yes. the wire will instantly melt if connected wrong or/ touched a ground. ive had it happen a few times. the worst thing ive ever done was short out a radio. no fires. nothing radical. just small sparks...

sure, a short circuit will fry ANYTHING in the fastest time possible.

if you're wired properly though, the amount of power this system is drawing shouldn't be a problem. if you try pushing a 12" sub with a couple hundred watts continuous, then crap will get hot & fry.

an amplifier can only pass as much energy as it's designed to. if an amplifier is rated at 50wpc, then it can load the power wires no more than 100w peak. you can't fry wires with small amps, just big power hungry ones that can pass the current

thats a load of shit, you could not shake a bike apart with a stereo if you actually tighten the nuts on it..... and secondly you would never have enough continuous power coming from a single battery to actually cause flames even if you put the positive directly onto the negative, it would just discharge the battery.

if you attach a end of a wire from the positive of the battery to the negative the wire will heat up and melt the metal only catching flame to the plastic sheathing. if you take a metal rod and touch it to both the positive and negative of the battery you will get a spark and the battery will be discharged. Ive done it with car batteries, 100V capacitors(for machinery not car audio), tons of different cells.

i had a shitty car battery and just a cd player, 2 6x9s and 1 neon will last for about 10 -15 hours of use. (depends on how loud and how high the bass settings are) with a decent battery, a cd player , 2 6x9s, 1 neon, a 300 watt amp, and a 400 watt 12" sub will last like 2 hours. again, depends on how loud you keep it. if you have any questions about makeing one or any car audio help, just let me know. comment me or aim: gmchris87
