Jeg støtter USSR i Afghanistan; deres mål var å støtte den demokratiske regjeringen. USAs mål er å få tilgang til Iran hvor de kan ta olje! Som i Irak og Libya.

I don't remeber very well but the movie's title is CARGO 300.

Anyway, soviet invasion was stopped by Mujaheddin just with Ak-47 and 74, RPG and.......FIM-92 Stinger and Milan missile launcher. A lot of Mil-24, Mig and T-tank family were destroyed by Mujaheddin with this weapons. I think in that particular decade, Usa military technology was hundred time better than Soviet Union and in case of conventional war beetween two block, Usa (Nato better...) win the war after many years.

USSR's goal was not to win the war, but to help the Afganish people to find the way out of the situation. That's what's happening in Afghanistan now. USA and the allies are trying to help the Afghanish government and Afghanish people. No war has been won by gerilja-groups (AK-47 can not win against B-52).

USSR had a deal with Afghanistan about military help, therefore the USSR went into Afghanistan. You can just google the names ‘Rabbani’ and ‘Hekmatiar’. At that time Iran was friendly to USSR, but it considered USA as an enemy, so USSR had no point in controlling oil production in the Gulf.
