  • ahha, that's what i owned.. ridge racer, tekken, air combat & loaded.. i think i was like 11-12.. 25 now..

times will never be the same

  • christmas just isnt the same without wacking out the sega or ps1

  • man this music ... pure nostalgia

  • dont you hate it when the water splashes your asshole while you take a dump? just me?

  • Comment removed

  • I've got to know the background music!

  • @IanHateHero man thats what im asking a few years now and he doesnt say ... it must be from a jap title of the era

  • @IanHateHero watch?v=a5ZLcyN40Rw&feature=related !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @gloup81 Woot! Thanks man. Heads up! :D

  • i love the song, what is it?

  • @fatmanlushi sounds like the beat for Genki Rockets - Heavenly Star

  • I only knew of Jumping Flash because of those demo discs they used to hand out.. and then you can press a shoulder button and it will reveal a button sequence on the back that shows trailers for upcoming games..

  • Why can't PSN have all Ps1 titles?

  • PS1 and PS2 have all the classics.

  • I still have my copies of Battle Arena Toshinden and Tekken! :D

  • destruction derby on the ps3!

  • wow wipeout was so graphically superior to the other games also i never knew tekken was a launch game, (i jumped onto the bandwagon at tekken 2)

  • check out my video response of my top ten guys :P

  • There it is! Toshinden. Remember playing that game at a friends house when I was in primary school. Never remembered the name of that game.

  • playstation has such bad graphics, textures always moving and object sometimes see through. i love it though

  • @JeremyPetho It's over a decade and a half old, cut it some slack :)

  • Seems like only yesterday.

  • i got the black car without ever letting him pass me when i beat him ftw

  • CyberSled gave me a hell of a flashback! First and so far only time I was in America, I played it on arcades! Gott be around 4-5 years old couse thats one of my absolute first memories what I can remeber of...wow, that is top of nostalgic! However, the game was very hard as I remember it...

  • wipeout still looks great

  • i always thought ps1 had better graphics than n64 i always saw the graphics more realistic than n64 just my opinion

  • @videogamepimp22 There is a little truth to that - because of the storage limitations of the Cartridge the N64 used very low quality textures which when stretched often gave a blurry/muddy overall look to its games, even though the Playstation was not as powerful it could display crisper textures at resolutions up to 640 x 480.

  • That was a really great time

  • @videogamepimp22 Back then graphics didn't matter. It was the game-play, the story, that's what mattered. Now since we live in this materialistic generation, that's all that matters. Graphics. Idk, but a true gamer doesn't care about graphics. I'm a true gamer.

  • @MistikaManiac true gamer is playing everything, whatever ...graphic, storyline, mode...maybe much people hate about graphic its because low computer requirments

  • @InsaneDy ok, so your going to play dora the explora for Nintendo DS? i think not. people who complain about graphics when there perfectly fine are selfish pigs. i don't want to associate with them.

  • @videogamepimp22 go see shenmue for sega saturn ! D:

  • @videogamepimp22 Yes, they were more defined though they had less polygons than n64.

  • ahhh wipeout, good times

  • it's not crap music... i already heard this song...

it's from Lumines 2... Heavenly Star

  • I hate to say it, but those graphics were pretty good for the 90s

  • @thehovertech Why do you hate to say that? That's actually a good thing

  • That is Rage Racer not Ridge Racer. (In the UK anyway.)

  • @IKnowBestest It is Ridge Racer (and in the UK)

  • @IKnowBestest

A few points here know it all, judging from your profile you were 5(6 in a month) when Ridge Racer was released, and that indeed is Ridge Racer.Rage Racer was third in the series(rave Racer was Arcade only) and released in 1997 your roughly 7 at this stage, whereas I on the otherhand was 15..So do us all a favour and dont talk about things you know nothing about. You were still in diapers back then kid...

  • yeah the good old times

  • This is from 1995? So the first Tekken and Ace Combat games were already there when I was 2? Then why the hell was I playing Duke Nukum when I was 4?

  • @DrsJacksonn what??

