  • i love how the second closest guy checks around to see if everyone else ducked down and was the last one standing haha

  • are those training grenades or real?

  • @poleeed training ones

  • Aww not the blue ones with the hole in the bottom lol..

  • why are there so many smiling faces? twenty years ago, a drill sergeant would kick your ass for even a smirk

  • @Sigmafy

theyre smiling cause they have miniaturized murder in the palm of there hands

  • "Use your non-throwing side" Um, What if you use both hands to throw? (Like me?)

  • @DarkSoulGunner666 Do you mean you're ambidextrous and can use either hand to throw?

Or you throw with both hands for more force or distance, because that actually is more likely to severly DEcrease the amount of distance and force it would fly.

  • @Roxas2D hell yeAH!

  • how come sometimes you see grenades that have been duct taped whats it for?

  • @5hiThAppEnS2 keep it from going off accidentally going off

  • @Roxas2D No, but I think you can buy one somewhere.

  • @Roxas2D Uhh it's kinda hard to describe. There's like 5 different patterns (woodland, etc)

GO to Google Images and look up: Type 07 Camoflague

  • @Roxas2D In terms of look, I like the new Chinese camo and multicam.. :D

    Oh boy oh boy

  • I like these old helmets better than the new ones they use today.

  • They're using fake grenades now days? I miss the sound of the real deal.

  • some jackass had his grenade on his belt and reached for it and pulled the fucking pin on me.That lucky bastard is still here cos it was a dud.Irish army didnt seem to care but in the us i'm sure he would've been chewed out.

  • at 0:20 guy in middle nerd

  • They have changed this alot since the early 90s. I screwed up the first time then did well the second.

  • U.S. MILITARY: "GRENADES"

  • O_O sgt. foley?

  • Id rather have army training and marine discipline !

  • Man I dont live to far from Columbus GA.

  • When I did basic we threw live grenades, and ducked without second thought.

  • They're tossing dummy grenades. The fusing mechanism is live, but the shell is drilled out at the bottom and the Comp B explosive is removed. Still though, you wouldn't want your hand over that hole when the fuse goes "bang".

  • i like the way the person in the middle looks around them to see what everyone else is doing befor the duck for cover lol

  • i thought HOOAH was a marine term

  • @TheMrplayitsafe naw hooah is an army thing.

  • Its good to see such a high emphasize on safety in this clip. Very smartly done.

  • @FredDude27 i think these are fake grenades though. would be too dangerous otherwise. grenades can kill someone further away than those soldiers are throwing them.

  • @TheMrplayitsafe there test grenades...they contain detenatiors but no explosives

  • they were waaaay stricter on us at the range

even if it was just the practice dummies haha

    brings back memories tho XD

  • tienen que poner la posturita de bailarines de norma duval antes de lanzarla????XD

  • This is the advanced course. The previous one was about throwing stones. The half of the army did not pass the course.

  • Esto es de risa. y que se gasten tantos millones en esto.

  • When the video first starts right after they throw the grenade look at the dude in the second throwing section......he looks to his left and right and realizes hes supposed to duck....he gets down quick hahahahahaha

  • is the sound really bad for everyone else?

  • Wow...when I went to basic we did training and live grenades. We also all had our own body armor.

  • I knew a guy that when to Iraq. Got his legs blown off by a grenade.

  • no u did not

  • Actually, yeah. It may have been and IED but I think it was a grenade.

  • wow, too many instructions too fast. No way i could pay attention to all that, i'd be fucked if i had to go through basic.

  • that's how all instructions are given. You get used to it after a few weeks.

  • those are training grenades.....we throw live grenades in basic as well or at least i did

  • thosre are not grenades, those are firecrackers..

  • well if you went through basic youd know that on THIS day..they spend less time yelling and more time teaching because they"re giving you live grenades and they dont want you TO DIE.

  • I went though basic training. This shit is scary.

I remember having having a safety instructor standing next tous when throwing our grenade.

  • What's scary is that it looks like basic is co-ed now.

    Tell me it ain't so.

  • it is now just males and females are seperated at sleeping quarters but the rest of the time they are together

  • if your a pouge yeah...not for the infantry

  • POG not pouge. And these are not real grenades

  • im smarter then they army, i dont use acrynoms...there gay its person other then grunt, but id rather spell it out

  • First of all, you can't be smarter than an organization. I am a Marine. Second of all... "I'M smarter THAN THE ARMY, I DON'T use ACRONYMS... THEY'RE gay IT'S PERSONNEL other THAN grunt, but I'd rather spell it out.

