  • cfl light bulbs

  • lol SEIKOPYSCHO... ur a funny guy. Why would u make that comment about ur house look like "a souped up hispanics car" ?? That clearly shows that youtube should be moron free which would ban U from logging on... lol..... anyway, LEDs are OK but the quality of light is not that good. Its like having spot lights in ur house. Very unpleasent. CFLs are just shit bulbs. All this talk about changing to CFLs to go green is a big joke. I'm stocking up on a life time supply of edison bulbs.

  • The have improved over the last 5 years as far as flashlights. The first one I ever purchased was poor at best not very bright (4 leds) and had no distance. The next I got was better (1) but not great. Now I have seen ones that are brighter than my regular light and it's brightest one I have found.

As far as household ones is there any problem with them dimming over time? I purchased a set of white LED Xmas lights that I hung in my kitchen and they are half as bright now.

  • Man, I LOVE YOU, you don't know how much... LED prices are dramatically reduced since you filmed this... There's a Restaurant in Norwalk, CT called the Pirate... looking into switching over to LEDs... already selling organic booze and wine... Drinks on the house for the Green Pirate!

  • :) Thank you.

  • I agree with you. LED is the best!!! Regular bulb are bad! CFL is hell! Avoid buying a CFL!

  • plants hate CFLs? no way... my marijuana plants loved my CFLs more than incandescents, although it didn't give me much yield... maybe I should switch to HID/HPS.

sorry about the mutiple comments I cam commenting as I watch your awesome video!

  • If you broke the CFL and spilled the mercury into a plant's soil it would probably die. I wouldn't try it though, mercury is dangerous.

  • ew all those "white" LEDs always emit a light with an ugly blueish hue to them. That's why I stay away from them... i don't want my house to look like a souped up hispanic's car.

I'm gonna stay away until they develop a full spectrum LED, if that's even possible XD.

  • Technically the white LEDs are made with red, green, and blue. Playing with the color combination can change the temperature. My visions so bad I can't really see the difference though.

  • solid state hard drives are better

  • I wish they could make solid state drives in the gigabyte - terabyte range.

  • Hard disks are better and last londer, practicly forever if not abused.

  • That hasn't always been true. I've been lucky and only lost one HDD out of about 15. But I remember when must HDDs weren't expected to last longer than two years.

  • solid state hard drives are no better than a memory card. The 330,000 write cycle limit will only last a year when windows uses the swap file (virtual memory) and then you gotta waste tons of money replacing the drive. Those drives use "sector leveling", which will kill the ENTIRE disk, not just the sectors being used, not all of them, wasting the disk.

Hard drives are better and will last many years of not subjected to shock, moisture or ESD.

  • They are working on improving SSD write cycles

  • Tks fellow pirate for your green ideas!

  • Your welcome. I like your FF video.

  • Hey Forest - Where did you get your led lights?

  • CCrane, ThinkGeek, CyberGuys, and Amazon.

  • Very well explained, now i am goanna have to go and get a LED light.
