all of whom are polite and well meaning individuals who understand the evils of a government grown beyond its bounds. I disagree with Newt Gingrich on social issues but his economic ideas are spot on. In fact they don't go far enough!

Why don't you got to a Tea Party and chat with people there before you spout off Keith Olbermann talking points! Jeez.

  • @TimeWarp66 Gingrich is a fraud and hes no fiscal conservative. Please do more research on his votes and his stated policies, hes a man who will do and say anything (like appearing in an AD campaign with Pelosi to push cap and trade). Please watch this clip on "The real Newt Gingrich"

    watch?v=exs41FdfqpY

  • If the Repugs ran someone fiscally conservative but socially liberal even I would consider voting for their candidate. Luckily, it's not going to happen.

  • You're thinking of the Libertarians.

  • While libertarians claim to socially liberal most of them seem to be closet bigots. Ron Paul's not a big gay rights supporters. And Gingrich claimed to be a libertarian but he's certainly not socially liberal. I'm sure the Libertarians would like gay people to vote for them but they don't want to do anything for them.

  • Real Conservatism died with william f buckley and barry goldwater ..reagan was the first to kill it off ..and now it's been hijacked by bible thumpers, racist, loons, and idiots...with it's figureheads being rush limbaugh, sarah palin, and glenn beck

  • I don't know what flag of conservatism buckley and goldwater flew under. I don't pretend to be an expert in politics or economics. I am fairly good at spotting unusual things though. My family (I'm an atheist) is Mormon and die hard, hate libs, conservative. Many of them voted for Obama because the Republican party has become too extreme for them. Thats the medical equivalent of blood shooting out your nose fire hose style. Not so good.

  • the KKK is coming back

  • We have 1mil Nazis here. Not so surprising.

  • and half those nazis are in the obama administration

  • sadly the kkk never really went away....

  • You are a liar and an idiot. I pity you, terrified and stupid , a drooling vegetable barely concious and frightened of everything. Consider suicide because your future is going to be a living hell.

  • newt gingrich isnt conservative enough? what is this country coming too?

  • Who is calling Newt Gingrich too liberal???? Daniel Carver? David Duke???

  • 20% of the country identifies itself as Republican.

  • Thats still 20% too many.

  • the Republicans are NOT falling off the map, and they have much more than a prayer to win nationally. This is a hyper-conservative, prejudiced, uneducated, and short-sighted country... they will vote Republicans/Conservative en masse in 2010 and ruin life for the rest of us

  • Tim Pawlenty has been OK as a Minnesota Governor, but the recent radical conservative noise he's been making is really troubling. I now am against Pawlenty running for President.

  • captain obvious to the explanation - are you suggesting the two party system is merely a device to distort the reality that the country is much further to the left than big business wants? outrageous -.-

gingrich this little demagogue stump should head something like the southern peasants party

  • i am the biggest loser on youtube, thank you and goodnight

  • I don't know whether to celebrate or cry. What is going on that Washington is so disconnected from mainstream America? How is it that the Republican party is so blind. I just dn't get it.

  • This brings up an interesting point---the neocons purging their party down to all but the hard-core fanatics; talking openly about secession, military juntas, and political violence---I'm beginning to wonder seriously if they don't care about the next election because they really don't intend that it will actually happen. If the last 2 decades have taught us anything about these guys: listen to what they say and take them at their word! They are dangerous fanatics capable of anything.

  • I think that the republicans are going to stick to their current play in washington until after the 2010 elections. If they get positive results in 2010 then they will push the envelope of their crazy idology. If they get negative results then there will be a masive upheaval within the Republican party.

  • I've thought for a long time that the GOP might actually split into two parties. The problem is that the fanatical right-wingers have the organisation, media, and money behind them and the moderates don't.

  • Obama, Palin, Newt, Beck, FDR, Reagan, Bush, ect. all answer to the same people that Jesus, Washington, Robert E. Lee, Patton, Wagner, Napoleon ect. didn't. The last group wants what's best for their people and the first group doesn't think for themselves.

  • We Need an FDR

  • NO! We need Sarah Palin!

  • "Obama the commie is so far left "

Now is he "so" far left?

  • Obama isnt far left hes center right.

FDR was far left, oh and he won 4 times....

  • LOL do you know anything about politics? Newt Gingrich is extreme right!

Has been for years! are you fucking kidding? Hes pretending to be "moderate" because hes not politically stupid.

