no doubt daniel was better! daniel's just generally a better singer than lewis, though i think lewis has improved a lot. i've seen lewis in wicked (as fiyero) several times and although i still think he needs to work on his singing, i really enjoy him in the role of fiyero and actually prefer him to lee! daniel's done great too :) with avenue q and everything. wish them both the best!

How did Lewis beat Daniel?! Daniel sounded so much more emotional and into the song. I feel like Danile understood what he was singing about. Lewis had too young of a voice and Daniel was much more mature. Daniel should have made it farther than he did.

i saw Lewis when he understudied for Lee in Joseph, he was amazing! Like a lot of people I didnt understand why Lloyd Webber kept him in especially compared to Daniel, but seeing him play Joseph I was blown away

Daniel has an amazing voice. Did Lewis make the final 3?? If so, how?? There were people in that show with much better voices and Daniel is one of the and he just puts so much emotion into every performance.

While not as strong as Daniel, he's also younger and better for the role in question in Andrew's eyes. Also, you have to remember this was based off the previous performance and the viewer vote. Daniel wasn't giving Andrew what he wanted in his performance, so he got the boot. He's mad talented, don't get me wrong, but wrong for Joseph.

Lewis was a pretty face but Daniel had the superior voice. This is such a hard song because your constantly going from falsetto to chest. Very few men can sing it properly and I think Daniel did better by far.

Lewis only "won" because he was a "struggling underdog" that brought in viewers from the uncultured and ignorant masses that knew nothing of what musical theatre talent truly is. His technique was absent. YOU DO NOT SING THIS SONG IN YOUR FACE. But Mr. Webber knew what he was doing... He knew that while Dan was immensely talented, he wasn't going to win in the end. So, he cut him loose and kept the little d-bag that brought in viewers. But Dan showed those who knew the truth how wrong that was.

Daniel more polished and professional though not a Joseph. Though maybe a Phantom? Lewis, as has been said, had the look.

But more importantly Daniel hashed the lyrics at the end of the song. Lewis didn't. At the very end after it's "If I die, let me die! Let him live, bring him home" Which Lewis nailed, but Daniel didn't. He sang "If I die, let me die! bring him home, bring him home" So he had to repeat it, and it stood out a country mile!

And for a sing off, that's suicide I'm afraid.

Lewis is absolutely amazing. I've seen him in Joseph and he was totally brilliant! He's also a very lovely lad. I've met him twice. :)

Well, I'm going to be the first to say...I think that Lewis was the best in this performance. I find his voice purer and makes me melt. His overall appearance is more suited for Joseph but Daniel was my second favorite Joseph and I was very upset when he went out, at the same time being glad that Lewis stayed in!

His crscendos made my hairs stand on end, and my lip quiver.. he same a very safe tone in his voice like Zoe said, and it does sound boring with the cheesy songs, but in this he shows what he can really do. I agree that Daniel is a far better singer (his voice is in a different league to Lewis) and he performs with far more ease (plus I have to mention that he is very sexy) but he's not right for the part of Joseph. Jeseph is young and simply a bragging boy at the beginning of the musical. I just cannot see Daniel in that role. I think that the main reason Andrew keeps going for the younger boys in the sing offs. Personally I think Ben would be best, although he's not my favourite.

Beautiful song, beautifully sung and performed by Daniel, and completely ridiculed by Lewis. Daniel's standard is so far ahead of the others that it isn't surprising that the voting public got complacent but for Andrew Lloyd Webber to choose the one not just devoid of a spectacular voice or any sort of acting talent but also of any sort of particular appeal of any sort, belies his years in the industry.

Having said that, Daniel is far too good for a lightweight musical like 'Joseph'.

Now my opinion keeps changing on this but I think ALW knew what he was doing. Half of me believes this was a tactical decision to eliminate Lee's biggest threat, however I do think that as good as Daniel is, he would not be a Joseph. In something else I'm sure he will amaze, but somehow... not Joseph. I also don't think Daniel is necessarily better, I think they both sang very well, they just have strongly contrasting voices.
