Did someone dare to say Fleming doesn't trill properly? She simply has the best trills since Sutherland! Actually, I think that her ability to sing amazing trills are only surpassed by Sutherland and equaled by Callas and Schwarzkopf. They're real gems! Besides, her almost "supernatural" timbre, which is liquid, creamy and velvety, is ideal to baroque arias like this. I love the way she refuses to sing Baroque with that "white" style, instead imbuing it with drama and richness! ;-)

@OperaBR Absolutely agree - no one around today has trills as fine as Renée. So many people have no idea.

I have no experience with this opera, but recognize some similarities musically with other works by Handel(one of my favourite composers). I need to learn the story better than I know it now. However, I love Renee's voice(and Natalie Dessay's).
