  • I hear EVERYONE when they say 'if you're rich, then you don't need a credit card.' But the thing, is a LOT of places don't take checks, and you don't always want to use your ATM--not always a good idea to have your bank account at EVERY store that you go to. So, you put it on your AMEX...green, gold, plat. or BLACK and pay it off at the end of the month with the money you haven't used yet!!! (You shouldn't charge and spend your money at the same time!)

  • james camron has one

  • and THAT'S WHY YOU DONT HAVE A CENTURION CARD. You do have to spend that money and yes it is by invitation only. People to call in to get reviewed for the card by their request and get turned down. The only ones that gettheir card at their request are govt officials and influential people to the company. Otherwise tough shit for you. Oh, and by the way, idiot, I am a FEMALE!

  • 133,974,027.00

That looks like $133 million to me pal.

  • People know me. I'm...sort of a big deal. I have many leather bound books and my apartment smells of rich mahogany.

  • My dad got one of those =)

  • ur talkin shit

  • @Jlow90 Shut the fuck up =)

  • i met mischa barton from the OC tv show she doesnt have one because i met her at bank of america she has a regular atm card LOL @ you MISCHA

  • that is 13 million you idiot

  • 133,974,027.00

That looks like $133 million to me pal.

  • its 134 million man (133,974,027.00 to be exact), cant you count ????

  • falkenholt is wrong i can almost promise he doesn't work there. his facts are all OFF. From Personal EXP I KNOW for FACT 5 years is BS. You don't need to be 18, I have friend who is 16 who has one his Name is printed on the card. You don't need to spend 50k a month. Min of 250k a year in spending. 300K is normally what they go after. Yes they are still black, they are not plastic in some regions anymore

  • Also invite is not needed anymore.

  • holly shit did anyone see the bill at the end!! it said 133 million!

  • The Black Card, aka the Centurion Card, is indeed still black. From what I can recall, you need to spend at least $250,000 a year, not $300,000 and you MUST have been a Platinum Card holder before upgrading. It used to be by invitation only, but now you can just card Customer Service and ask them to review your account and see if you qualify. I would love to have one someday.

  • I work for Amex in the Platinum dept. And I can tell you that IT IS by invitation only and you must have a platinum account first. You must be a CM for at least 5 years and spend over $50,000 a month consistently in order to be invited. Also to be a primary holder on the account you MUST be 18 no exception. This is the legal age in the USA to sign contracts and be held liable to them

  • Somebody that qualifies for this card doesnt need a credit card, they got a lot of money, who needs a credit card when you have tons of money ! Just for showoff !!

  • wrong! who just walks around with thousands of dollars worth of cash on them at all times? no one. it's no show off. it's service convenience protection savings etc... you should read your booklet that came with your Amex card. there are a lot of benefits that come with these cards that NO OTHER CARD PROVIDES. a lot of gold card holders don't even know they have them
  • I walk around with 5k to 9k thousand in my wallet at all times! so yes people do!

  • but i also use my mastercard

  • you're not worried about getting bopped on the head possibly murdered for such a small amount of cash?

  • You can have one at 17 if you ask for an additional card on an existing account say in your parents name and say that you're 18 on the application they'll give you one. I don't have a Black Card but I'm 17 and I got a gold card this way, my dad doesn't like the fee on the platinum and this things fee is $2500 soo don't think he'll upgrade to this one either:)

  • shieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet

  • That's True, and would be nice to have at 17 lol

  • also, they are not black anymore..... maybee you can have one at 17 if your in another country since they do things diffrently.....and they do not send out invites anymore as far as I was told. they change things every year just as everyone else does. the things your sent and privelages you get change all the time.

  • I know a guy who owns high priced restaurants and has one. also in the new york new jersey area im sure he sees alot of them in his buisness. its not that uncommon here. I do not have one since I am middle class but to say no one on youtube has one is just silly. im sure a few people who look at youtube have them and its not a big deal.

  • ir0xr0z, you think that anyone who claims to have a black card is lying? All that means is that you obviously have not ever met any influential people before, that's all. Of the 10,000 people on this planet who hold that card, 2 of which are in my immediate family, which is why your post made me laugh. (furuteelement however, is incorrect. I don't care who he thinks he is, you cannot have one at 17..plus you must me exclusively invited to become a card holder.)

  • anyone here who claims to have a black card. lies, but you can keep dreaming.

  • want to bet, My girlfriend has one fool

  • I've got Black and im 17, talk about special =D

  • sure.

  • I have the gold Amex...

  • No the black card has tons of benefits.

My father has a centurion card. He got it because he does all of his business purchases with american express. It's amazing.

  • the mag for the card is called "black ink"

  • the Platinum Card is OK for me.

  • wtf did she spend $100mil on? a villa? a 747?

  • Pfff You get Departures with the Platinum card.
