  • Would this amp do good for Metallica, Avenged Sevenfold, Trivium etc or would I need a pedal

  • so this amp can be used for hard rock and or metal, can it cut through a drummer?

  • How does this amp handle the less scooped mids, sort of shoegaze/open chord metal tones?

  • @masterlowsferatu Haven't really tried it TBO. Tend to use my Toneport for that stuff.

  • does it have that really great reverb like the old ones had & without any hum??

  • @AwWDesignZ Reverb is average IMO. Get a dedicated pedal. You'll need a noise gate too.

  • What type of reverb that amp have? spring accutronics or something else?

  • Hey mate what song are you playing at 1:52?

  • @phobiaspasm Made it up, but reminds me a bit of Dokken.

  • @gsogoz Cheers brew!

  • Do you know how to set it up so it doesn't give out feedback when setting it loud and distorted? I study music at college and they got the peavey amps and I can never set it up properly without them giving a lot of feedback which makes me look like a complete retard and people going "ARRRRRGHHHHH!!!!!!" LOL

  • @xxguitargirl94xx A good noise gate will help. The ISP Decimator is really good I've heard. EQ can help too.

  • distortion sounds a bit noisy, but it might be your pickups I'm not sure :)

but that tone is awesome, this video convinced me to get one!

...will get one next payday :D

  • i wonder if these are still made in the states my old 70s tube peavey is that thing is mean

  • Did you tested 90' series (not red line) with the scorpion? Because im not sure to buy a new one or an old one with the scorpion...

  • whats the song u played at 3:20 to 3:40?

  • i like how you do a thorough review , not one of those panzy arse 30 second things , we actually get a decent listen ;)

  • BUY A NOISEGATE!!!!!!!! NOW!!!!!!

  • @TheBenlag Donate me the $ for an ISP Decimator. I asked Santa for one, but he didn't come through (bastard!)

  • buy a damn gate

  • is what you told"rhythm pick-up" is the "neck pick-up"?

  • @mortblack11 Yes

  • I don't play this style, but love your demo. I have the older red-stripe version, and am considering getting one of these newer models. Sounds great!

  • Have you tried running it through an external cab?

  • @TurdF3rgu50n No. Would sound wicked though, I reckon.

  • Any thing running through the loop? Sounds WAY to good to be stock. AWESOME SOUND!

  • @swcoburn Dry as a nun's..... no fx.

  • I am SOOO GOING TO PURCHASE THIS BABY

  • is the amp to loud for bedrooms?

  • @philipsanglof you can let the amp with 25% of all potence and sounds very good, i have one and i let my in my bedroom

  • what is your post gain set to? thanks.

  • @htjones93 About 2.

  • Hi, nice demo. How do you think this amp preform live? Have you used it for gigs?

    Thanks

  • @swedo88 It is certainly loud enough to handle the job. I have not used it live.

  • @swedo88 Thanks. Well might not be a good investment for live preformances then.

  • @swedo88 Yes I have, Im in a band named Those 1 Kids, and I played for a block party, and it is in fact loud enough to get the job done. You just gotta have the right sound. ;)

  • @debbo51 I'm probably selling my peavey bandit for around 157 USD. I think it 's worth more cuz it really sounds awsome. Got a Bughera XL for live prformances:)

  • the speaker out is great, get another one, put it at another corner for sweet spot stereo projection

  • @zzzxtreme dude, you can NEVER but watts into watts. the speaker out is for a cab.

  • well can someone explain me the percent switch in the back ,what happen if i want to play it in small room and i have it in 100%???and if i have it on a big place at 25%??

  • @gsogoz Quick question, what are your tips on recording this amp? Do you use a microphone or send it to a preamp?

  • @Ted443 This video was recorded using only the camcorder's condenser microphone. These days, I use a Zoom H2 microphone, which does a great job of recording amplifiers and room situations. I just posted a link to one of my other videos, using the Zoom H2. Cheers.

  • way better than digital modelling amps

  • This Peavey or a Line 6 spider 75 watts?

  • from wat i hear it will do well on death metal but would you recomend it for death metal?

  • hey is this better than the spider IV or the mustang III?

  • @ctmspartyfan1997

Use your ears and decide for yourself.

  • i've got the same and it's awesome! my friend's got mustang III and i think that bandit is much better.