Also Obama isnt a commie. If he WAS a commie we wouldnt be talking about Public option or Single payer we'd be talking about Socialised Medicine. I.e. Government owned and run Hospitals.

Unfortunately you conservatives are too fucking stupid to know the difference between anything

  • @3star2nr Since when are we talking about Single Payer and the Public Option? Seems to me like we're debating between the Status Quo and.... the Status Quo. Just depends who legislates it.

  • @SirPwn4lot didnt you get the memo? The HCR debates ended and liberals loss, the corporations won yet again. No change now thats what you can believe in

  • @3star2nr tell me about it. Someone who voted for creation of the dept of education, GATT treaty, NAFTA, repeal of Glass Steagall and many other deficit inducing bill is no conservative. Maybe hes very conservative is your definition of conservative is someone who criticizes liberal just for the heck of it and not someone who pushed for limited govt and pro constitution policies.

Then again theres no way for u to know that when TYT only does Headline analysis :)

  • Comment removed

  • Oh boy. Please do pick Palin. PLEASE DO. That will be the END of republicans.

  • Palin probably won't even run, she's too busy raking in cash from idiots like you.

  • jackal912: Or the planet.

  • True, but I was implying that she would be destroyed in the election. Republicans are strangling themselves to death and many of them don't even realize it! At the rate things are going, I wouldn't be surprised if libertarians or some other third party had a good chance of taking the republicans' place in 2012.

  • jackal912: I know. I was being facetious.

  • Greens.

  • Amen dear Jackal, amen.

Lets hope they sabotage themselves by trying to burn the heathens.

  • Hahaha the Republicans ahve been laughing at Gingrich? The very guy who's balls they sucked in the 90's? He's too liberal? Then wow, the Republican party really has become the batshit insane party!

  • Wow, the NEWT IS TOO LIBERAL?..and i thought i had heard everything... O_o

  • If Newt's too liberal for these lunatics, then who's conservative enough? Hitler? Oh wait, I forgot, the teabaggers say that Hitler = Obama.

  • Yeah real smart comment idiot.

  • The big GOP shift seems to be an abandonment of their portion of the middle class, specifically the small business owner. The SB owner in their camp they want to represent has become medium to large. This raising waters lift all ships worked well for them for two decades. In exchange, they see a nice war chest for elections. It seems around 911, SB was handed their hat.

  • Possibly because they realized that they will need to tax them, being they are the largest portion of business in America. Although transferring SB to Democrats seems politically shrewd as they can blame Democrats for screwing Joe the Plumber, the economy is what really gets screwed because they shrink the possibility frontier curve instead of expand it, or lower the tide.

  • This is what happens when politicians serve business instead of the people. It's why they haven't a plan for health care. The GOP doesn't have a plan for anything because they aren't representing anyone that needs a plan. They got theirs.

  • Fuck 'em. Good riddance. Into history's dustbin with outdated and failed political philosophies.

  • Hey GOP here is a good ticket for you in 2012 Limbaugh/Beck too bad McCarthy is dead or you could run him with Michele Bachman or Ann Coulter.

  • He used to hold up a blank piece of paper while saying "here is a list of a hundred university professors". And Red Channels was simply a scam to blackmail people into having their own names "checked" Give them $200 and your name will disappear from that book and an actor or writer could write or act once more.

  • A lot of Republicans actually think Bush was "too liberal" (not kidding). This shows how far to the fucking right they've gone. If they go any further they're going to fall off the spectrum.

  • or make the country fascist.

  • You think Bush, Glenn Beck, Gingrich, ect represent "true conservatism"? These neo-cons and most Repubs. for that matter are "too liberal" I consider myself a moderate but when I hear someone like Hannity say he's a "true conservative" it's laughable. Think beyond the 2 main political parties, liberal, conservative, ect.

  • I agree that those figures aren't "true conservatives". But unfortunately they endlessly bill themselves as such and their kind (Neocons) seem to have taken over the Republican party. There has been an exodus of conservatives from the GOP since Bush was elected.

  • Not only have they been leaking out of the left hand side of the party, but the Libertarians have been scoring a huge number of defectors too.

  • I don't know about Libertarians (at least the Libertarian Party). Economically they're not much better than the Republicans. While they don't support stuff like the bailouts they believe we should have even more deregulation than we currently have - basically recommending more of what caused most of our economic problems in the first place.

  • Just curious, how were our current economic problems caused by deregulation, or better yet, how can more regulations help solve our economic problems?

  • By limiting the amount of money you can loan based on the amount you actually have. Allowing 10X, 20X, or 30X lending power is not only dishonest, it's dangerous for the economyh!

