You filmed this, you can see the second woman (Sam Mayfield) physically interferring, pulling on her assistant. 0:18

That is interferring with an officer in the performance of their duties, it is sufficient cause to arrest her.

And then she tries to take the camera away from her assitant at 1:33 that is further cause to arrest her.

Ms. Mayfield was 100% in the wrong from start to finish.

The 1st ammendment protects NONE of those actions.

I watched the part when he had to go after the 2nd person 10 times with 3 other people who had no idea what it was about (eliminate bias). She was not thrown to the ground. He was trying to apprehend the 2nd person while not letting the 1st one run (which the other ladies were trying to get her to do I might add.) You need to separate the politics from what happened.

I think everyone needs to take in account what happened BEFORE video was shooting. There was quite a bit of obstruction going on in the video. I didn't vote for Walker, but I know what sensationalism looks like. Watch the video closely, the officer did not throw her to the ground. He was trying to apprehend a 2nd person while he had the first person by himself. Watch his body and the hand that was on the cuffs of the person he already had in custody.

@itaytay77 From what I was told by a guy that was standing right there when she was first taken into custody he asked what she was being arrested for and the officer said because she was running away from him but that didn't happen. I also heard that she got a citation for around $200. Is it the first woman that's name is Alex. The second woman's name is Sam.

@BadgerGurl88 Thanks. The name of the first woman that got arrested is Alex, and she's a reporter from Vermont. The second woman is Sam and she's also from Vermont. Alex came in February when the protest started. She was supposed to stay in Madison only for a few days, but decided to stand with us and report about the protest during the whole occupation of the Capitol. I can't believe she got arrested.

The State Police just made themselves and WI look pretty stupid. There was no danger with the girl with the camera so why did he fell the need to go after her like he did knocking all those other people around. There is plenty of police there. He could have called for help if it was that important. If I would have gotten knocked over I would be pissed. It would be like getting hit in your car by a cop chasing a speeder.
