  • why would you do that to a porsche leave the porsche alone

  • this might serve up cheap hp as compared to a Porsche engine but what does it do for the value of the car ?

  • ... you put a Chevy engine in a Porsche? Please move off this planet. thanks.

  • @RicerSchnitzzle Oh....you might want to reconsider punching it to a 434. I was considering doing it also but my machinist built a few and said they have major cooling issues.

  • @RicerSchnitzzle I have to agree! No one understands the extreme prices to build a porsche right. I don't want to spend 20k on a motor because it says "Porsche". Spend 5k on a motor that says "Chevy" and get more power. You can have built 928 V8 or a 928 with a built chevy sbc, if you never pop the hood, no one could ever tell the difference!

  • waste of a 928

  • that things cool as hell what are you people talking about.it also looks like something off of THE SIMS!

  • yeah- def would have gone NA. that blower is nuts. but hey, your car.

  • what the fuck is that losers music

  • and here i was scared of getting sideways in a GTS. i would shit myself if i was going strait in your 928+blower.

  • HAHAHA you are such a sad little man. It sounds like I've backed you into a corner. Does your hick mother still help you write your replies to these comments?

  • it's also funny that you think I'm a hairy backed European when it's probably actually you with that problem and your trying to draw attention away from it and your other "inadequacies" shall I say...again, good try, but you fail big time

  • @FullBloodedItalian30

The reason I think you are a "hairy backed European" is your login name. But of course, just like everything else in your life, that's probably a lie.

  • @FullBloodedItalian30 @truvkngfan

you both fail big time for being dumbass enough to argue over the internet. my fucking god.

  • notice your terrible grammar "no hicks and rednecks can't survive the MN winter"... I shouldn't have to say more but you just called yourself a redneck hick...good try though...I'm sure all inbred hillbillies just breed like crazy up there in those MN winters...i'm also sure you had trouble getting passed the 3rd grade...thats probably the reason why you thought ruining this car like that was a good idea...hey! maybe you should paint some flames on it to make it go faster! it's also hilarious t

  • @FullBloodedItalian30

What is funny is that you are trying to make fun of my grammar and then use the world's longest run-on sentence. Now that is irony. Of course some of these words are probably too difficult for you to understand, so while you are at the library using their internet, look these up in the dictionary. Sorry, not alot of pictures in one to keep you entertained.

  • how in the hell could you ever do such a thing to a porsche...you must be some redneck hick to ever even think of ruining a car like this like that...it's actually disgusting and I'd actually be embarrassed to drive such a hideously misshapen and ruined form of a once beautiful car

  • @FullBloodedItalian30 Notice the plates man, no hicks and rednecks can't survive the MN winter. Of course, whats more emberassing is the hairy ass back you have to live with, talk about hideous and misshapen.

  • Is that seriously an automatic? disgusting

  • @kyledude120

Is that seriously your face? disgusting

  • @truvkngfan it would have 40% more horsepower if it was manual, plus automatic gear boxes are much heavier, and gay

  • Hoplite - hell yeah

  • Only in America

  • @hoplite46

    Hell yeah!

  • I don't care if that car can outrun a Veyron, it's just plain vulgar. It looks like a redneck camaro with the blower growing out of the hood. The 928 was such a classy, well balanced car with great power for it's time. I have also seen them with a supercharger or turbo and the stock hood in place. Why the obscene blower? Why not a built 500+hp small block instead?

  • @giantmidget08

Why didn't your mom use a hangar on you instead, the whole world would be better off.

  • @truvkngfan lmao...

  • Great job, really nice car. What an improvement over the original! The ivy league porsche guys are just sore because you have a better idea. I think they need more fiber in their diets, like grits and field peas!!!!

  • did they really have to paint it that color

  • Another unnecessary swap where a wonderful, sophisticated European engine has been replaced with the automotive equivalent of Alabama...

  • @EccentricRichard fyi, chevy motors have won more races than all other makes combined, including Ford or Porsche. i don't need an ivy league diploma, fake sun tan and hair spray to go fast.

