I lived in Dallas as a kid when this show was on in the early 80's. It was so awesome. I too remember watching with my mother. One of the few good memories of my childhood at that time. @msmithstud I remember when I was in 1st and 2nd grade I looked forward to Friday nights more than when I was a teenager when the Incredible Hulk and the Dukes of Hazzard were on back to back. I hated when I saw this opening because my parents would make me go to bed!

Hey, what season was it that JR Bobby and Jock went hunting in the woods and were taken hostage at gunpoint by the husband of the woman JR was having an afair with?
It Was Season 3 When Jr And Bobby And Ray Went hunting in the woods and jr and jock get shot by the sons of some guy jock did wrong in has past, but the other one you thinking of is the first season where the woman are taking hostage at gunpoint by some guys cause jr and ray slept with there woman
@Wellch haaaa, they r actually gonna start very soon in alaska i believe just wait within the next twelve months or so as soon as they can get oil up to $200 - $300 region. anyone reading this who doubts it please write this down and keep your eyes peeled!!
I never watched the show cause I was so young but I remember the theme! Lol-I remember hearing it through the screen door while I was outside on my Cabbage Patch Kids bike when I was 6.
If you love Dallas then you'll love my tribute to the show. Check out "Dallas theme done Windsor style" on youtube. You too can make your version of Dallas.
loved it then, love it now. I love a good introduction to a TV show. A theme like this is something one remembers. I used to exercise to it! Carol, Old hippie chick in Toronto,Canada.
You're right. This opening is actually from Season 2 (or the second full season). Sometimes, people may refer to Season 2 as the "third season" since Dallas had started out as a mini-series.
WB started that crazy numbering when they released the dvds...this season will always be S2 to me.
It was the first season I was 'allowed to WATCH' as a child...the first year I couldn't watch...but I always listened anyways while I "pretended" to be asleep...when Mom saw that I still knew the plot she gave up and let me watch...I started watching around the time JR found out John Ross was his child and I've been addicted ever since.
dallas was good the first few years, but it was not the same after the silly dream season and bringing bobby back. plus evil, nasty sneaky carter mckay was played by the goofy cop ed in the naked guns series.
I've been watching the re-runs of the series here in the UK. First time I've seen the early years in full and what a show. It just doesn't age. Sure the fashions have changed but the stpries feel as exciting now as they must have back in the 80s.

I never watched the show cause I was so young but I remember the theme! Lol-I remember hearing it through the screen door while I was outside on my Cabbage Patch Kids bike when I was 6.

I'm 32 and been a DALLAS fan since I was a little girl. My mom, grandma, and I use to watch it in the 1980's when I was growing up.
I'm collecting the seasons on dvd and got my husband hooked on it. Bobby was my favorite character. I like Patrick Duffy. What a hunk!!

Yeah! My mama watched 'Dallas' too! My mother was so much of a fan, my brothers and I re-enacted the 'Who shot J. R. episode with my cousin.

It wasn't the same anymore after Gene Hackman left the show.

I think the decision to list the stars in alphabetical order is wrong here. Hagman should defintely been given star billing.

I've been watching the re-runs of the series here in the UK. First time I've seen the early years in full and what a show. It just doesn't age. Sure the fashions have changed but the stpries feel as exciting now as they must have back in the 80s.