  • @ctmspartyfan1997 For metal- yes, but for rock i think, it's too heavy sound

  • @wdowa94 i have a red strip and if you drop the gain down to like 3 or 4 and chuck some more mids you can gt a nice rock tone......otherwise it has a rock sound on the toggle switch which is alot acdc rock sounding not heavy rock

  • one more question: what setting do you have one the damping (Loose, medium, tight)?

  • @iGuessiLikeIt Loose

  • do you use this amp in all of your vids??

  • @iGuessiLikeIt No. I use my Line 6 Tone Port for the majority of them.

  • hey man nice vid... i´ve been thinking on buying a bandit... do u think is better then a fender frontman? take care

  • @bigfproblem A lot better.

  • @bigfproblem way better, I was in the same spot you're on, Peavey all the way.. IMO (=

  • @bigfproblem i would buy a peavy vypyr

  • Harmonics sounds little different on this amp.

  • Thiz ampl sound great

  • Is it any good for Ozzy era Black Sabbath sounds? And how does it handle Fuzz pedals and Treble Boosters? It does do Priest nicely.

Anyhow, nice video. As far as I can hear, this is good value for money.

  • Is this 80W ?

  • @stefangnr1 yes

  • wow, nice fat crunchy sounds! Good vid :)

Does the back have 25/50/100 % volume switch, and line outs?

  • @johnzantey 1 line out I think. 25/50/100 yes. Mine's on 25 on the video.

  • @gsogoz wow that was quick!!! Cheers mate... I think i shall be walking into my local muso store any time soon to gimme self one :) Thanx

  • I suppose that your cam couldnt handle the bass frequencies so it compressed them right?

  • @Zordid0 Probably. I was using my old Panasonic camcorder for this one. These days I use the Zoom H2 if I'm recording my Bandit. You can hear that on one of my tutorials - Warm-Up Riff in the Style of Megadeth.

  • @gsogoz awesome, will check them out, im looking forward to buy this amp by tomorrow, I wanted to know how it sounds like with some metall riffs, etc, since I play metal........ well sort of xD. Thank u.

  • I also own a Vox Valvetronix AD50VT-XL 2x12. I would say they are a very good amplifier for indie and blues. The one issue is that the stock speakers lack bottom end, but other than that, it's cool.

  • This or vox valvetronix?

  • @519Awesomeness vox valvetornix ;)

  • @519Awesomeness THIS!!!!

  • great distortion !!! :)

  • Harmonic sounds on Peavey Bandit little diffrent, isn't it ?

  • which amp is better: this one or peavey vypr?

  • what settings on the back of them amp do you use?

  • far out!!!!!!!!

  • is this good for a guns n roses type slashy sound?? also acdc

  • can u use this monster for bedroom practice and still get a good sound without anyone callin the police ?

  • I'm reaaally considering this amp, what do you think? this or a Fender frontman 212...

I dunno wich way to go, I'm feeling the Bandit more, but I want opinions, honest ones haha

  • @tigreslokos Bandit

  • @zykophonyguitar for sure?

  • @tigreslokos Yes. You'll get more variation in tones plus the bandit features more low-end to my ears. Most of my students prefer the Bandit over the Frontman.

  • @zykophonyguitar ooh man you're right, I just got home from my local music store, tried them both side by side, and the Peavey is superior by much.. yea, I got a much wider variety of tones, just thinking about the 3 options each channel offers, this amp gives more than the Fender, definitely going for the Peavey.. the fender is just, too plain, i dont know, Peavey wins! (= thanks broo, keep rocking!

  • @tigreslokos I was in the same position as you about a year ago. I've LOVED, I mean LOVED my Peavey since day 1 and haven't looked back. I've played so many gigs with it, and have got asked by people what magic box I was pumping my guitar through to get my tones... this thing is WAY under-rated for the price.

  • @NEWCtheSHOW haha its amazing how different they sound, I still don't own the Peavey, but probably will when I get the money.. I hear it's really reliable as well!

  • @tigreslokos I've had the bandit for 6 years- BEST AMP EVER!

Very versatile, can play anything from johnny cash to cannibal corpse.

It can hold up in gigs too, really loud amp.

  • @ShredWithEd niicee!! I'm really gratefull for all this feedback, I guess Peavey users are friendly lol.. thanks bro, I'm almost sure this is next on my buy list haha

  • Lead EQ ?

  • I'm surprised you got your low at 10, this amp can gets really bassy at 10

  • is the amp 1x12?

  • @StratBanez101 Yes.

