  • yeowooo....shake that thing...great post thank you. DEnnis

  • i named my boat tomahawk kid after these guys played tomorrow belongs to me at my wedding

  • I remember a school skiing trip to Austria in the early 70s. There were a couple of English language 45's on the Jukebox. One was Alex Harvey, with the B side "Giddy up a ding dong". Does anybody have a copy they can post?

  • @andyhfromleeds1 That's funny... I went to Italy on holiday in 1975, a couple of months after 'discovering' SAHB via the Delilah performance on Top Of The Pops and found an Alex Harvey single which featured 'Giddy Up...' at a hotel where I was staying. I got the 'Live' album as a Xmas pressie that year and bought all the LP's in London the following summer to complete my collection. I was a big fan by that stage even though I was just fourteen!!

  • @lioii The 70s - Happy days!

Giddy up... Maybe it was only released in Europe? That used to happen back then.

I remember Delilah being on TOTP and Old Grey whistle. The funny dance was a laugh!

  • there was only one Alex !!!!!!!

  • A really great band

  • "There's no such thing as a dirty book; it's just the way you read it"! The world's a far poorer place without the Sensational Alex. Oh, and this song can also be found on the "Tomorrow Belongs To Me" album. Nick P

  • did they ever make a bad sound

  • @dimlylit289 no

  • sure alex would have enjoyed that.

  • I have all the vinyl including "Live" Picture disc .... VAMBO ROOLS ... forever !

  • Had this single. Wonder if I've still got it? Will have to dig around.

  • 'There's no such thing as a dirty book it's just the way you read it' class!!!

Not heard this song for years! RIP Alex

  • goin to the boston tea partay :P

  • i was lucky enough to see alex and the boys several times both in glasgow and in london at the live recording. alex and the boys are pure and utter complete class just being in the same room listening to their rampant rock is enough for anybody

  • cant think of a more fitting tribute...the parkhead gig was brill ..the memories keep me going..

  • closer to women ? men ? life ? the machine ? if your like me, we got more further from everything than anyones ever been : )

  • simple masturbation

  • Thanx for this post. I forgot what a great song this is. I was a huge fan of his in the 70s and now I remember why. Thanks Alex where ever you are

  • Alex was awesome..... and what a band.

How's the guitar layers in this song!

Zal is a wonderful player....master of tone.

  • if anybody objects ??? tell them to fuck off

  • @steve6919 Ha ha, excellent, my sentiments exactly!

  • Zal tears it up on the outro solo ... killer stuff !!!

  • Saw them in europe early 70's. Kids today have no clue what they missed. Best damn show I ever saw.

  • @Halfdead59 - Sadly its the "best damn show" I never saw. Thank God for youtube, these songs are so refreshing in 2009! Saw SAHB (without Alex) in 70s. Brilliant musicians and great album, Fourplay. Anyone know if the remnants of SAHB still perform? Hamm Apollo would be ideal!

  • their still together ma man i herd em practicin in the studios i go to a while bak here in glasgow

  • What a great song and band & what a waste of life when Alex died..

    Fantastic Music, no less..

  • this should have been the \\A side.

  • Ja, dass sehe ich auch so.

love that song from the grandmaster AH.

  • Amen. The world lost a legend. RIP Alex
