In really not sure why the commentators are so amazed at these shots, with the speed of the cloth on those tables its really not that hard to do. Higgins and white were doing the same on the thicker cloth back in the 80's, then it was a bit harder to do.

Good effort, he missed by literally a millimetre or two, I would say his biggest mistake was going for the banana shot instead of those two open reds on the right... but fuck it, he got a wicked long pot in to make up for it anyway.

I believe nothing special with this, as he just put a lot of back spin and with a good angle there to provide it happened. However, in that suituation, he should have to think to key those red balls, rather than to spin the cue ball around without intention. I think he just got a bad angle there, that's why even he put a lot of back spin, the cue ball still can not key in those red and enable so-called banana shot. Indeed, nothing to appreciate in it.

The cue ball was bound for the the baulk cushion, not the yellow pocket. There was not enough screw left in it to foul the cue ball into the pocket. Worst case: it would have kissed the far jaw and snuck the cue ball behind the baulk colours.

firstly, the banana shot is extremely easy - all that is required is enough cue power

secondly, he missed that by a long shot. even if he had made contact, the white would have glanced off a red and into baulk leaving him with not much of a chance. therefore, you would have to assume he was trying to make 3/4 or full ball contact and he missed by a long way.

thirdly, he is a mediocre break builder. period.