  • What johnedwards1968 is pretty much true. A healthy capitalist economy needs regulation by nature to make sure transactions go smoothly, to ensure that people aren't being ripped off and to make sure things like one party running off with the money and not providing the service they promised to do doesn't happen.

The deregulation of the financial sector and housing market led to all this wild lending and speculation. Deregulation of the workplace has led to redistribution of wealth upwards.

  • Not really. They're moving into the spectrum of Hitler and Tojo.

  • The Democrats need to send someone covert into the republican party and have that operative to campaign against mildly moderate republicans, and say that if they aren't as Conservative/Psycho as Glenn Beck they need to go.

  • The Republican Party needs to kick Newt Gingrich, Lindsay Graham, John McCain, & Snowe out of the GOP!

  • Donald Regan, the President's former Secretary of the Treasury (former CEO of Merrill Lynch investment firm), criticized Reagan for his lack of attention to economics. The major tax bills enacted under Reagan, in the short-term, significantly reduced (~-1% of GDP) government tax receipts. Separated out, however, it is clear that the Economic Recovery Tax Act of 1981 was a massive (~-3% of GDP) decrease in revenues (the largest tax cuts EVER enacted), most if which went to the richest 1%.

  • During Reagan's tenure, income tax rates of the TOP personal tax bracket dropped from 70% to 28%, in 7 years, while social security and medicare taxes INCREASED. He also undermined unions and workers rights. The United States borrowed heavily both domestically and abroad, raising the national debt from $700 billion to $3 TRILLION, and moved from being the world's largest international creditor to the world's largest debtor nation. Thank you, you "piece 0f shyte" reagan!

  • In 1980 the richest 10% of Americans paid $177 billion in federal income taxes. By 1988 they paid $237 billion. The other 90% paid 5 billion dollars less in income taxes. Lawrence Lindsey of the Federal Reserve released a study that taxes paid by the wealthy were higher than they would have been if the top tax rate had remained at 70%. Obviously, our current debt was not caused by tax cuts. Correlation, not causation.

  • LOL! Are you serious? I've heard of cherrypicking statistics, but this is ridiculous!

What were the respective incomes of those brackets in 1980 and 1988????

That's right the top 10% had a MUCH bigger piece of the pie, and so they paid more taxes! LOL

You can make an arguement about lowering taxation, but at least be honest about it. Tricks like that do NOBODY any favours.

  • I saw that too johnedwards1968..typical conservative bullshit.

  • muribry the top 10% own 90% of the wealth and yet they only paid just under 50% of the taxes. How did you miss that fact? It makes the exact opposite point you wanted and makes you look like a fool for not seeing it. Clearly you will never be in that top 10% with such lousey math skills so why do you want them to own you as an indentured wage slave?

  • and what percentage of GDP or % of productivity, did that 10% take for themselves? Thats always the lame excuse...the rich pay so much more taxes versus the other 90% of taxpayers...but you never say how much of ALL INCOME they claim belongs to them...how many billions of dollars did that 10% claim as their "earnings"....compared to what the average american received in wages...it is way out of proportion...they pay huge taxes because they pay themselves outrageous amounts in stock and salary.

  • 1:02 rofl

  • Another problem with Newt and appealing to the current Republican base is that he's too smart. Now don't get me wrong, his politics are garbage, but he's is smart. I think that's probably the most interesting thing about the current Republican party. They seriously value stupidity. You could see this during the election when they'd call Obama an elitist as they mentioned his education while portraying Palin as being "one of us". They saw Bush the same way that they see Palin.

  • Ronald Reagan would be too liberal for the modern conservative movement. After all he raised taxes, "appeased" Gorbachev and supported an amnesty.

  • how did he appease gorbachev?

  • He talked to him.

Thats all it takes to appease a dictator according to some on the right.

  • Ronald Reagan's worst legacy was getting the religious right in politics. Soon enough they all but took over the Republican Party and were in turn taken over by the Neocons.

  • Plus, Reagan didn't believe in pre-emptively attack other nations that were even a remote threat to the U.S.

Plus he didn't believe in uniateralism when it came to dealing with enemies.

Plus Reagan didn't believe that "Democracy was the only way to prevent terrorism.

If Ronald Reagan, and Barry Goldwater could come back from the dead, they would denounce these arrogant-ass lunatic Neocons!