  • @DrsJacksonn Because Duke Nukem is a classic game! ;)

  • They need to make a remake of Battle Arena Toshiden for the Ps3

  • wrong ther eis a 3d game wich is impossible to be the first game cause doom and duke nuke em wer eone of the first games in 3d

  • @HOUSPARTYMIXERS who is this comment aimed at?

  • @SohoMonkey what you mean

  • @HOUSPARTYMIXERS Your first comment, I don't understand it

  • @SohoMonkey i mean that there is a 3d game the 4th video of a old game is not right THERE WAS A GAME CALLED doom. that was the first game in 3d so your video doesnt is correct

  • @HOUSPARTYMIXERS your comment doesn't make any sense, did you read the video description?

  • @SohoMonkey no but i know i suck at comment sso anyway cya later

  • The PlayStation one was truely a console made from pure gold.

  • tune name ?

  • And doom. :D I love that game for ps

  • introducing, The worlds best graphics ever! That's what they would have said when those were made. now we say, look at those giant pixels!

  • i must have mentioned it before but , the music selection couldnt be best , if uve been playing ps1 in the past the tune kicks u with emotions !

this vid without much further editing should be somewhere in playstation network for real

sony owes it not just to us , but to herself firstly , these are the ten litle things that made sce what is today

  • @gloup81 Thanks for the nice comments!

  • ok i come back , im the guy who insired of this vid to make a collection of the original cd's

so far got sces : 02 , 03 .05 .07,09 ,10 !!! all in great almost like new condition !except aircombat

the graphs now look a bit outdated , the sound tho stands out really well and considering the selected playlists is way much better than todays titles , sces10 FTW !

  • Air combat :D sooo fun i was so young back then

  • Wipeout blew my fuckin mind.

  • does anyone remember this race space kind of game that had funny crazy skit scenes came out in 95 or 96

  • @404040c can you try to remember a little more about it and i'll see if I can find it?

  • @SohoMonkey cyberspeed there boom first game i got when the ps1 first came out got that game for christmad with it

  • Coincidentally these are all quality games.

  • this video is amazing! I got a ps1 in 1999 towards the end of its life. Tekken still better than most beat em ups today

  • Air Combat was fucking epic

  • @Tobikicksass hells yeah dude!!!

  • i never undestood why the released tekken 1 while in coin ups there was tekken 2 atleast 1 year

i bought tekken (tho ) and dd

ridge racer was my 1st copy

  • @gloup81 You will probably find Namco had been developing the PS1 version way back before the PS1 was released

  • i miss 1999 - 2005 the best years in my life! :(

  • Wipeout!

  • ridge racer to gt 5.What about 20 years later?

  • Comment removed

  • I have over 300 ps1 games and yet ive never heard of rapid reload. It looks awesome buying it now.

  • @roundtr1p Its pretty damn good, it can be quite expensive to buy these days for some reason.

  • @SohoMonkey not many picked it especially for 1st game u were after a 3d and not 2d , so no reason to re-release it , so a sealed one is a rarity

btw the music in the vid matches up so good , ur vid inspired me to reform a mini collection of games that i really liked , i just receaved wo 2097, ill also try to get all 1st ten on theyre original "black" editions unlike wo2097 which in purpose i bought a platinum mint one

  • @gloup81 Yeah, all of my games are the original versions, I actually bought all these games back at the time they where released so if there was ever a game I wanted - I bought it before the Platinum release.

  • @roundtr1p btw u have just a bit more than 3% of the ps games ...yay

  • @gloup81 16% of PAL releases actually. I own all the good games I know of. The rest of the library is awful sports/movie/kids games.

  • Fuck Xbox btw.

  • Awesome vid, I can't believe it, jumpin jacks and battle arena toshinden!

  • Cool video ps1 is my favourite console ever closely followed by dreamcast

  • I miss 1995 - 2002

  • @sunderland46 man I really agree with you about 1995 - 2002.

