  • Do you think i can catch a spinner or a blacktip shark with a penn battle 8000 with 65lb power pro on an emcast 12foot 8-12oz?

  • I'm thinking you got it mounted? Based off your description

  • @LogDon69

    The shark was released.

  • it's not that watching some guy fish for 6 minutes isnt interseting, but i feel this video could have only been about a minute long and still be interesting

  • @nickynobodychannel

I make my videos much shorter now. Most of my new videos are around the 3 minute mark.

  • @caseykckckc

  • @freshtosaltfishermen

    65lb Power Pro.

  • yea i noticed that

  • i think they have it cunfused between the ofs and th os

  • @tonyel120

The OFS, OS, or OF is all the same reel. curtgowdysharkhunter likes to challenge every video I have and everything I say, I don't know why, but I am thankful for his comments.

  • u think ur so great??? i cought JAWS beat that!

  • @MNpropaintballer2

    Very cool!

  • @BlacktipH lol ur s funny!

  • it says on the website that sells it that it holds 600 yds 0f 100 lb braid or do they mean spectra

  • @tonyel120

It doesn't. I could only fit 550yds of 65lb braid on the reel and I used a machine to do it and wore gloves to make the line extra tight.

  • @BlacktipH trust me it fits 600 yards even more if you pack it on wet

  • @curtgowdysharkhunter

Why then does Fin-Nor now say on their website that the Offshore Spinning OF9500 will fit 600yds of 20lb mono but only 470yds of 65lb braid? Wet or dry, the braid still doesn't stretch. Because the braid doesn't stretch, you can never have the same line capacity as its equivalent mono size.

  • @curtgowdysharkhunter

Here is a good analogy: You have a 6" long piece of an elastic band and a 6" long piece of nylon lace. If you tightly wrap each piece around the same finger, the elastic band will have more wraps. This is the same idea with monofilament and braid of equal diameters on a metal spool, the mono will always have more wraps around the spool because of its stretch, therefore you will fit more mono than braid.

  • @BlacktipH yea when you pack on mono it packs on tighter because off the strech but remember wet packing braid as tight as you can is the same principal it holds more line plus you can over fill the spool with braid you cant with mono, braid has no memory thus no bird nesting if you fill it up to much, but if you fill it up past the lip of the spool then it will birds nest on you

  • @Blacktiph and why are you holding the braid to the rod blank the b raid will cut your fingers clean off

  • give a man a fish he eats for a day teach a man to fish he eats for a lifetime

  • FUCK YOU ASSASSIN!

  • cant the fin nor os9500 hold 600 yds of 100 lb braid

  • @tonyel120

Nope, a reel will always hold less braid than it's equivalent diameter mono. The reason for this is becuase the mono stretches on the spool, allowing more line to be spooled on. The braid doesn't stretch at all.

  • tahts awsome

  • tap 6 over and over

  • liv the shark alone ! its not a toy !!!

  • catching a shark isnt easy kutos to you

  • dude, you would like it if i grabed you fucking leg and and drag you on the florr

  • Hmm u are not afraid to pull him out of water like this? :D

  • I hope u released him after :/

  • @Mateset

    The shark was released.

  • sucker

  • Dude get a Cam Caddie to keep your shots steady it would look a lot better. They're only like $38. Be careful playin with the sharks.

  • poor shark man!

  • noooooooooo I don't like it!!! I feel soo sorry for the shark!!!

  • @benna88 i think you wont feel sorry when you are in ther territory and they are prying on you

  • :O his dick ._.

  • I'm rethinking the whole surf fishing thing for sharks cus i dont want to have bringing sharks in close to shore on my consiounce

  • @henrydamannn

Bait in the water doesn't bring sharks to shore. This is a myth and completely false. Coastal shark species live in shallow waters and cruise the beach lines everyday for food. Do some research and watch some videos on the blacktip migration in Florida and you will see that they hang around the beach, fishermen don't bring them there. People are ignorant to the fact that sharks and other large predatory fish live and hunt in very shallow beach waters.

  • @BlacktipH thanks man

  • @BlacktipH What happened to the shark? Did you let it go?

  • @pivotfan23

    The shark was released.

  • Nice. i would like to go shark fishing with my dad :D

  • is that a 12' rod?

  • @crocksrock101

    Yes.

  • @BlacktipH I am goin surf fishing for shark for the first time and I would like to know if a heavy action 8ft rod and reel spooled with 40 lb braid is enough, is it?

  • @henrydamannn

What kind of reel are you using?

  • Comment removed

  • @BlacktipH "quantum omni 60" spooled with 150 yards of 40lb braid

  • @henrydamannn

150yds is not enough, you will get spooled. You need a minimum of 300yds.

  • @BlacktipH How far do you usually cast because im mainly targeting blactips and sand tigers,

  • @henrydamannn

    20-40yds.