  • You hit the nail on the head. W.F.Buckley and Barry Goldwater used to say that the neocon movement was trending dangerously close to fascism. Reagan admitted before he died that his biggest mistake was making Bush Sr. his VP and Nancy Reagan still says that the Bush Gang wrecked the whole conservative movement.

  • They have been going too far since at LEAST the time of McCarthyism. Each generation is getting worse, first McCarthyism, then Nixon then Iran Contra, then impeaching clinton, then the stuff that Bush did, then on to what FOX is doing today.

  • I didn't know Buckley and Goldwater said those things, but I believe it with my whole heart. I used to be a "Reagan Republican.

I knew what he stood for,and what he did did not, and I know that this "New" Republcan Part is NOT my old party!

If Bush ever writes a book, it should be called: "How To Alienate Your Allies, Wreck The Economy, Run Up A 5 Trillion Dollar Deficit, and Piss Off The World".

  • Ronald Reagan was a fucking dumbass

  • I wouldn't say Reagan was a "dumbass". However, he was upon reflection, a bigoted, close-minded, jackass that plunged us into $400 billion dollar deficit.

He closed mental institutions, shut down drug rehab centers, was anti union, and sold arms to Iraq.......On second thought, he WAS a dumbass!! Lol.

  • Reagan was the start of fascism in America.

Many people still dont realize that thats the ultimate goal of all "conservatives" To implement Fascism.

Government by the corporations for the corporations.

The only thing preventing this is the rise of a strong Progressive opposition, and the fact that people are embracing more liberal ideas, and trying to balance the country.

  • "Reagan was the start of fascism in American" Hmmm let me see. Well, truth be told, in retrospect, I'd say the seeds for facism really started with Goldwater in '64.

When he said: "Extremism in the protection of freedom, is no vice". I really think that seed was planted right then and there.

  • That ill give you, but Goldwater was never president.

Reagan was president and started deregulation of corporations, and also attacking unions etc. Stuff that spelled the beginning of the end.

In terms of earlytraces of Fascism in america, That had existed all the way to back in the days of FDR and WW2. There was a very storng Facsist movement operating in the USA. It was strongly promoted by people like Henry Ford, etc

  • "Goldwater was never president". True. I grew up in Detroit, and it's a documented fact that Henry Ford was racist, dictatorial, and hated "weak people". He also believed that war was good for young manhood and that weak ppl should be eliminated or at least oppressed.

3star & Mega, and Mopsius, you guys really know what you're talking about....Kudos!!!

  • @YoozaLie He was not anti union. The airtraffic controllers deserved firing. They should not have been striking.

  • @YoozaLie What kind of authority-worshiping idiot falls for the 'Reagan increased the deficit' lie?

Don't you sheeple know who controls the size of the budget? The House of Representatives. Who controlled the House? Liberal Democrats. Reagan 'shut down government' because he was refusing to sign the Democrats' massive spending increases. But the Liberal Media painted that as his fault, until he had to compromise. Imagine how much bigger the deficit would have been if he had just given in.

  • @KAZVorpal do you realize that everytime you call someone a "sheeple" you are only defining yourself as a "sheeple" to the person who created that term, and we all know who that is, yet everytime one of you people get called on it you deny listening to that brain dead toilet mouth person who created that term.

  • @BeingNobody1956 I don't give a crap who coined the term; it's a good summary of the mindset of collectivist and herd mindsets.

  • WRONG FRANKLIN D. ROOSEVELT

  • Bush and Cheney, and earlier US administrations, according to the Russians, broke Reagan's unwritten agreement with the Soviets not to recruit ex-Soviet Bloc Nations into NATO.

There is every reason to believe the Russians' version over the American.

  • Two of Reagan's personal protegees are still serving in the Senate: John McCain and Arlen Specter. That was conservative by 1980s standards. The dolts who paint themselves as 'conservative' today are closer to where David Duke was then.

  • Agreed. David Duke is a good analogy: Racist, homophobic, warmongering, isolationist, etc. Good point!

  • Hey Jackass David Duke would not have the US fighting in any wars for Israel.

  • Hey, cuntface, David Duke would have us join alliances with Iran, Syria, and the rest of the muslim world against Israel........Starting World War III.

    YOU IGNORANT-ASS, INBRED MORON!!!

  • he also ran from the middle east after a terrorist attack

  • And still going on and actually getting worse--the prison industrial complex, a marvel of privatization.

But Angela Davis is the only one describing it and she's a Communist so naturally it must all be a lie, right.?

There really aren't more people in prison in the US per capita and absolutely than in either Communist China or the Russian Federation?