  • @ugforthewin someone who agrees with me thank you

  • and cool music

  • soul blade = toshiden (no diference)

  • @pizzo45ivanisevic No one here is talking about your Red Ringed 360 and if you wanna take it that far the PS1 and Saternn are 10 times as better then the dam 360, Sega Dreamcast still owns but this is a PS1 thread.

  • Wow Memories, When i first got my PS1 I had 15 games that were in the original ´generic dvd typed boxes. I've been able to re catch all accept two games I use to own. One game was about Aliens attacking Earth and this scientist daughter get's infected by one but her dad saves her from complete transformation. Pretty much it was a shooter like Machine Hunter but she was on foot, the game looked amazing, if anyone has a clue what it is pm me. The other game was just a driving shump like total ecli

  • Destruction Derby and Tekken used most of my childhood up but it was incredible to see how much the graphics got better on the ps1 like comparing tekken 1 with tekken 3.

  • @pizzo45ivanisevic Kinda lame, fanboy.. =S

  • I am going to collect all PSX Pal releases in chronological order in the way they are listed on gamespot. Currently, playing Rayman 1.

  • *sigh* I really miss the Playstation. Back in the good old days when there was no stress no anxiety no drama. Just playing games. Spyro was the shit for me. I collect PS1 games now because of the impact they had on my child hood. Great video

  • metal gear soild was the best for the ps1

  • These were the days..

  • was the ps3 in 1993 ???

  • @sonicadx sorry, I mean the ps1 not ps3

  • @sonicadx Late 94 to 95 is when it came out, I think

  • @foreal1992 ok cool

  • wats the 3rd game

  • @Curid Jumping Flash. An odd looking yet addicting game.

  • tekken 4 ever!!

  • there was a gunners heaven port for the playstation!?

  • when you showed wipeout, the music went perfectly with it, it was epic

  • i swear this song is familiar its like i heard it when i was a kid

  • hey mate :) great video, thanks for sharing. Maybe you already know, here is the official list of the games which were released on the start of the PS1 in Europe: 3D Lemmings Battle Arena Toshinden JumpingFlash! Kileak - The Blood Novastorm Rapid Reload Ridge Racer (Double Jewel Case Version) Wipeout (Double Jewel Case Version)
  • Very nice video mate But not all of this list are the first PS1 games. Some were released later. the first PS1 games (which were released on the start of the PS1) are: 3D Lemmings Battle Arena Toshinden JumpingFlash! Kileak - The Blood Novastorm Rapid Reload Ridge Racer (Double Jewel Case Version) Wipeout (Double Jewel Case Version) The others came some weeks/month later.
  • So basic.

  • I gotta say i personally NEVER liked the original wipeout, bumping into the sides of the tracks and bringing you to a halt is one thing, but making the tracks width so small was another and made it unforgivable. Loved ridge racer, tekken, toshinden, rapid reload, destruction derby and air combat though!

  • good song ;D

  • omg the 1st game, i had when i was like 5 years old omg memmories

  • WOW! Just look at those grafikz!

    .

Shame the Acorn Archimedes ARM based processor (same as in 3D0) that came out in 1987 was several times more powerful than the PS1 but was never marketed for games.

    .

3DO came out earlier, graphically blew the PS1 away but was 4 to 5 times the price with crap marketing.

  • @ogicabp4u Im not so sure that the 3DO blew away the PS1 to be honest. I had both machines and the PS1 was arguably better at handling polygons than the 3DO was. I think perhaps the 3DO was more difficult to develop for than the PS1. I have to say Road Rash on the 3DO was all kinds of awesome though.

  • @iago71 compare starfighter 3000 on the PS1, 3DO and Saturn and PC as well as the Archie. Development was better for the PS1 but the 3DO hardware was superior.

  • @ogicabp4u wo the fuck needs good graphical games with a shitty gameplay?

  • @gerboog No one, but Syberia on the PS1 just happened to be a great game with great grapics for it's time, come to think of it, It's one of the three I haven't seen in a long time and no one on youtube has it. The game was like a PC adventure titem with arcade shooter action for a long part of the game, spent flying around in some type of futuristic craft. Decent and War Hawk was sick too with great graphics for their time or at least until 97 came and games started to looked better.

