AlZayani is a typical well connected Gulf arab man who is playing ostrich - ie hiding his head in the arabian sand and not facing the truth that he does not live in a very nice country. Ricken Patel, Damon Hill at least have a conscience! How can an event like F1 help to give human rights to ordinary Bahrainis - it only helps business interests make lots of dosh!
Pfft, the only people looking forward to this race are the Government because they are making money. Racing Is an incredible sport.. It's too bad so much politics are involved In this race. Typical.
@PoLaRIV too bad so much politics are involved?!? for whom? the government who stands to lose money? the audiences who stand to lose entertainment? how about the bahraini people? clearly, they stand to lose the most if the status quo (including proceeding with this planned sporting event) continues. avaaz is *helping* make this political in order to draw attention to their plight. the response has not been typical; it has been atypical in that hundreds of thousands of people have petitioned.
@thephdj Actually you're right.. the first line In my previous comment totally didn't come out the way I meant It to. But all In all, I wouldn't support such a government. You have to look at the big picture where anti-government protesters are being killed. That's just insanity. As for Avaaz, their intentions tend to be pure. It's no wonder why so many people contribute to their petitions.
Thank you AVAAZ... The people of Bahrain will always remember you.
You stood up, when the world was trying to block images and videos coming out of Bahrain... videos of police forces firing at peaceful protesters..
i am so grateful to you AVAAZ
