  • A lot of people dont realise Cockatiels are very social birds and can easily learn whistles and words. Approaching even a wild cockatiel over a period of time and talking to it sooner or later it will start comming to you or going closer to you at the least. Try it within weeks youll make a friend or two

  • please show more of the wild cockatiels and budgies..

  • Where was the first part shot at? It looks like it's somewhere in Australia. nice video btw

  • What a wonderful vid...thank you for sharing :)

  • i love tiels! and they are so beautiful in the wild!

  • To Tevian 3: Chances are if you bought a Cockatiel,it did NOT come from the wild.Austrailla has banned the capture and importation of wild Budgies and Cockatiels and such for years. It was more than likley hatched and reared wherever you live in the world

  • Awww they r so cute thnx 4 lovely video

  • do u have footage of grass parrots/red rumped parrots?

  • @Rock1nPsycho yes i do Rock....but not on you tube

  • great video, birds are astonishing, simply amazing

  • i would catch them!!!!

  • This video makes me want to cry. I feel very guilty about having cockatiels. It's one reason I try so hard to do everything for them. They have a massive aviary they fly in, endless toys, and I spend hours with them, yet I still feel guilty. They won't ever raise chicks or fly in the sky. I will always feel bad in some way. But if they are at least happy in my house, I feel I'm doing something right. All I can do is my best for them. They were born in captivity.

  • @tevian3 If a cockatiel was born in an aviary they would feel more comfortable there than out flying in an unknown world... i know what you mean i also do my best. If they can flap their wings , fly , and eat natural grass seeds you collect from around the environment which is what all my 25 birds do ...they are very happy. Good on you

  • @tevian3 you can let them fly outside if you train them well enough :)

  • @tevian3 It's nice that you feel that way, but a bird born into captivity should stay in captivity. And who's to say you can't let them raise chicks or fly in the sky? The problem with each is that in the former case, you have to provide the right environment for breeding, and for flying, you need to train them so that they will automatically return to you after flying around. A bird born and raised in captivity, when treated right, will live much longer than its wild counterparts.

  • @Candythehedgehog2 Glad you have one ...they are great mates!

  • What an awesome vid of all those beautiful birds!! I LUV birds

  • Nice footage!

  • what version of great southern land is this

  • @TheBjmax33 Iva Davies performed his song here with the final four choirs in the Battle of the Bands show in australia where he was one of the judges. It was a feature act during the final show.

  • they should be iin the wild like this and i hve one cockatiel its singing rite now lol.... this makes me feel bad and sad tht im keepin my bird captive in the house i do let him out dnt get me wrong but stilll

  • @beywarfare95 Hi mate , i saw that you were a young fella and i think that to have your view being young shows you have a lot of heart. I commend you are like all kids should be. Cockatiels will be your life mate forever if you let them and glad you have one. WELL DONE. Mine are sunny arnie and poppy, a cinnamon , silver and grey like yours. Greys, "normals" are the smart ones and strong ones as they are naturally occurring.

  • @blast4music I have one too, his name is alphie! His hatch day is august 8th 2010 and my b-day is august 18th 2000 :)

  • Take me over there you.... amazing... lets get another cockatiel:)

  • Breathtaking! However, it made me cry.. this is how they should live! I say this having 4 Cockatiels and a Quaker.

  • @Ravenerie Thats fine , the fact you care is what counts. im sure you do your best for your birds. Seen Quakers their great . Thing is these wild cockatiels are so far in the outback and in big numbers that they will survive for a long time yet. They are one of the quickest flyers of all bird species. There are many parrots in our world and they are wonderful creatures. Glad you have experienced their brightness in life ...cheers

  • wow this is an amazing video im watching it with my cockatiel on my shoulder

  • what song?

  • @bobyho this is Iva Davies performing his bands hit song with a choir . He was lead singer and songwriter for Icehouse or The Flowers as they were once known. The song is obviously called Great Southern Land.

  • This is great. The video, the music... Everything! It almost made me cry... :) I have 3 cockatiels and 18 budgies, I once had zebra finches too. It's my dream to fly to Australia and see them in the wild. Sorry for my bad English (I'm from Poland) :)

  • @LolkieForever Your english was perfect. Very cold in Poland ive heard. You have many birdys ,they keep you busy too, i also have 3 tiels and 4 zebras. the zebras fly around with long bits of grass always adding to thier nests.. very funny. good to hear from you up there and would love a video of your birds one day, :) Big Thanks and good luck with dreams

  • lovely 2 see tiels in the wild

  • Thanks heaps for posting this as a video response to my Molly the cockatiel video. Even though I am in Australia I have never seen them in the wild as I'm in an urban area. This video made my day.

  • Great video. Great camera work. I love to see 'tiels flying free. Unfortunately in the States, we only have them captive, so we make up for their freedom with as much love as possible. We did have a rogue budgie come to our feeder for 3 seasons, and then it was Last Post, I guess.

  • great to see them in their natural enviroment, thanks!

  • geez i love ya video... !

    oh thanks man.