  • @kenzo5716 - I don't give a fuck. I've got a lot of respect for the Chevy V8, it's a fine engine FOR THE RIGHT APPLICATION. But, for the money spent on putting it in this 928, it would have been far better to keep the Porsche quad-cam V8 - oh, wait, overhead camshafts are akin to heresy in the USA. The 928 is supposed to have an engine that's quick-revving, not that's all laziness and torque. Burgers are nice, Black Forest gateau is nice, but you wouldn't want to mix the two. Same goes for cars.

  • @EccentricRichard I doubt the Porsche engine revs as fast as my 406 chevy small block. It certainly won't out power it. Also, comparing a stout running small or big block Chevy to a measley 928 motor is more like comparing a juicy New York T-Bone steak to wienerschnitzel!

  • @kenzo5716 - the 5-litre 928 can be tuned to about 650bhp no bother - and sounds much nicer than your lump of American pig-iron (which, incidentally, weighs about the same as a small boat, so spoils a concept with which you Americans are unfamiliar, called HANDLING). This car has still been spoiled.

  • @EccentricRichard "the 5-litre 928 can be tuned to about 650bhp no bother"... yeah, sure. And, that extra hp will cost you 5 times what it would cost to get the same power from a superior Chevy small block. Additionally, the 928s motor weighs 575.4 lbs about identical to a small block chevy that weighs in at 575lbs with iron heads and intake. My 406 uses AFR CNC ported aluminum heads and Edelbrock aluminum intake and weighs a little over 500 lbs, lighter that the beer can 928 motor.

  • @kenzo5716 - I don't know about cost, but I'd say that calling the Chevy small-block 'superior' to a far more sophisticated engine like the 928's is subjective, to say the least. Also, I seriously doubt your figures - a 5-litre alusil V8 just as heavy as an all-iron 5.7 litre engine? Anyway, cost be damned, authenticity is more important. Now, if you wanted a mega-fast front-engined small block-powered sports car, do it to a '60s Corvette Stingray. I'd love to see that. This? No.

  • @EccentricRichard I was absolutely correct on the weights of the engines. Just google the motors and see for yourself. You call complicated "sophisticated". The two are not synonymous . My small block motor weighs less and will put out far more horsepower per dollar spent. As a matter of fact, putting a small block Chevy into a 928 is a popular swap and kits of various types are sold over the internet. An Chevy LS7&6 speed/928 swap is quite popular.

  • @kenzo5716 - so a 2vpc OHV iron engine is as sophisticated as a 4-cam 4vpc alusil engine with VVT? Bollocks, my dear chap =)

Cheapness doesn't matter with thoroughbreds like the 928, what matters is authenticity. Your S/B doesn't even sound right, for pity's sake, and certainly won't rev as high as the 928 motor did (redline at 7500rpm IIRC). Also, the 6-speed that goes with the LS (the Tremec T-56) feels like it came out of a tractor - not like Porsche's beautiful rear-mounted transaxle 'box.

  • @EccentricRichard nobody said anything about "cheap". It's more about wasted dollars to get the same results. Actually the 6 speed is well designed and more durable than the lightweight Porsche number. It seems to work well in the Z06 Corvette. Actually, the small block sound is an improvement over the whimpy whining of the Porche slug. It wreaks of muscle and brawn, not wheezing and straining of the Porsche motor.

  • @kenzo5716 - it ain't wasted when it preserves the car's character. The gearbox in the Corvette may be more durable than the Porker's 'box, but its shift quality is woeful. Also, the s/b may sound good, but it sure as hell won't make that spine-tingling snarl up to the redline... now, if you want to hear a REAL V8, go look up the Ferrari F360. Five valves per cylinder, flat-plane crank, 9000rpm redline... and it howls like a wounded beast.

  • @kenzo5716 - However, I still say that the best engine configuration ever is the V12. Like the flat-6 (as used by Chevy in the Corvair, Subaru in the Legacy, Liberty and Tribeca, and Porsche in the 911, the Boxster and the Cayman) and the straight-six (as used by pretty much everyone, though sadly now only by BMW, Volvo and Ford Australia), and the flat-12 (Ferrari), it has inherently balanced primary and secondary moments - so no need for balancer shafts or weights! Take that, V8s and V6s!

  • @kenzo5716 - also, I think you'll find most 928 owners are not posers. Most Porsche owners aren't posers. You want pose? Go find a Ferrari owner. Someone who has a 928 is a true connoisseur, being happy to have a ballistic missile on wheels while not shouting about it. It's understated. You'll never find the fake tan and gelled hair brigade driving 928s.

