Paul was taken back by the boos from the crowd that started after the piano intro. The crowd could not hear him and they were booing the sound system, not him. But as you see he's thrown by it in the first part. In THIS video they mixed in cheers where the boos happen toward the beginning but they were there. The huge cheering half way thru is when the crowd could finally hear him.
sorry if this has already been said, but in the 1985 Live Aid this song was famous as someone accidently knocked Pauls microphone out and for the first 2 mins the audience did not hear him sing, they thought it was part of the act. How did this video get the singing.... it should only be heard at 2mins 15m secs?
@AJGURUCrimpMaster@loveforyt Re: McCartney singing Let It Be at the Live Aid concert on July 13, 1985 -- the TV audience couldn't hear the first part of the song either as there was a problem with the sound system. I was recording the concert on tape at the time and Dick Clark was emceeing. He remarked that it was only the TV audience who couldn't hear McCartney but he was obviously unaware that it was likely only some of the people near the front of the stage who could hear anything at all.
@Paul8820 Don't be ignorant. This concert was as well as Live 8 was, a concert for charity, not for the sole purpose of satisfying the crowd. If there will be a Live ? in another 14 years then so be it, and I hope the most popular singers on earth are there, because even if you hate them, there is people who haven't heard of them who need their help.
@Paul8820 if you want to listen to a good new band who play proper rock n roll listen to Tommy and The Guns on facebook :) so much better than all the rubbish out today xx

They better not do a Live aid 25. Live 8 was the 20th anniversary concert. The resason why I say no is because of the lack of quality of artists.
Black Eye Peas, Lady Ga Ga, Miley Cyrus, That is not who I want to watch.