  • This brings back memories. Its really something when you throw your first real grenade. When they first put it in your hand everything seems to fade away. Then you think its cool then a second later your like I want this shit as far away from me as possible.

  • @vicekitty ಥ_ಥ, That story...so beautiful.Cool..story bro /cry

  • ah m69 practice grenades pretty cool 67's are better

  • lol i love the

"are you paying attention to me or the camera?"

    "...the camera"

  • Man, This brings back freaking memories. I went through Basic in '99.

    Quickly Quickly Quickly!!!

  • They could have at least shown a real one going off.

  • wooow lol

  • wrong arm for that

  • hahaha, thats hilarious

  • no offense, but it looks like theres a lot of little 17/18 year olds...good job guys...

  • I remember the White Tape on guys that couldnt hack, we had a couple boneheads

that didnt drop after throughing live grenades

and the DS had to slam them to the ground.

I went thorough basic in Nov 88.

    SGT USARMY disabled/retired

  • It was like that in 07 when I went to basic. The DS wrote a giant L on their helmets because they were "lookers".

  • yea man same for me. that range cadre was mean as fuck too. Ah good Sand Hill. I was at that same range a couple months ago.

  • man the drill sergants were mean as fuck when i was there and those grenades were louder then i thought

  • we threw live grenades when i was in, or is this just the practice for the real ones?

  • i went through benning bct july-aug '08

we threw those practice grenades a few times. those privates who had trouble getting the grenade far enough were flagged w/ white tape and the rest moved on to throw the real m67 grenade. shockwave was fuckin sick. i am happy as hell to be off of sand (ant) hill though.

  • Somehow stupid...

Field Manual of Land Forces of Soviet Army supports using the defensive grenades against the enemy at ~30 meters...

  • Well, the drill sargents seem a lot less like assholes than in movies like Full Metal Jacket, but they're still dead serious.

  • this is army FMJ is Marines.

  • Ah. Well maybe that explains it. :)

  • The reason they aren't assholes is because they are range cadre not drill sergeants. Notice the pin on the sergeants uniform at 0:36. The range cadre do more instructing than discipling.

  • Is this the sort of basic training course that everyone in the army needs to go through, even if they just plan to go into artilery, tank, logistics, etc?

  • alot of range cadre were assholes though too. especially on saturdays

  • C33 BCT FLW '87

Practice grenades have a little det cord in them(little bang)& that whistling sound is b/c they have a hole in the bottom of them and are hollow. Real grenades do not. A real grenade is nothing like the movies. They will wake your ass up!

The grenade course was the drill sergeant's revenge as they got to knock you down immediately after you threw the grenade. I suppose they dont do that now. In my time we threw 2 real grenades in BCT.

  • Preparing my grenade, throwing my grenade, grenade!

  • Proper grip, thumb the clip, twist pull pin, throw! Yeah, we still do two live grenades.

  • Yep, they are practice. We didn't get to throw real ones until Infantry AIT and that was in a pit with a D.I. standing over our shoulder.

  • Why can't you throw them like a baseball? I imagine you can't throw as far like that.

  • grenades are solid metal with explosives inside. they're way too heavy to throw overhand like a baseball, and you want to arc it up to make the timing correct. you'd rather throw too far away than too close.... a baseball won't blow up and kill you if you toss too short.

  • Hate to tell you civilians this, but those are practice grenades those privates are throwing... The only thing exploding is the primer charge.

  • Ya but I seen people manage to injure them selfs with them alone, how is beyond me but they do!

  • Never underestimate a private... LoL!

  • Specially not with anything that goes pop in any way shape or form.

  • lol he said the V.a. wont give you no money if you fukk this up

  • "are you paying attention to me or the camera man" lol XD

  • damn those frag grenade looks very dangerous!!!!

    lol

  • Really? Lets ignore the fact they are engineered to kill. No shit they're dangerous!

  • hello im a joke, and some ppl dont get me

  • I was there Feb of '98.

  • lol! Frag out... I remember that. Thanks for sharing this vid.

  • They look sloppy, i didn't know the army let them be this way. In the CG it was different. We had to be perfect and never just be standing around chillin like these. I admire the cg now just watching this. Anyone dont believe me? Join yourself, then come and post.

  • Well it is in 1997.

