Shirley may not have felt the same as the song suggests personally but I think she was singing a song that related to sooo many women during that era. Back then women were not so easy to leave the man because he was the bread winner so they did call the other woman. However, I disagree with the song's premise that she has to call the other woman to tell HER to back off instead of telling the man to leave her alone or leaving him.. It is a dumb song but it is how so many of us lived back then.