  • Did u use any more effects? Disortion pedal, pocket pod, u name it? Cause i DO NOT get this sound on my 112 bandit, with a fender strat

  • @klasse2bub I'm using an SG, which has 2 humbucking pickups. Your Strat has 3 single coils I presume? That's probably part of the reason, since single coil pickups do not generate as much gain. I'm not using any pedals or effects in this video.

  • is that amp good for metallica ane megadeth?

  • @polishskaterdude32 Did you listen to the riffs dude, LOL.

  • @gsogoz i think this amp is better for native african bongo drumming like we all heared in this video xD

  • @Heineken1712 Heared? Get your grammar right dude :D

  • Are you using any pedals?

  • @PeanutButterGtr No - that would defeat the purpose, lol.

  • @gsogoz Aw man. I tried matching your settings EXACTLY!!! And I'm using the same model guitar as you. My amp still sounds really boomy and boxy. It's just all wrong. What are your settings for the confusing stuff on the back? Please help...

  • @PeanutButterGtr It could be the tight / loose switch. I'm on 'loose'. % Power mode = 25

  • @gsogoz Right. Kay then. Is your amp relatively loud in the room you're in, or is it moderate? And What are your Reverb and Boost settings?

  • @PeanutButterGtr Boost is simply a volume boost, so doesn't colour the tone. Mine's on 2. I don't use reverb on the amp. The drier, the better.

  • I tried replicating your rock settings to a T. It didn't work. My amp is either obnoxiously loud, or there's no distortion at all. How did you get the awesome tone without it being so loud? What are the EXACT settings on the amp, even the confusing knobs and switches on the back?

  • is this amp from the 80's originally?

  • Peavey makes the best amps. Even the starter amps sound good.

  • Comment removed

  • very good demo! this amp is great you can get averdrive on this thing with the clean channel if u crank it and have the correct EQ settings, and then boost it with a OD pedal if u want, sounds oawesome!

  • you did a great job with this vid. Most times you dont know what this amp will sound like because the kid playing thru it has all nobs cranked and it sounds ridiculous. You have done an excellent job showing real tones-because of this I will be getting this amp. Thank you sir.

  • @scorpguitar79 Glad you enjoyed it thanks.

  • vErY nIcE aMp ... ROCK ON!!!

  • OHH MAN! im gettin this... it will make my strat sound so fat and brutal :P

  • i hav bought one of these amps and i cant switch between distortions without foot pedal and i hav boss distortion pedal and ive tried boss metalzone on it and it still has bad quality sound and i hav a mtm2 signature ibanez which i bought for 1 gran and sounds great so i dont know wats up

  • im friggen gettin one now...... i tried one at the shop with a mexican std strat and it killed.... and it was S/S/S too :P

  • Imagine throwing a boss metal zone or a hardwire sc2 in front... LTFO...lol.. I want to demo one of these.. Nobody around me has one. Just want a good/solid SS 1x12 amp to jam with... Had a valveking 112.. Very blahhh amp.. This amp sounds very good.. especially with the rock/metal tones it pumps out. I can make my litte Fender 25R shred with a metal zone.. Im liking this amp.. great demo!

  • EMG 81, modern, high all the way up, mid 4, low 8, reverb 0

    METAL

  • One other question.. how is the reverb? spring like?

  • @wedge070 It's OK, but I ended up getting a dedicated pedal, a Digitech Hardwire Reverb, which is great.

  • How loud did you have it in this video?

Is it usable in the house without disturbing the neighbours too much? :S

  • @illeagle7 Volume (Post-Gain) was around 1, a little before. The is a loud MOFO :D

  • @gsogoz

What number would you say would be acceptable around the house? :D

  • @illeagle7 probably 2 or 3 lol

  • @gsogoz thats loud though

  • Best Sounds Are At (In My Opinion) 4:25 almost has like a fender hot rod sound or like a marshall haze,i also like the sound from 7:01 nice sounds the peavey bandit produces and i favor amps like marshall, crate, fender.

  • i guess it must be my guitar .. sounds amazing on this review but with my shcecter demon it sounds shit and dead.. =(

  • definitely best part starts 7:00, love such a riffs

  • Is this the new one that has a few changes? How much did you paid for it? If this is the old version, anybody knows how to new one cost?

    Thank you very much!

  • Is the stock speaker any good? That is where most amp companies will go cheap... the speakers always seem to be thin.

