Actually, when you're against these large tanks, you can stand somewhere you won't get hit by them.
Stand right in front of them and move a little bit to the side, and if it works, then the tank's turret will shoot right in front if it and won't kill you.
It's useful as when other shots appear, you can move upwards or downwards (ie "back" or "forward" your ship), and can dodge pretty much everything in the stage.
This stage is very ridiculous to me. When I am playing a Doubleplay 1-ALL of this game, I didn't know what hit me in this one.

Yeah, I do know of the little gaps from those big tanks, hadn't really thought of going up and down in those gaps, I'm sure it would help a lot too.