  • @EccentricRichard tell that to my wife's limp-wristed hair dresser! He's got one. Makes him trendy, ya know? hahaha!

  • @EccentricRichard It's nice to see what a 928 with balls runs like!

  • Fantastic job! I am amassing parts right now to V8 my 944! Love the Porsche looks & style, but no balls at all. Gonna try to keep mine low-key though.

  • I'm not a fan of this one. Looks like muscle car mixed into a Porsche. 2 different platforms of car. Doesn't mix well in my stomach. However, looks like you did a nice job on the conversion though and I'm sure it's still fun as hell.

  • soooo sad :-(

a part of me just died witnessing this atrosity

  • Wrong wrong wrong on so many levels...it's like Rack of lamb with McDonald fries....or Doritos and 40 year old port, you can can do it but you really shouldn't advertise it.

  • There is a Porsche Club out there somewhere plotting to lynch you at this very moment.

  • that thing is terrible...what a crime

  • From a stylish supercar to a johnnycar...

Love American musclecars though, but this is just plain ugly...

  • What happened to the original engine? Did it cash? Cheaper to do this to that car or get another 5liter?

  • looks great, but i think pretty much anything with a blower sticking out of the hood does

  • Strosek did a 928 s4 supercharged version, and it was more "Porsche" if you know what I mean....still a great job but I don't like the outside at all!

  • Hmmm...I'm kinda torn on this one. I LOVE the fact its a v-8 conversion, but it just kinda ruins it for me to see that huge bug-catcher sticking out the hood. Looks to me though like a clean and well done conversion, and for that truevikingfan I gotta pat you on the back. Even as I type this its starting to grow on me, so well done bro!

  • sorry bud but im a huge lover of porsches in their original format format...altho you did do a nice job but its as the saying goes porsche there is no substitute

  • Not a fan of the big ass chunk of metal sticking out of the hood. Besides that it is a cool conversion. That blower is just too much for the porsche style, its bad enough it has an american motor.

  • dude, thats pretty sick. im thinkin about gettin a 928 for myself, but ive got nowhere near the budget to do anything like that with it. nice to see guys like you doing fun stuff for guys like me to watch. lol :)

  • i myself would love to see that lovely engine in a sick muscle car....but this car is still sweet!

I always love it when people make a general statement and end by saying "proven fact" even with no proof laid out behind it. Asking me to do the math to prove your "theory" is absurd. Do you think Albert Einstein walked into a room of scientist and said E=MC2, prove it bitches!

  • im with you buddy , besides it is your car

if you put a pinto mortor in it i would still be on your side

  • "Do you think Albert Einstein walked into a room of scientist and said E=MC2, prove it bitches! "

Actually this is exactly the way scientists work. First rule is to let others criticize and disprove a scientific theory. Scientists beg others to prove the theory wrong - because if it is wrong then we get a better theory. Theories are placed out into the public for everyone else to closely analyze. Einstein was a mathematician more than a scientist. You need a little lesson on history.

I know you are respected on Rennlist and such and probably should already know that this car had a chevy in it when I got it. And nice guess on how much it takes to get 600 ho with a chevy block, more like around 5000 the way I did it, and turbo would be a hell of a lot less.

  • You telling me you can install a fuel injected 600 HP chevy engine...turn key for $5,000? That's complete BS. The engine alone would run north of that and then you have the install and buy the conversion kit. To each his or her own. I just grew tired of people claiming how much cheaper it is to go with Chevy power and hearing about how much better the Chevy engine is. Turbo car will resell an order of magnitude faster than a Chevy swap.

  • I never said you could install one for that, your claim was it would take 15k to build a 600 hp chevy. And the engine only cost me 5k. BTW, I never attacked any Porsche engine, you came to me and started your little rant here...

  • No rant at all...I simply stated that more HP/$ can be made with the Porsche engine. Never even mentioned turbo until you brought it up. You should not be so on edge about all of this. It's your car and you did what you wanted with it. My comments were not even directed to you, but to others wanting to go this direction...I only cautioned them on the costs which are always underestimated with these conversions. Nobody at Renegade would answer my cost questions either. Go figure...

