Based on my knowledge of The Doctrine of Assurance, I would type... That a True Christian would not kill themselves because The True Christian doesn't willingly sin. The Doctrine of Assurance can be found in 1st John.

Just DON'T go off and kill yourself and test God and you won't need to worry if or will God forgive you. If you are depressed that badly, go talk to someone, seek some help and pray.

That just isn't biblical! There is no way a (true) believer can commit suicide and be with the Lord. Yes, Samson did die by pushing over the pillars, but he did it to kill the others and destroy this pagan temple... he did not say to God, "oh woe is me, my life is bad, God grant the strength I once had for your glory so I can kill myself..." NO! We can not teach believers that in taking their own lives, usurping God's authority, can live with God forever(Matt24:13)(Gal6:9)(1Co­r15:19)

What if they stumble and suicide is their result? Are they not forgiven for that? Sin is sin, there are no mortal sins other then turning from God.

Yes my friend, sin is sin, and God just doesn't forgive sin just like that... there is a price for forgiveness... the blood of Jesus... how can someone repent of suicide, which is what the Bible says is the door to forgiveness? But more than that, how can a born again believer who has been freed from worldly desires, and who is in love with Jesus, take their own life, and the reason they do it, not for the glory of Christ, but they do it because they don't find happiness in this life atall right

I could die in a car wreck while going to work and if I didn't ask for forgiveness that morning does that mean I'm condemned to hell? I think that's more of a Catholic way of thinking since that's where the whole suicide myth began. No where does it say we need to confess our sins in order to be forgiven. If we sin and are sorry then we will repent out of our sadness but Jesus' blood has covered any sin we've committed or will ever commit as long as we walk in the light.

But adding to that if a Christian is suffering from a mental condition, like depression, and falls into the temptation of Suicide how is that different from me falling to the temptation of lust, or greed? If I do my sin is already covered but because I feel guilty I feel the need to repent. Also, I believe even Paul alluded to the temptation of killing himself to be with God in Philippians 1:20-26.

but my friend the issue is that when you kill yourself, how can you repent... if that sin is covered, then that means i can sin and do whatever i want and not have to repent and i should expect to go to heaven, right... there isn't a special suicide clause in Jesus' forgiveness plan... that this is the only sin that doesn't require repentance

1 John 1:9, Hebrews 9:22 --- it isn't about asking forgiveness, its about being saved, a new creation that sins hates the sin and lives repenting

and adding... the bible teaches that if any creature be in Christ he is a new creation(2Cor 5:17) that God will take the stony heart out of us and give us a heart of flesh (Eze 36:26) A pig who has just became a man, may sometimes eat what he used to eat, the trash and slop, but there things pigs eat that men can't eat. He may chomp but after a while that man will throw it all up. This is repentance. a new creation with a new heart that sins lives repenting; suicide cnt be eaten by a believer

This kind of teaching is not biblical no matter if it comforts people. Suicide is a terrible tragedy but fact remains the individual left this life as an unrepentant sinner. If suicide is just a quick trip to heaven avoiding all the struggle of this life why doesnt the church and the Bible give us that. It Does Not.

That is SICK!! We should have COMFORT when a friend commits suicide!? I would be devestated and it is tragic. This guy is deceptive and full of lies. How was the SELF-MURDER of the person commiting suicide forgiven..they're gone..they did not repent of that, it's too late for them to repent and ask forgiveness...they die as a MURDERER. He that commits sin is of the devil...no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him. 1Jn.3:8,15

Commiting suicide is murder. A murderer cannot go to heaven.

wurlytone, All sin is forgivable when a person comes to God and sincerely confesses and desires to turn away from that sin. No where in scripture is a person allowed to confess a sin, go commit the sin, and be cool with God because they already asked forgiveness. The grace of God is there for us when we come to God with a penitent heart for things we've done, but not the reverse like you propose. I cannot ask God to forgive me then go on a sinning spree and think God will honor that.

@iamthebest6367 But if ur saved when u commit suicide i dont think u will go to hell.Because repentance is not what saves us but the sacrifice of Jesus saves us because he paid for all of our sins.Repenting isnt asking for saving grace but for the forgiving grace.Repentance means to agree with God that it is a sin and ask him not to hold it against u because it was already payed for by Christ on the Cross.there was alot debate on this subject,But Jesus himself said he forgives all sins .

I don't condemn suicide and ni does the Bible. But I would only do it for a good reason. Ex: Your being tortured day after day by the fascist cops that help run this country. One day a gaurd leaves his gun in the room your being tortured in and leaves. I would take the gun and have a shootout and hopefully kill those evil pricks or dirctly kill myself. I would say both are suicide but God is fair so I don't think he'd condemn you.

Many people in the O.T. also commited adultery, murder, idolatry, lying, and incest. Are all these things we can do if we ask for forgiveness before we go do them? That is dumb to think because God is willing to forgive a sinner that we can sin when we want and God' has to accept it. The O.T. also says, THE SOUL THAT SINNETH WILL SURELY DIE!

Your comment seems a bit blameful and misdirected. Blame the godless and graceless people not God for suicide! Look at world wide trends and you'll see that actually in atheistic/communistic (old Soviet Bloc and Far Eastern (esp. N. Korea, China and Cambodia) countries that the suicide rate is astronomically (9-13 times higher depending on the source) higher than here in the highly churched US or more specifically in Christian circles!

I am comparing Christian vs nnchristian youth in the USA and Canada. I am a retired paramedic and counsellor. My counselling practice focused on Substance Abuse and Family Violence. I've done the research. I was very motivated, you see. My Christian son shot himself in the head over this shit.

And I think the nation with the highest suicide rate is Japan. If you don't pass the test to go to college or a university 50% of the kids that that happens to commit suicide because they have disgraced their family. Look at what those people believe. Their evolutionists.