  • its kidna like americas army training. its cool

  • YOU ARE ALL A BUNCH OF DUMBASSES those arent real grenades they are training grenades. they make a pop but no explosion or shrapnel. this is called the scenario pit were they teach you what will happen on the real greanade throwing range. they had fucking plywood as there bunker did you honestly think it was a real grenade? jesus fucking christ you guys are fucking dumb. and Pitastesgood your a fuck up as well thats like asking if and atomic bomb will blow up a city.u hav shit 4 brains.

  • I saw a vid where when the spoon poped off there was a pop, then an explosion. How hard does the spoon push out while you hold it? Also, can a nade really take out a truck?

  • Ah grenade training......this brings back some memories ^_^

  • do you get to keep your ACU's after basic training?

  • heh heh.....I was not in the US Army....I was in the Australian Army. Our grenade training was somewhat similar though.

  • 5:02 Hitler Saulute, jk Lol

  • Not to dis the Army, but did anyone else notice that the drill sergeant didn't even have a comical tone when he said "If you don't know your right from left...opposite the hand I have the grenade in"?

  • Not to dis your or anything but the drill instructor is supposed to be vary calm because what happens if he starts yelling a cadet messes up and drops a nade by accident. Opps right?!?! This is basic training they will learn to cope with the yelling latter with explosives. Besides after your first few weeks of drilling everything calms down. But dont get me wrong you never want to mess up.

  • Not that, he was instructing them in the sand as a group and he said if you don't know left from right, etc, it just makes sense for him to have a little more tone, unless that's my civi side talking.

  • HAHA yeah messing up with a genade could be the last fuck up you ever accomplish!

  • my father, Christopher Bourn still holds the record for the farthest thrown grenade at Fort Benning, GA. I believe it was in the early 1980's he retired a long time ago though. BUT CANT WAIT TILL 2011 US MARINES BABY!!

  • shut the fuck up you rascist pig

  • PREACH!!

  • ahh brings back good memories of fort benning charlie 3/47 192nd infantry brigade.. sand hill (ant hill) post of fort benning

  • LOL imagine if you did just have to pull the pin out. Nades would be killing more goodies then badies

  • you can pull the pin out and hold it for an infinate amount of time, only when you let the lever go (by ungripping the nade) does it start... not when you pull the pin!!!!! dur!

  • yhea, i discovered this recently, it is called a "safety pin" for a reason

  • lol youtube notifies that someone replys to a post... lol

  • No mate, grenades have a saftey handle which provides an infinate amount of time until you throw it and the handle is released.

  • its called a spoon, and the safety pin is clipped onto it.

  • where im from, its always been a safety handle, and yes I know its connected to the safety pin. Hehe, I had enough experience!

  • lol in the first few seconds the guy in the middle looks around like "now what the fuck do i do" haha

  • lol i see what you mean

  • Dco 2/19 May-Aug 2006

  • Whats with the flak vest? If it was so dangerous, how come everyone else doesn't have theirs too and eye protection since you always get something in your eye first. When was the last time anyone used real explosives in the military and had lookey lou's watching like its a baseball game? The explosion becomes classified and they kick you out to where you can't even see it from a mile away.

  • Well lets take a second to think why they would have flak jackets on... Ok when you are in battle and you throw a real grenade what are you going to wearing? A flak vest. So why wear a flak vest even if they are throwing dummies? BECAUSE THEY ARE TRAINING FOR COMBAT NOT FOR LEASURE. It's not about danger it is about training.

  • I see. so its all about conditioning their thinking.

  • Exactly. Well that and just throwing an object with a flak vest on is harder than without... remember those things are alot hevier than they look.

  • Yes, I had to wear one with xl plates. Keeps you nice and warm in the winter though.

  • from what i heard they changed the whole army bootcamp... its no longer screaming and pushups, they call it combat coaching i believe and more class room work

  • yeah mee too, i heard about it but i think its bulcrap, u still get screamed at

  • how heavy are grenades? (standard or most common)

  • What, no live grenades??? I had to throw two back in the day. That was a trip, a little baseball sized grenade with that much explosive force

  • I just Graduated in 06. We threw two live grenades.

  • I graduated in 2006. We threw two live grenades.

  • Of course they still yse hand thrown grenades. Grenade launchers have been in use for decades... shit everyone had them in WW2. Dont talk shit if u dont know what u are talking about.

  • haha thanks. someone with common sence

  • KungFuWarrior21 you dumbass you have no idea what you're on about... Everyone still use hand grenades, they're for close range, unlike the launchers idiot.