  • "I only cautioned them on the costs which are always underestimated with these conversions"

The costs are always fudged and lied about. For one thing people do not include the time as part of the cost. Labor costs money. They usually only include parts of the costs into the calculation and brag about just those particular costs (i.e. it is biased to look cheaper, so they can feel better about all the time and money they wasted). Oh and time = money. Custom fabrication = time.

  • you can get a corvette engine for less than 4,000

In all that I have said anywhere I have never told anyone else that this is what they need to do to their 928. I also never said that starting from scratch, this is cheaper than boosting a stock 928. However, while a stock 928 still sticks out in traffic, this does so even more. Why don't you take any stock looking (blown or not) 928 and ride next to me. Then we can "prove" which car gets more positive attention from the vast majority of the general public.

  • To each his own. I really don't care to stick out as you indicate.

  • "Then we can "prove" which car gets more positive attention from the vast majority of the general public. "

Uhm this is not about proving who gets more attention. It is about proving COSTS, you lamer. Also, if you wanted to get laid and get attention on your crotch, the ugly redneck engine isn't going to attract beautiful Norse Viking girls, nor is it going to attract tall European pretty girls. Camaro girls? yes. But this wasn't about proving "attention". You are an attention whore it seems.

  • Damn, I almsot missed this one, It seems that you are the one looking for attention by deciding to post your opinion somewhere. And thanks for your concern with my sex life, must not have one of your own to think about.

  • you should have kept the Porsche motor and supercharged it that chevy moter is not right it dosent go.

  • Sorry it doesn't meet your approval, but it wasn't built for you. As far as the motor, the Chevy was in there when I got it, and by the way, the car does go...

  • Great pull out a nicely engineered well built engine and replace it with an ugly, gaudy cast iron American mass produced piece of Chevy SHIT ! Guess when you cant work on the real thing you shouldnt own Porsche

  • Ok, first off what might be beautidul to you is not necessary the saem for others. I didn't make this car for you. In fact, when I got the car it already had a chevy in it. Second, if german engineering is soooo amazing why should I have to work on it at all. Thirdly, I hate to tell you this but the 928, and basically every other Porsche has all been mass produced, so its not like the original Porsche motor would have been one of a kind. Thanks for your comments though....

  • Eh, I'm not impressed...and, what the fuck -Norah Jones?

  • Do you think I give a fuck if you are impressed or not?

  • I'd feel too bad taking a PORSCHE engine out of that thing.

  • I don't tend to lose sleep over much, and just like I need to explain to everyone else, i did not buy the car with a porsche motor in it.

  • yeah, haha. you still have an amazing car.

  • two of the grates sport cars ever amican v8 euro chassie

  • lol this is basically what im doing to my 944, although being a college student it's going to be shittier, i got my $1,000 porsche 944 and once i finish fixing her all up, im planning on re-building the 5.7L 350 from my Chevy Suburban and dropping it in the 944, im hoping to get good results lol

  • you crazy ass americans XD great idea^^

    very nice

  • i have owned a 76 911s and have taken shit

from all the porsche pureists for any change

i say screw em ever hear of the 912,944?

porsche has made some bad cars too.

the weight ,braking, cornering is shot and you

could make a very fast ''anything''with that

    engine.good on ya!

  • What an appalling mess.

  • nice

  • hey do you know what they did with the old engine because if you still have it im interested in buying it

  • I love the colour it is unique.

I love the bug-catcher on top of the bonet, it looks very tough. Its got balls and it goess like it has balls. That's how a 928 should go, like a rocket. The tyres spin without breaking a sweat! I had a 928 and i would love something like this! A sexy look with an American muscle engine that doesn't send you broke!

I love it. Good work!!! Nice post.

    Cheers Vince

  • that's the most wicked 928 mod I've ever seen! I hate the color thought... would 've looked better in black imo...

  • way to ruin a classic

  • You see it one way, I see it another

  • you're right..

    i have the 944S2.

keeping it the way they made it in 1991 is the best way to keep it.

Porsche designers knew how it should have looked like, if u dont like the car/ want to change it in any way. buy another car that u DO like.

