I first heard his voice in Sonic Generations. I heard he was in Sonic Free Riders first, but I haven't played that game.

So when I played Sonic Generations and heard his voice for the first time, I said, "Sonic has a new voice actor? That's awesome! He sounds like the best one yet!"

Don't know about you, but I couldn't stand Ryan Drummond and Jason Griffith.

He also voices Sonic in Sonic Colors, too.

I personally like all of Sonic's voice actors (except for the guy who voices Sonic in the OVA movie), but Roger Craig Smith is now my new favorite. He sounds like a good mix of Ryan Drummond and Jaleel White.

@sonicfan1984 I didn't recognize it in Sonic Colors. Sonic Generations is when it became more noticable to me.

Drummond sounded like a younger Sonic

Smith sounded like an older, more mature Sonic.

This sort of shows that Sonic is aging as his games go on, and it also sort of shows that his games follow each other in a specific progression. I think that's neat and creative, even if it's unintentional.

Well Roger did say that Sega wanted Sonic to sound a bit older so that's why it Sonic sounds like an older teen. It's way more noticable in Colors then Generations.

@sonicfan1984 But Generations is when it really started to grow on me, and it got me hooked on that voice. It also sounds like a Sonic that I can relate to a lot more.

Yeah, his voice in Generations sounds more 'Sonic like' but I like his voice work in both. :) They both sounds great.

Yeah, Sonic 4 Episode 2 and there's rumors for a Sonic Sega All Stars Racing sequel. Other then that, no other Sonic announcements yet.

I thought he already sound natural. His tone sounds a little older in Colors but he gotten better in Generations and made his voice sound higher

I love Roger Craig Smith. It's funny how he loves some the lines in Sonic Colors. It's awesome how he plays the classic Sonic games as well. Good thing that he knows who Sonic was.
