Ragnaros was the most exciting Final boss kill in WoW... ever... I really miss the first 2 years of the game, they were the best time I've ever had playing a video game.
I started WoW about a year after launch, and the NA videos are what originally inspired me to dedicate myself to raiding. Sadly I feel in more recent iterations of WoW the boss encounters don't have the same gravity that vanilla WoW did.

Frostnova rank 1 costs about 20 mana back then, it was not like now when the mana is nearly the same for the lower ranks spells. But i think you must be a very good player if you waitet for the half raid to die and THEN use your CDs.. good methods haha :D
I dont disrespect this guild or the mage, its just funny to see how most of the ppl sucked back then, and couldnt play right. But this was normal and it raised the difficulty.

As for raiding... The luxuries the developers have given you as this game has progressed as ridiculous. Raiding as Horde in Vanilla was extremely difficult as we had no threat reduction whereas alliance had Blessing of Salvation. We couldn't even give Windfury to our melee on practically every boss due to fear of pulling aggro.
@wuffiee And no... you could not do MC in the rags for gear the game provided you with prior to instance raiding with 30 people. Get your facts straight before you attempt to bash a legacy.

To say these people aren't skilled is ridiculous, they probably played together 5+ hours a day for months. The game was much harder in those days... minimal +damage gear existed, mana was much harder to conserve. Look how rag is just randomly pwning people towards the end! These dudes accomplished an awesome feat, mad respect (music choices aside lol)
@wuffiee You're spot on. Fura was a horrible player, but a good leader. In his defense, he was raiding at about 3am-8am local time, and there would be occasions we had to call him to wake him up. Doing it in 60 greens and blues back then was still something to brag about though at the time.

The raids and content in general is designed FAR BETTER than it was in Vanilla, but the whole "every tier must be accessible to all people at all times" thing is really dumb
Great memories, we used to bust our asses off every night trying to take down new bosses, new WoW players will never understand how much more difficult the game used to be. I haven't played in years and don't plan to, the new WoW blows compared to MC/BWL raiding days..
The best thing about NA back in the day was that we seriously raided like it was our job, but still joked around and had a fuck of load of fun doing it. I've played competitvely in shooters and RTS, but this kill was an adrenaline rush above all else. Thanks to AirForceElite for dedicating himself to the legacy that is original Nightmares Asylum.
Was always funny how we would start to wipe cause we would joke around so much and then get serious with like 15 people up and pull it off haha. No other guild could compare to the shit show NA was and somehow we still managed to get it done.

@ozfiz77 The president of Blizzard wants to make as much money possible and so he tailors the game to the larger fan base for their enjoyment. In turn, this ruins the real authenticity and thrill that the game could provide for hardcore gamers. It's a shame.
You know, I tried Wow, but I just didn't get into it because it took too much time. Fights like this one are pretty cool, but the only problem I have with that is that it DOES require dozens of people to bring down the big baddies like this one, and in a video game I like the feeling of being the one to personally say to the games toughest guy, "Yeah, I just kicked ur @ss, solo!" That's just my personal preference though. Still cool vid though.
My buddy was actually in this guild. I was back in college when they were doing this. The guy was obsessed with the game though. I still play it casually here and there but it's definitely a shadow of its former self. Makes me sad that its all changed. Most of these players are gone now.

Thank God it changed, such slow reaction times, not using fire ward, that kind of raiding performance wouldn't get you through BC or more difficult WLK raids. This is a nice movie and really nice progress for it's time, but being sad that things have changed to eliminate such performance is just silly.

Was always funny how we would start to wipe cause we would joke around so much and then get serious with like 15 people up and pull it off haha. No other guild could compare to the shit show NA was and somehow we still managed to get it done.

damn I miss these days. I still play and love the game as much then, but it's just not the same. They should at least do 1 or 2 hardcore raids an expansion. Just for us who still care.

@ozfiz77 like a good ol' naxx 40 :D if they made a "new ulduar" with old god "backups" so you could go in there 40 man and kill all those old gods :) and then for fun a ragnaros in there too :D

@ozfiz77 The president of Blizzard wants to make as much money possible and so he tailors the game to the larger fan base for their enjoyment. In turn, this ruins the real authenticity and thrill that the game could provide for hardcore gamers. It's a shame.

You know, I tried Wow, but I just didn't get into it because it took too much time. Fights like this one are pretty cool, but the only problem I have with that is that it DOES require dozens of people to bring down the big baddies like this one, and in a video game I like the feeling of being the one to personally say to the games toughest guy, "Yeah, I just kicked ur @ss, solo!" That's just my personal preference though. Still cool vid though.

My buddy was actually in this guild. I was back in college when they were doing this. The guy was obsessed with the game though. I still play it casually here and there but it's definitely a shadow of its former self. Makes me sad that its all changed. Most of these players are gone now.

Thank God it changed, such slow reaction times, not using fire ward, that kind of raiding performance wouldn't get you through BC or more difficult WLK raids. This is a nice movie and really nice progress for it's time, but being sad that things have changed to eliminate such performance is just silly.