  • well that is HIS car and he can do whatever the fuck he wants with it. i would have prefereably put a ford 351cleveland or a 400 big block in it. but the chevy is useable. and that engine doesn't cost a million bucks to repair if damaged, unlike the Porsche engine.

  • im on this guys side (chrono) my 944 was mis-used and i got it for only 1k, would u rather have me junk it? or put my 350 small block from my suburban into her? the porsche will get plenty of use this way, rather than paying the thousands and thousands to restore it how it was.

  • You can make more HP for less $ with the stock 928S4 engine as compared to a Chevy swap. Proven fact.

Do the math on what an injected 600 HP chevy conversion really runs, then report back. Parts, labor and time.

When people say it's chaeper, they tend to leave out the hundreds of hours involved to pull it off. And don't even tell us how you can go carbed...that's a step backwards bigtime.

I'd say to get 600 HP with chevy power, you are easily at $15,000 to make it all come together.

  • I like that you put a cheap old Chevy engine into a 928 but that big shiny hunk of machinery sticking out of the hood ruins it. Maybe its true what they say about men who try to compensate for their short comings with flashy cars.

  • you must have thought i was trying to impress 'you'. Wrong. As for compensating, you can choke on it, becuase you would be.

  • Ha Ha Ha,,,, you silly "little" man!

  • You know what they say, those with little self confidence or their own flaws try to point out problems with others...

  • That IS what they say isn't it?... All joking aside, Nice job on the 928!

  • Thank you...

  • no offense, but that blower makes the porsche look really ugly. at least its fast lol.

  • none taken, thanks for your opinion.

  • this has got to be the gayest thing i have ever seen, and i have seen nine guys fuck eight guys

  • You must have been one of the eight!

  • YOU SURE SHOWED ME!!!1!1!11!1ONE11!ONE!10

But seriously though this is gayer than aids

  • maybe one day they will find the cure for you

  • there is no cure for badass

  • more like dumbass

  • more like aidsbaby

  • doesn't even make sense. BTW, did you get that broken down camaro out of your front yard yet?

  • more like surprise buttsecks!!!11!1!1!ONE1!10 btw its a Trans-Am, FAG

  • WTF is 11!1!1!ONE1!10, too much butsex apparently makes you speak gibberish. That or too much pillow biting ruined your speech.

  • IT IS SECRET INTERWEBS CODE!!11!1!1!ONE1!1ONE!!1!1!111!10

    You spelled buttsecks incorrectly.

  • you would know

  • leave to the americans to screw up a perfectilly eganeierd german powered car/

  • leave it to a blimey to have no imagation

  • i dont think so

  • I don't think so what?

  • i wouldnt have done that, but thats me, im sure thats a crazy fast car:)

  • Very nice, I can't believe how many haters are commenting though! I think people need to read the posters comments, this car came with NO engine. I know "hotrodders" get whinged about for modifying cars... but it also releases parts for restorers to use. Porsche 928s are not super rare, this one is great and being looked after and not slowly dying of neglect in the hands of someone who can't maintain it. Well Done

  • Is the SBC really lighter than the original lump? I remember picking up a 928 bare block at a show when they first came on the market, could not believe how light it was, no problem to carry in one hand. Mind you it was a bare block....

  • yep, id rather a chevy v8 than a porker V8, they are even that good anyway, as they dont have liners so repairs are alot more expensive... gorgeous car by the way!

  • Because a Porsche engine with 600hp would have been $30,000+. Because pretty much anyone can work on a Chevy V8, and Import mechanics charge $70 an hour. Because these cars only cost a few thousand dollars, a rebuilt engine would run more than $10,000, and then after you installed your rebuilt Porsche engine, it would only be worth $5-6,000.

Many reasons, pick one... If this was a rare Classic, say a 356 or an older Carrera, I'd understand the uproar, but the 928 is a pretty common car

  • Not true...a 600+ HP 928 S4 can be built for around $25,000 total...including the car. See my videos...my car was $10K and the car was put together for under $25K total...makes 635HP. The days of no performance parts available for 928s are over...lots of good stuff now.

  • I hate to admit it, but the SBC is a LOT cheaper to maintain and fix, IF it needs repair. Reliability is a beautiful thing. I own a 968 and the thing is a money pit. The 928 is worse for parts, cost to service, and complexity. I guess I am an idiot since I keep buying Porsche products. The 928 is a technically complex car - FACT. Yes, it (was) an exotic in it's time and the cost to keep one of these running means you have to have at least $8K or more put aside for any surprises.

