it is actually in the start menu but when i try to open it an error message comes up saying it can't open, i should be getting it checked out by someone soon
Also, are you sure you've not got Movie Maker? When you wipe your PC and reinstall Windows, you should get Movie Maker back instantly, I'd have a look for it if I were you, it could be in your start menu.
