I am saying this as a Les Miserables fan. Nick Jonas did good. Outstanding even. He looks like Marius, he sounds like Marius and I am quite surprised when I heard him at the O2. I was in the Royal Albert Hall during the 10th anniversary and I felt the same sensation when I heard Ball's voice and Jonas' voice. That made me realize that this young man has actually some potential in the theaters.

If you think Nick should sing like this more often, I have to disagree with you. This voice is a theatre voice. This isn't Nick. He is singing as another character. He did absolutely fantastic in this song. But, if he sang in this voice all the time, it wouldn't be Nick. Nick can sing. He always could.

What is great about this is that he sounds young. As silly as that may sound, it brings the emotion through so much more hauntingly as compared to say Michael Ball. Michael Ball is amazing no doubt but he doesn't sound like a young man the age of Marius. Good work Nick!

One other thing, in reference to NJ's vocal strength/capacity: I'm a singer many years, different styles, etc. Can tell you from experience that time, practice and proper training are going to take care of that. This boy has the bedrock for one hell of a stage voice; plus, a good voice in its teens gains depth and power only with age and good coaching. Check him out 10-15 years from now... You'll see.