  • I'm sorry but, I like ingenuity as much as the next guy but putting another engine in a porsche is really stupid. The porsche V8 is actually a pretty reliable power plant, of course more expensive. I'm really am not impressed with 'Franken cars' like this. Keep it Porsche!

  • I can see your point of view....maintaining the Porsche drivetrain is ideal. However, when you've a car minus the engine and transmission....and there's an available domestic drivetrain available...why let the car rot? The rebuild kits for the Porsche V-8s make it unfeasible for 95% of those that have one of these cars(a friend of mine had one, a blue '81, auto transaxle). Similar argument for the V-12 Jaguars of the late 1970's...

  • Well you've done a really great job anyway.

  • this site is full of europeans who have zero experience with an american v8. they are always spouting about how crappy our "insert anything american made" is. but can you fault someone for wanting to build a reliable engine for a reasonable price with easily attainable parts or should they keep the overpriced porsche motor because some guy across the pond said they didnt have a real porsche?

  • amen my brother...

  • NICE job truvkingfan!

I gave serious thought to a blower, it's hard to stuff one in the back of a 911 without destroying the structural integrity of the car. Did you get the conversion kit from RH ?

I stuck with a good old carb and got 400 HP.

Click on my tag, there's a pic of my conversion.

I like the way you are thinking!

  • Oh my.......I'd hate to get embarassed on the street when this thing pulls up aside me :)!! This has got to be one of the sickest things I've ever seen...WOW!

  • Definately a head turner ... just not too sure why !! Well Done though.

  • So fucking what if he took the porsche engine and binned it.. His car, his choice. Dare to be different... Whats cool about a stock car??? 10000 people got the exact same car... The CSB is a good choice i think... A friend of mine took a BMW 5-series and put a Toyota 1JC engine in it.. Nice car thats become even better... So to all you pessimists out there... take your honda civic's elsewhere....

  • WOW! What a great job with the car! I currently own a 928, and have restored many musclecars. I think it's great what you did with the car...Man, I love it!

I really have to laugh at all these nasty comments. It's like what I deal with when I meet an owner of a 911...They won't even say look at you... Oh well....

Keep up the great work! My hat's off to you!!

  • MEANT TO SAY "look at you"... :)

  • Thanks for the comments. It's amazing how much I hear how 911 owners think that they have the only true Porsche...

  • hehe....Ah, you're welcome. Beautiful work...I liked the interior as well.

    Take care!

  • this is a BADASS car!!!! Keep up the good work!!!

  • Hey guys, it's his car and he can do what he wants with it. It doesn't make him an idiot. I don't care for the setup but it's not mine. My preference is for turbos and if you think a 928 engine can't make big power, think again. I dyno over 550 RWHP on a 175,000 mile 928S4 engine with twin turbo setup.

  • disgusting... You've gutted the heart of an excellent car and stuck in an engine not worthy of the frame... If you can't afford to maintain a Porsche don't buy one you moron. If cost is a deciding factor purchase a simple Vette.

And to the idiot who says the porsche engine is overly complicated; perhaps you don't realize its a German Exotic. Its supposed to be more complicated than a few simple pushrods and a carb. Its designed with performance (NOT EASE OF MANUFACTURING AND COST) in mind!

  • What a baseless opinion of my financial situation. It's nice that pompous people like you assume that because the motor is different, I must not be able to afford upkeep. What you don't know is that I also have a 2007 Aston Martin Vanatge as just my weekend cars. And that did this to have something different and piss pompus people like you off.

But, you probably know better than I do. And, by the way, you are the idiot that thinks just becuase its an exotic means it needs to be complicated.

  • doesn't the SBC weigh less and have higher output than a 928 engine :D ?

  • no no no he didnt gut the heart of an excellent car because the heart of this beauty lies in its frame and steering. he simply made a wonderful car even better. especially with a blower, that thing is just badass

  • This car rocks. He gutted the limp heart out of a faulty design and perfected it with a better motor. If you can't afford a brain, don't write, idiot. You are the most pompous fag I've ever read. I bet you wear little round glasses.