  • How do you keep the braided line from digging in when you have you drag pretty tight

  • @RevoS90

I haven't had it happen on a spinning reel. I have seen it happen on leverdrag and conventional reels. Just spool the line on tight to the spool and you shouldn't have any problems.

  • what kind of gear and tackle r u using?

  • @cecilcountyoutdoors

Go to my website, blacktiphfishing (search on Google) and check out the FAQ page. It should answer most of your questions. If you have anymore after reading those, please feel free to ask. :)

  • thats not a 150lb shark bud thats about an 80lb

  • @schoendd I don't no any thing about fishing, but your stupid if you think that thing weighs only 80 pounds.

  • @prettyoddmcr

    Thanks you!

  • Sweet catch, looks like a blast.....

  • do people swim in this beach ? wheres this beach located btw?

  • @shqiperiany

Yes people swim at this beach. The beach is located in Southeast Florida.

  • @BlacktipH is it rare for shark attack on humans? i read down there you said they swim as close as 30 yards from the shore.

  • @shqiperiany

More people die a year from coconuts falling on their head than from shark attacks.

  • @BlacktipH good answer :)

  • Wow!! I was just in Marco Island, Florida, and my brother and dad when charter fishing, my brother who is 11, caught a 3 FT Black Tip. We then went to a scuba diving store, and the owner of the store, caught a 16 FT Tiger Shark right off the shore. But that was in 1983.

  • @MissJdb0123

What's the name of the store?

  • What bait did you use?

  • @ShortFingeredShreder

    Blue runner

  • are the sharks swimmin 30 yards from the shore?

  • @lynoj777

Yes they are very close, sometimes they are right in the trough.

  • shark fishing on the surf...... idiots...

  • nicecatch i fish for sharks myself and catch 6 footers and stuff like tht i also have my own fishing show on utube called fishing expeditions but nice shark good job

  • did you cast it out that far? or went out in a kayak and dropped the bait?

  • @ralphienucci

    We casted the bait 30yds.

  • WHERE IS THIS IN MIAMI!!! WHAT BEACH?!?!?!

  • were is theshark

  • @watsup266

    What do you mean?

  • @BlacktipH nvm

  • @BlacktipH he means: where is the shark :P

  • ja faz um estrago legal !

  • Ive never sharked fished before but want to get into it. Im in NY so dont really get to. Im heading to Myrtle beach in Spring. What equipment do you suggest for a starter. I have to cast out from the beach. I know theres whiting around so i was thinking of catching some as bait. How do I rig It? thanks

  • @mmirizio

Watch my video on how to make shark rigs. I would suggest buying a Penn 950ssm spooled with 65lb Powerpro and buying a 12ft surf rod that can cast up to 8oz of weight. Use a piece of bait the size of a closed fist.

  • @BlacktipH

    Cheers, mate

I did what u said, bought 950ssm and braided it with 70lb and today I got my first 1 meter shark !!!

    wooo

But if u please make a video for how to adjust the drag of the reel to suit the rod and the line u have

ie I don't want to tighten the drag too much the rod may break or the line snap !!!

how to know if its enough ??!!

  • @euyooo

Thats good news! It's something you have to learn yourself and become comfortable with. Some people like a loose drag, others like a tight. When surf fishing, I never have a drag tighten that what I can pull with my hands. When I'm kayaking baits, I lock the drag down at my hook-set, 0-50lbs right away so I can turn a big fish and prevent him from spooling me.

  • @euyooo

really thank u very much, but I have a problem now is that my rod can't cast more than 100 grams of bait and sinker !!!!!!! every time I cast it I fear to hear the crack sound !!!

what kind of not very cheap not very expensive rod that can handle these 8 oz u talking about ??!!

my range is like 100 AUD.

  • @euyooo Was wondering if you have tried the pendelum style casting . I can get a pound of bait out about 50 yds. I've also come up with a way to get the bait cast out while attached to a senator reel , and a short rod . I've only been using this system for a short time , but I'm sure range and bait size will improve with practice.

  • @mmirizio I caught many large sharks , surf fishing there on Long Island . .If you're interested in more details ,let me know . Many in 200 lb. plus range .

  • U ever use whiting as bait?

  • @mmirizio

I know they work for bait. I prefer to use bonita, blue runners, jacks, and barracuda.

  • @mmirizio

  • You ever surf fish in myrtle Beach before?

  • @mmirizio

    No sir.

  • I just need some help.

am new to fishing, I just want to know a good surfing reel that would handle 80lb line braid and I'll use it on a big surf rod for sharks.

also If u can tell anything about a rod as well I appreciate it

any info any type any kind of info will be good.

  • @euyooo

Try using a Penn 950ssm and spool it with 65lb Power Pro. A 12ft rod that will cast 4-10oz will be good. Try a Penn Pursuit or Okuma Solaris surf rod.

