PS. I have an '89 with Fuchs - I love my look. BUT, I love these BBS rims on the SC. Two different generations, two different looks - both great in my humble opinion.
to the idiots saying the wheels are all wrong ... these were an OEM option when this car was new! They were considered an upgrade for the SC models (never offered with the Carrera.
Like them or not - that's one thing. But you can't say they make the car is 'less original' with them.
Beautiful car man. Let people hate all they want, if you enjoy the car and how it looks, that is all that matters. If people care about how it looks, they can go buy their own 911 and choose their own wheels :P
@koihoshi I agree. Don't you just hate it when people give their opinion on what wheels you should have on your car? Fuck them. You are the only person that matters. If you love your car, it doesn't matter what anyone else says.
Get rid of those rims . They make the car look cheap. Get a new set of Fuchs wheels with the painted centre crests. They will make your car beautiful and make it look like a real Porsche. There's nothnin like OEM. I'm currently looking for a 1978-83 sc. I'm in New york City. Anyone have one to sell in black or red, a Targa, please drop me a letter.

Didn't mean to click on the terrible wheels. I like the wheels. I had a red 1979 SC. I got married in 99 and sold it. Only had 60,000 miles on it. Just getting broke in. Great driving little car. Should have kept the Porsche. It had the turbo body flared fenders. I had 6” tires on the front & 10” on the rear. Man you could go back in the country on those roads and have some fun. I've had friend get behind me and they could hang with me.
Great looking SC. I would say put the Fuchs on, it will make the car look more like the timeless classic that the 911 is. by the way, i liked the video, specially with the shot of the car coming from behind thru the mirror.
I live in Southern California, Porsche spare parts paradize. Check your area first before you buy it and find a good Porsche mechanic first to get pre purchase inspection. These SC's have a few inherent flaws that need correction, with the chain tensioner upgrade being one of the biggies. It would be best to have an experienced mechanic to perform the upgrade for you, unless your very mechanically inclined. I just bought mine and I LOVE IT. 1980SC in Petro Blue.
Are parts for a 911 SC hard to come by in Australia? I hear the older the car, the rarer the parts. But that shouldn't affect 911s right? There's so many air-cooled ones, and there's so many tuners that specialize in Porsches..............still the majority of the time I'd like to avoid them, dodgy lot.
Sorry guys I'm asking because I do have the money to buy and insure a 911 SC, but I'm worried about maintenance, also I hear it's better to import them because RHD ones are worse, any opinions?
Please explain what you mean, and are the right hand drive machines really that inferior? I know BMW screws the Americans, but don't know about Porsche in AUS.
Refinish your fuchs or get the BBS as a second set. Don´t let the car loose its originality. The 80´s came with fuchs as standard. Sell them and your car loses value

What kind of car was this filmed from? On the video it sounds like someone shaking up a metal bucket full of nuts and bolts.