  • I run a 32V twin turbo 928 engine which makes the same, if not more HP than this car. So, your statement about the design being limp and faulty is baseless. Granted this was on older 928, but there is nothing limp or faulty about the engine or chassis design.

  • To each his own, I don't like it at all. The 928 looks terrible with the blower sticing out the hood. The accelleration when it's lined up with the other 928 from a roll doesn't look to be very impressive, not 600 Hp worth.

Yes Chevys are cheaper to work on. No problem with putting the engine in there, the blower just looks awful. Now, on an old 60's or 70's american muscle car, sure!

  • I appreciate your comments, its amazing how plenty of people are on different ends of the spectrum when it comes to this car. As far as the acceleration goes, for safety reasons I don;t race on highways, that was no where near afull acceleration.

  • I am a 944 owner currently beginning my ls1 build. I plan to have a 911 and 928 with V8's the high horsepower and low repair costs just make more sense. I am not a big fan of the blower sticking out of the hood, but I am a fan of that power it ROCKS!! You have got to give a little to get a little. The porsche purist cant argue whats happening in GT racing. Corvette is killing them. It might be time to rethink engine design for the 911.

  • If you want to see a wild end of the spectrum check out the 3 axle porsche thats being shown on here... its the ultimate porsche camino and the video is getting some of the same bad reviews...However the guy deserves a pat on the back Porsche even stepped in to verify his inspection and passed it...^5 bud...

  • Opinions are like assholes...everyone's got one...but most of them stink (don't listen to their durogatory comments.

P.S There are too many f**king assholes out there...to each his own.

  • why wouldanyone put a chevy engine in a porsche its like wearing a fur coat and wearing clothes from goodwill

  • I'm sorry, but that has to be the worst analogy I have ever heard regarding anything.

  • lmfao. I agree. Oh and BTW The Chevy part of the car is the fur coat.

  • Damm if you had any idea of the German ingenuity and quality control standards. that fur coat you refer to would be made from rat...

  • how many hrs do you have in building that thing

  • nice engine and power but the scoop mhhh no sure about it

  • 928's are great but their engines are overly complex and expensive to repair. A 2002 Chevy motor produces more power and more torque and costs peanuts compared to a 928 motor. Imagine the repair bill when that 7 foot long cam belt breaks and punches a dozen valve holes in your pistons. Of course a 6 year old chevy engine is going to beat a 25 year old Porsche engine. I've had a few Porsches and my next 928 will have an LS1 from the get go

  • I like it!! I have an 85 928. How do you find the conversion kit? $1,300 for a Porsche belt tensioner is a little steep for me! I could build a STOUT 350 Chevy for the price of a damn tensioner...

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,

    Chad..

  • When does someone it the other way ?

A Chevy Corvette or Camaro with a Porsche engine , a Porsche gearbox and so on ?

I´m a German who prefers German technics but who prefers the American Car Design.

A Corvette looks much better than a Porsche, but in my opinion a Porsche motor has a cooler sound, especially the flat-six-cylinders of the 911. Would like to know if this could be possible: a flat-six-porsche-motor for a corvette of the 1960´s or 1970´s.....

  • hayastan,

I am sure with enough money, anything is possible...

I'd love to see a Cayenne turbo motor in a vette or something.

  • Are you fucking retarded. Why the fuck would a person want to stick a shitty engine like a chevy in any car. Fuck that shit. American Engineering sucks ass!!!!

  • Nice to see how eloquent some people are. Your response betrays your ignorance and intelligence.

  • You don't know much about cars do you?

  • Why not just design Porsches in the same style as 1960's or 70's American cars...

I'm only 14 but when I grow up I whant to be a Porsche designer...mabey you'll see something you like in a couple years time !!!

  • If you do become a Porsche designer, PLEASE don't look to old american cars for inspiration! I like muscle cars too, but I wouldn't bring up that idea at the Porsche studio. American Porsches wouldn't sell very well, even to americans.

  • ive owned several camaros and used to love american cars til i got my first AMG benz, now i have a 1986 944 and a 7 series and wat a difference compared to american cars. germans just make them so much better

  • look nice...should have kept porsche engine and supercharged it instead of american shit

  • when I purchased