Oh no! Can't be. The US is the greatest show--I mean country--on earth!

Step right up, step right up. Just ask Limbaugh or Beck or Hannity.

  • Greatest show on earth indeed. Limbaugh the rotund, loud-mouthed ringmaster. Beck the sad-faced clown and Hannity the barker.

  • And today, still going on the fucking big money pig factories, beshitting the landscape.

But oh, that real Virginia ham--no FDA approval for that.

    It might be tainted, HAHAHAHAHA.

The US is a bunch of dumbasses ruled by an elite of belligerent, greedy, murderous Barnums.

But if everyone is mum, well none of it happened.

  • Fucking rivers polluted beyond imagination by Capitalist industries--how beautiful.

Buffalo a chemical soup, Gary a hell hole.

What has Captialism wrought, oh yes.

  • With my own eyes and not that long ago in the coal mining hills--folk barefoot in homespun carrying their one pair of shoes, with no schools or hospitals--nothing--while the Mine Owners raped their land and took it for all it was worth in coal, while they got nothing.

What made America great oh yes--for the greedy, murderous, inhuman few.

  • And much more recently--uranium cities in the West, now ghost towns, with miners told by that there was no hazard to their lungs--yeah right.

Dying in droves later in life and no care.

    America the beautiful--yeah right.

Or Agent Orange or depleted uranium and veterans with radioactive semen giving their wives cervical cancer.

Behold beautiful, magnificent Capitalism, yeah right.

  • The US is a predatory capitalist warfare state.

The US is communism for the rich, capitalism for the poor.

The US is from each according to need, to each according to excess.

  • The US is a Fascist state thats the reality.

The more "conservative" it becomes the closer we get to full blown Fascism.

The bush and reagan administrations were the first overtly fascist governments ever elected by this country.

  • Newt is the guy who divorced his wife when she was in the hospital dying of breast cancer. And the right-wing thinks he's too liberal?

  • I have grown to wish for something against my own ethnicity's self interest.

I wish for the end of "White" America.

White America is the quivering spine of the GOP, mired in outdated, bigoted racism, knee-jerk homophobia, platitudinous vain religiosity, and all the ignorance that a redneck, fundamentalist creationist, war mongering, self serving, hypocritical subculture can bring to bear against a world which has passed.

If "White America" disappears, there is hope for everyone else.

  • You mean "Jewish" and "White Traitor" America? because it hasn't been "White" America for a long time buddy. When it was "White" America things were a lot better for the people who built this nation up though. Don't be duped by the media which is anti-white, I know it's hard to ? what you've been fed your whole life by "Anti-white" America but you must if you want to effectively change the way things are. No, I'm not an ignorant, anti-semite, redneck, racist, ect. for giving you these facts.

  • By "built up" you mean slash and burn and murder across a continent, right? And a war between the states which only the railroads won,

    Yeah right.

And also this faux hillbilly racist crap--the hill folks were still living poor as church mice forty years ago.

You are remembering what never existed, BoondockWolf--typically jingo braindead right winger.

  • "You mean "Jewish" and "White Traitor" America? "

"I'm not an ignorant, anti-semite, redneck, racist"

Ah, thanks BoondockWolf, for delivering a timely and succinct affirmation of everything I stated to be true.

    Oh, the irony.

"White America" was a lot better for the people who built the country?

Would that be the African slaves, or the murdered Native Americans?

    You are a moron.

PS. Jewish people ARE "white" you fucking loser.

  • White guilt and name calling, you people are pathetic as you are predictable. As if two wrongs make a right and it was all the whites fault, no Jewish influence at all. Are you guys really that naive. I don't hate all Jews by any means and don't believe in a witch-hunt for them but the "chosen ones" with power and influence in white nations clearly identify as non-white enough to be against the white races very existence.

PS. Youtube: Was America Ever A White Nation and have a nice day guys.

  • A US for humankind will be stronger, safer, more prosperous, and be able to contribute culturally and intellectually to the world. Which is how it started out, but which lasted so briefly, and mainly as an ideal never effected--not for blacks, not for Indians, not for French or Spanish or German or Dutch speakers, not for immigrants or all kinds--and not even for most "whites", if the truth be told.

  • When Palin becomes President, she will put all ethnic minority groups into internment camps and make America an ALL-WHITE nation! She will kill off all the Chinese when she NUKES China to complete obliteration and wipe the Chinese around the world to EXTINCTION! America will truly reach its full glory when it truly becomes an ALL-WHITE nation!