  • the ps1 was the last truly great console IMO

  • Rapid reload!! I thought nobody knew that great game... hahaha.... Good memories of my teen.

  • MediEvil 1 and 2 Is so good games :)

  • Man, Rapid Reload was awesome. It was a mix between Contra and Megaman. Also it's quite sadly apparent how, graphics aside, the Tekken games have hardly changed in 15 or so years. Same characters, same moves.

  • back in the day...

  • Man, I used to session Cybersled.

  • Great video. I remember battle arena toshindin was the first game I had with my ps.

  • God...The world of gaming has come a looooong way...Games like this...Now games look almost like real life! Man I miss the old days.

  • great video, i remember all these games like i was playing them yesterday. I miss 1995 :(

  • The Psygnosis games were really good. Played Destruction Derby and Wipeout like crazy when they first came out.

I remember for some reason I was hesitant to play Jumping Flash because I thought it looked ridiculous, but when I finally played the game I played it for hours. It was addicting in a strange way.

Hell most all of the early titles on the Playstation were good. It was hard to find bad games at that time.

  • I think its because these types of games where so new to us that we where blown away by the graphics, and didn't necessarily look too much into the gameplay.

But you are right, most of the games in this video are still pretty good.

  • @dsmspyder sony tried to have an eye catching release team ,

early enough saw that psygnosis was manipulating ps engine in a way none did by that time and converted psygnosis inot scee

  • There were quite a few games released before Tekken. Tekken was released for ps1 in '96.

  • I know, I have listed them by catalogue number.

  • Here is a game that should have been on this list, Loaded. It came out before Tekken, like a year or so.

  • Yeah, I know, like I said, it was in catalogue number order, Tekken was released on November '95 and Loaded was released on February '96

  • oh, I swore I saw the release date as something 1995.

  • @sayhellorosco Tekken was out in nov 95 in PAL land. I got it for xmas 1995. :)

  • I remember being blown away by wipeout the first time i played it on Dixons display Ps1, I think!

  • Ah i didn't know you could trace that kind of stuff back like this.

    Cool vid.

I so hope Toshinden comes back with some good games *sigh*

  • Some of these look awesome =O..i might get them..Thx for posting this video ^^

  • I love Cyber Sled!

This is a great video that's so well made (sure, it's simple) that it looks like Sony made it.

Song name? Artist? It's catchy :)

  • Nevermind. It's "Heavenly Star" by the Genki Rockets. Thanks, SohoMonkey!

  • Yep, thats the one, and thanks for the kind comment, g1Chase357!

  • Ps1 4 ever <3 same as n64!

  • tekkens been with sony from the start but now tekken 6:BL is going to be on the 360 HOW DID SONY LOSE TEKKEN?????????

  • companies will do whatever it takes for money: resident evil being produced for xbox 360,resident evil 4 for ps2 (even though it says only for gc in the gc version) when the resident evil producer said he would chop his head off if the game was resaled for ps2

  • ace combat was lost to the 360 aswel!!

  • tekken rocks

  • nice video.. never knew what the first ten were,, ps made it to Australia later than America and Europe. wouldn't mind seeing the last 10 games released on the PS1 as well aye..

do you think Sony will ease back on the ps2 next year so they can focus on the ps3?

  • Thanks for the comment, I reckon they will ease back on the PS2, they have to an extent already.

I doubt I have the last 10 PS1 games but if I did I would make a video.

Oh and nice channel btw, I'm somewhat obsessed with the Dreamcast!

  • Sony have Liverpool company Psygnosis to thank for the initial success of the Playstation. They made great games, that is before they started to lay off their talent.

  • so true!

  • jesus...memories of birthdays and

die hard trilogy and the xgames sports one

  • whats the song?

  • Its called Heavenly Star by the Genki Rockets.

  • thanks!

  • damn i used to love that lemmings game

  • Thnx you.

  • it's so good to remenber those old times =)

  • Yeah, it does take you back a little ;)
