The subsonic ammunition commonly used in conjunction with a suppressor does have a lower velocity than standard ammo, which means that bullets passing through a person will cause less damage than regular ammunition, this much is true. However, the suppressor itself doesn't do shit to the amount of power behind the bullet. It would be, and is idiotic to think that.

Exit wounds are all about velocity. If it has enough velocity it'll punch through. So at that range, even the P226 is a 9mm it'd probably punch through.