  • lol, you're silly

  • yes , that would be a great idea , china would just sit back and let that happen ! Oh no , wait a minute they would lay america to waste with their own nukes . Are you familiar with fallout 3 ?

  • He's trolling, buddy. Don't take what he says seriously.

  • For the first time, I chuckled at one of your comments, ecwaufisxtreme. Well done.

  • I am assuming mospius is seriously trying to spam these comments and am marking every comment by them as spam (about 40) They should get a life

  • Yes

  • They seem to be sleeping straight through their rude awakening...

  • It sucks that democrats' solution is to move to the right as the republicans drag them along to crazy town. So now we have a republican party (the demss) and the crazy people.

  • At this point its no longer conservatives vs. liberals...

Its the Insane vs. everyone else...

  • One user posted almost 40 comments. Is that spam?

  • No.

    Is that forty one?

  • I am marking all your crap as spam. get a life mopsius

  • Why not? There is nothing in any of my comments directed at the likes of you.

  • Seems anyone these days whose surname isn't Limbaugh, Coulter, or Beck is "too liberal."

  • Gingrich is too Liberal? hehe. Okay guys, am i being punk'd? Am I?

  • I suspect that in the US elections aren't determined by what the majority of the country wants but instead by voter turnout. Have you guys thought of compulsory voting? It works well here in Australia.

If enough people are disillusioned then the republicans win because the crazy people turn out to vote and the moderates/liberals stay home.

  • That's kind of right. At the end of the day, elders tend to vote more than young people.

  • You're exactly right which is why Republicans are swift boating ACORN.

  • Watchin the racist ol party tear itself apart is wonderful. Next up the Dems then America can start anew.

  • Actually, this is a dangerous and scary thing... that leaves the dems without a check.

The republicans used to stand for something, though that seems so long ago I don't think it has since before my lifetime.

The dems are so conservative now, it's crazy. I think we've all forgotten the meaning of "liberal" and "progressive" when we can't even manage to sell the idea of a single payer plan.

  • How are the Dems Conservative? We need a 3rd party, and a ban on lobbyists.

  • That's exactly right. Although it might look like the right-wing of politics is self-destructing it's actually embedded itself deeper than it ever could in a 2-party system. The left wing is now what the old right wing was, and the old left wing has completely disappeared.

I have to say well played to the right wingers. They completely usurped the system.

  • Yes. Obviously.

An ever shrinking base (20% and falling) and multiple consecutive political losses at every level definitely point towards right wing "strategery" (that means "strategy" in common parlance).

Committing political suicide is a clear sign of beltway bureaucratic genius.

I assume you are either high, or trying out for Mr. Sarcasm 2009 ?

  • I think you're missing the point. Listen to what Cenk is saying, yes the Republican party is driving itself off a cliff by going to greater and greater extremes, but the left is moving into the positions that used to be the right wing ideology (don't mess with the free market, a single payer health care system is socialism, etc.)

What we used to consider the conservative or right-wing position is now the position espoused by the so-called liberal left. The actual left is dead and buried.

  • I do not disagree about the slide toward center by the dems, however, your attribution of this to a stratagem of the Right makes little sense.

I see this as simple greed. Capitalism spawns greed in politicians through lobbyists.

Greed and business have become part and parcel of the GOP. Now the DNC has had a taste as well.

But, a moderate DNC is by no stretch the extreme of religious fascist neo cons we currently see in the GOP.

I see this as a slide toward centrism, nothing more.

  • I wasn't trying to compare the democratic to the republican party. And of course the motivation is money, not ideology, but that's simply human nature and true for republicans and democrats alike.

Thing is, what is now considered "moderate" in the US and what you call "centrism" is actually considerably right-wing, the same is happening here in Europe.

What we have left now is extreme right and somewhat moderate right. To me that is not a desirable situation.

  • This is a joke, right?

The republican party is just one big monty python skit

  • we should stop refering these bunch of crazies as Republicans & called them what they are; Xenophobic,Ultra Fascist-Nationalist Right wing Christian Taliban or Nationalist Puritan Party(N.P.P.) their symbol should be the Rat.

  • I love the Nationalist Puritan Party! Good call. lol

  • The Republican Party does not seem to know the difference between their ass and a hole in the ground. There 'is' a difference.

  • Hey guys, subscribe to my show, The Third Hour. A progressive talk show similar to The Young Turks

  • This is as surprising as the WBC protesting Jerry Falwell's funeral because he didn't hate gays enough!