  • @wedge070 The stock speaker is quite good, it seems to break up at high volumes. I swaped mine out for a EV force 12 and now it sounds incredible. It keeps up with a drummer and bass player. It really is a great amp for the money,

  • can you tell me your settings pleaseee. i got this amp today, and it`s fucking loud. please i beg you to tell me your setting please :( and of course your post gain. thanks <3

  • Modern bass-9 mid - 4/3 high-all the way up reverb-3

    METAL

  • heres a setting plug the guitar into high gain.. put it on lead.. 10 on pre gain 10 low, mid, and high, and about 1 and a half on post gain max reverb and and max boost... gives heaps of distortian :)

  • 5:44 - reminds me on Death (Chuck's sound)

  • @GigoTheDoctor Nice one! I love Death :D

  • it has a lot of noise, i'm going to buy one of these, and i'm going to buy a noise gate pedal or a delay and chorus

  • Great, I have the same and it's awesome an very cheap, velry low noise and big sustain, but the best is the boost, I made my own footswitch including a doble looper connected to the Loop section. Greetings

  • i have that amp and it is 80watt, and when you plug in a external speaker cab it is 100watt. all you have to do is read the bloody manual and check at the back of the amp

  • hey. if you know, does this amp sound good with pedals sent throught it?

  • @Noroxs91

    Wonderful...clean is better than lead!

  • Are there any differences between the Lead and Rhythm channels? Or are they just useful for switching between two pre-prepared setups?

  • @MoonKnight14 probably, but you might need a tube screamer for an extra kick

  • sounds way better that the stupid line 6 i tried out

  • is it a 80 wtts mplifier?

  • @Joker5844 Noo it's 112w :)

  • @AJloeshx Actually, it's 100. The 112 stands for 1X12, as in the speaker. :D

  • @NEWCtheSHOW Ohhhh okay thanks :)

  • @AJloeshx No problem. :P

  • @AJloeshx i don´t think so man, 112 amp means: 1 horn for 12 inches but the question would be what´s the power of that horn?? i hink it is a 100wtt amp

  • @AJloeshx 112 stands for 1 x 12 Inch speaker

  • Comment removed

  • I just got this amp and its fine and all but could any of you recommend a distortion pedal that would go well with this amp??? Im not in great favor of the distortion.

  • Epic playing man I got this amp today and it stomps my 100W Marshall Valvestate!

Any chance you have a tab or can direct me towards a tab for what you play at 2:17?

    cheers

  • can u use it with reverb

  • @MoonKnight14 You will get such an improvement over your Spider from this amp. Go for it, at 300 dollars this amp can hardly be beat (except by used amps, even then still a pretty good competitor)

  • what year amp is this please ?

  • How is this amp for playing at home?Sometimes I play with some friends also. I believe that is it too loud, but when I was looking at it on the store I found 100,50 and 25 % on the back. If you put it at 25% will it be less loud then?

  • @Moongrock Yeah I'd bet it's an attenuator. If it is, then it will make it a lot quieter therefore making a distorted sound a lot better and easier at lower volumes. The higher wattage is for louder cleans. Rock on!

  • i dont like this amp im really disappointed with it... distortion sounds kind of.. hollow if that makes any sense.. idk maybe its just not what im used to

  • @darkaurora11 Maybe it's your pickups. This amp is pretty solid.

  • @FeralArtist im running with duncan designed on a schecter demon 6 at the moment, ive hooked the bandit up with an mt-2 pedal now and almost never use the actual amp distortion anymore, yeah maybe its the pickups i dont think it would make a dramatic difference though

  • @darkaurora11 Yeah it's really about what you're happy with. When you're happy with your tone you will play a lot better.

  • "korean jsut get a peavey bandit 112 ±D

    its perfect

u can only rock with such a great amp ±D

  • Great demo and playing ! I just bought one last week and it's awesome !

I never knew that Peavey solid state amps had such a punch to them.

This amp sounds like a stack on certain settings.

I was upset that Peavey is too cheap to include the footswitch, though.

I had to order that seperately from an online store.

  • @guitar62751 Agreed. It's also a bit on the expensive side, at least the one I got at the shop.

  • I've got an Envoy 110, which appears to be the lower end of this. I was wondering what the technical differences are? So far, I've only found that the wattage and slight layout differences.

  • i played on a slightly older version none the less the amp is killer im putting one on layaway next check i found it used for only 149

  • please respond uuum does it have good distortion by itself? how many watts and do you think it would sound good with a distortion pedal like a boss mt 2 metalzone please tell me and would it be good for small gigs thank you

  • 3:20 is the exact same sound as on kill em all.

  • @zaktan415 yep, a very "Marshall feeling" tone at that point!
