  • you can see Admiral Ackbar working when you enter the building

  • Yes it was the one at Disneyland, Anaheim, CA. However, both the Disneyland and the WDW versions are closed for a complete makeover. When they reopen in May 2011 the ride will be called Star Tours The Adventures Continue, and will travel to many different destinations, and won't be the same ride twice. C3PO will be the new captain. As for any remnants of the original ride, props or costumes from the movies remains to be seen. But you can be sure they will put some type of tribute there.

  • @gransgir88 i'm sure you've been on the new Star Tours, but actually, there aren't that many new places to go to. there are 2 different intros, 3 first planets, 3 transmissions, and 3 secondary planets, making a combo of 54 different things to see. i've seen them all already, so i hope they make tons more in the future!

also, it's worth noting that the Mighty Microscope from Adventure Thru Inner Space (there before Tours) made a cameo both in the original star tours and the new star tours

  • And this is Disneyland, Right?

  • When you say, for example, the C-3PO animatronic was the orginal costume, you mean that the costume was donated for use as the animatronic body?

  • Yes, the ride was created by George Lucas, ILM and Disney Imagineers. George Lucas and ILM at the time thought they were done with the costumes, so both Anthony Daniels full costume and the legs to R2D2 worn by Kenny Baker in the original Trilogy were donated for the queue of the ride. Once completed, and before it was open to the public, Anthony Daniels, and other cast and crew rode the ride, and Anthony Daniels remarked how strange it was to see his costume moving when he wasn't in it.

  • @DoomTay id like to know this too

  • @DoomTay yes the costume was donated, or re-used, as it was a planned piece of the ride queue. It was C3PO's and R2D2's costumes from the first movie, and being as it was also created by the same people as the movies they really wanted to add stuff from the movies to the queue, and why not, I'm sure it was just taking up room in a warehouse somewhere. I'm no expert on the WDW version, they may well have had some pretty terrific stuff there too, but I don't know what.
