I was not impressed, the animation was good. but the over all story was less then plearusable to watch. the tree was my biggest issue. From 3:01 to 4:30 It had rather unwanted looks.
everytime i watch one of your new videos i ask myself why you're not amazingly well known on youtube. you really do deserve to have a greater audience because your videos are really pure genius.
Your work is always a treat to watch! I started watching your stuff about the time you graduated from animation / art school. I just wonder about your opinion of schools that teach animation, the more you could tell me, the better.
This was in every way inspired by Ren and Stimpy, which of course were inspired by Bob Clampett and other earlier animators, but definitely borrowed heavily from R&S animation style. The dopey charachters, pulling the suitcase and hat out of thin air the car from nowhere, the endless kitchen looping background and the violence (though with fruit guts). Definitely funny.
I was so impressed with that! the quality of animation was exceptional! If you don't mind my asking what tools did you use? After effects etc? and were the characters 3d models?
Hey, thanks! The characters were actually fully rigged in Maya, and were animated in a 2D graphic way. Some environments were painted, some were fully 3D, and the whole film was heavily treated in After Effects, and that includes a lot of the shading. A lot of the characters' body parts were rendered separately out of Maya (even though they were all animated as one) so they could have individual filters put on them in After Effects to direct mood and lighting.