  • @BlacktipH thank u very much, do u have price ranges for those ??!!

    Cheers, thanks again

  • @euyooo

Search online for tackledirect, they have great prices! The products I listed are sold there.

  • @BlacktipH

thank u very much for ur help, just one last question if u can answer me !!

what's the maximum drag ??!! as some one told me to go with Fin-Nor Offshore SPIN OF 95 because its Max drag rating on this reel is 60lbs compared to 6.8 kg only for the 950ss !!!!

what do u recommend and I actually need that ?!! cheers

  • @euyooo

You will never use more than 20lbs of drag on a spinning reel. Most of the time, you will use less than 10, even on sharks.

  • what was ur bait?

  • @iDoWutiWant1

    Blue Runner

  • what kind of reel r u using?

  • @awsome815

    Fin-Nor OS9500 spooled with 65lb PowerPro

  • awesome catch! that looks like a fun fight.

  • fight boy fight!!!!!!! C-mon!! get in thier!

  • @smoothcriminal997

I use a #15 wire leader that's about 15 inches with about 6ft of 500lb mono crimped above that. I tie a snap swivel to the powerpro and connect the leader to the snap.

  • @smoothcriminal997

    Yes sir.

  • @smoothcriminal997

It depends on the girth, a 7ft Blacktip could weigh 200lbs.

  • 3 questions. what size hook did you use? did you use braid? and do you cast your bait?

  • @mmirizio

12/0 Eagle Claw Sea Circle, Yes I was using 65lb Power Pro, and Yes I do cast my bait.

  • hey blacktip

does ur drag on ur spinning reel kinda like wear out after a few big sharks?

  • @jtr10411

No, I would suggest cleaning your drag discs every year.

  • how do you get the hook out of that dude?

  • @murybcm

I either use a pair of pliers or an ARC DeHooker. It's much easier when you another person helping you removing the hook. It's best if one person sits on the back of the shark and holds the mouth open, while the other person, takes the pliers or DeHooker and removes the hook.

  • @BlacktipH scary...keep the videos coming man I love em

  • @smoothcriminal997

Drop offs and plateau's. Fishing near inlets works well. Fishing in the morning & evening works well too!

  • @smoothcriminal997

It depends on the day, somedays they are 5ft from shore, other's they are 5 miles from shore. It depends where the bait is and where they are schooling up.

  • @PastranaBigFan199

That is a Fin-Nor OS9500 and I spooled a little over 550yds of 65lb Power Pro on it.

  • wat kinda fish were u using

  • @shtupnfish

    Blue Runner

  • what was your bait for shark/?.. isnt it illegal to catch shark?

  • @judexnierva

It is perfectly legal to catch sharks, check the FWC. I like to use Barracuda, Bonita, & Stingray for bait.

  • dang tourons dont know a thing about fishin... fyi a touron is a tourist moron. good fishin. good to see somebody else out there knows what they're doin.

  • What size line are you using?

  • @samjklein 65lb Power Pro

  • Questions about drag.

1st. Do you palm the spool when you set the hook on a shark on spinning reel?

2nd. As you play the fish in to shore, do you keep a medium drag set or what?

  • @Penitent1000

1st: Nope I just tighten the drag and set the hook.

2nd: I keep a medium-heavy drag, but loose when they are jumping.

  • what kind of fishing rod did you have?

  • @tofumacmua 13ft Breakaway HDX Surf rod.

  • what size hook and what type of leader are you using for this shark?

  • @MegaBuckfever 7ft leader with a 12/0 Eagle Claw Sea Circle.

  • where do you live??

  • Canada

  • beautiful fight !! congratullation

  • hey by any chance is that reel u using the fin nor offshore series?

im using the fin nor ofs 9000 to do some shark fishing here in the seychelles! but im not using the 12 foot rods im using a jigging rod and it works really well! i landed a 14 foot lemon last week!

  • Yes sir!

  • Can you use monofilament for the main line?also are there any benefits of using either braided or mono?

  • Braid casts further and has much larger line capacities.

  • yea but braids abrasion restiance is horrible i would only use braid for backing on a reel

  • If your using a spinning reel, I wouldn't worry about it. I fish around a lot of rocks and have never really had that broken.

  • by the way nice sharks

  • to catch sharks i didnt cast far in fact it was an extremly short cast

  • what rod is this? where did you buy it?

  • That is a 12ft Tica surf rod, you can buy them at cabelas or Bass Pro.

  • 12ft? No way! Oh wait! How tall are you? I mean I heave 4 12ft rods and they seem much shorter. This one looks like 15 or even 18ft.

I throw with my 12ft to like 140 yards. Wanna buy 15-18ft rod to throw 200 yards ))