  • yeah shadowmanners is correct, they still throw them. you just play to many video games kungfuwarrior...

  • yep.. ya ain't exactly gonna use a rocket launcher to 10m ahead...

  • LMAO, The US army uses all kinds of M series grenades. Now as in launchers, they have the M79, M203 for the M-16, and the SMAW. Get your shit straight

  • kungfu is just some little kid that plays quake 3 lol. of COURSE hand grenades still exist you dumb ass little teenager

  • BAHAHAHA ur a fkn dumbass i bet ur some lil 13 y.o. f@g kid - stop playing doom

  • stfu idiot they never stopped using grenades when they do forced enties they cant whip out a grenade launcher tofrag the rook they throw one stick to halo noob

  • LOL HE SO DUMB dude if ur into those video games so much play americas army and you will see hand thrown nades are still in use....ur so dumb. stop playing quake. i bet u think we use plasma rifles in iraq.

  • You are an idiot.Learn your facts before you spew BS. They in fact do still use hand thrown nades.Dumb ass!

  • I quit the army in '88 and told my CO to fuck it....i was heading back to Vancouver to make money rather than play

tin soldier....I now drive a hummer - with a Bose sound system and spinners.

  • yeah, but you dont protect your country. and thats why you suck

  • Yeah, but I have just as much respect for the army dudes as I have for the security guard that protects my building and office. You have my gratitude. Thanks, eh.

  • are the fake nades? cuz i dont see them kaboom WERES THE EARTH SHADARING KABOOM

  • uhm they are training grenades. And, they are privates you only get to throw a real grenade ONCE and this is not the range for that this is a training range.

  • I said Hooah! in 2001 when I was at Ft. Benning 2-58!

  • dang 2-58!

     was there in 2002..

    i said hooah..

  • ECO 2002 2/58 !!!

  • you cant say hooah in training....maybe that was different in 2005 when i went through.

  • humm we were hooahin left and righ in boot in '01

  • you know, if we were just able to work things out without fighting, we wouldn't be needing to know how to throw a grenade.

  • yeah that has worked alot in history, shut up. everyone should go through boot camp, basic survival training and respect.

  • Yeah this part was pretty boring, but qualified after. VERY FUN

  • The grenade day was my favorite day in my entire stay at Benning. Except for graduation that is....

  • der practise grenades dey only emit sound der harmless

  • Practice grenades can cause injury. A prictice grenade (at least in the case of the M67, I'm not sure about any others) has just had a small slice taken from the bottom, and the Composition B explosive removed. The blasting cap is still in place. If you cover the hole with your hand, the blasting cap will hurt you.

  • why dont they donate those grenades to hungry children in africa?

  • First of all, you do not throw a grenade like a baseball. Doing so will pull your shoulder out of the socket. Also, live M67s are thrown during BCT. But, that being said, you spend most of the day practicing various throwing techniques (ie mg pits, infantry behind defilade and infantry in a realtivly open area) before your allowed near the range for live fire. You have to qualify on the practice course before your allowed to go to the live fire course.

  • maybe this clip didn't show it, but in actual traing we DO use real one. in fake one, everybody kind count till 3~5 second after pin off,,but for real one...hahah everybody throw out as soon as pin off

  • that looks like fun i hope i get to do that in navy boot camp. : )))

  • the explosion isnt what kills you, thats why its called a FRAG grenade, it shoots out a shitload of little peices of medal out

  • that's why they scare me

  • yoyo the reason they dont use real grenades is because they would probley use it to kill someone they dint like, HAHHAHAHA.

  • Seems like a complete waste of time, who cant throw soemthing? Didnt these girls play baseball?

  • you would be surprised

  • so if let you throw grenate without familiarization,,you can throw real well?

well got mention you this ,,you can throw about 9~15meter(i think it's about average),,and kill zone is 5 meter.

  • huh? you didnt make to much sense. But i can throw much further than 15 meters.

  • That's in normal situation. add a big bag on your back, bullet proof vest, an M16 slung round your shoulder and a few hours running around and you'll see that a 15 meter throw isn't so easy.

  • Nah, its still pretty easy. If its tough for someone, maybe they dont belong in the military because things get much tougher than that.

  • They wear armor right now. They always wear armor when they train with explosives or weapons as a group.

  • HAHAHA I remember getting dropped doing this... Private how many damn times do I have to tell you not to hit the ground? That's okay private I'll fix this... I'll fix this

  • how long does it take for the grenade to go off
