  • George Voinovich is a wanker. He is for amnesty to the illegals. He is for spanish press two.

  • @jacksblack1 Yes Spanish press, but apparently you aren't for English press otherwise you would know that in the English language there is a difference between two and too. Moron.

  • Comment removed

  • @Willredd94 I am a tea party conservitive, what are you? slow down and dont attack your own kind. Misunderstanding.

  • Fucking political tool just like all of them. General Petraeus knew what he was doing then, and knows what he's doing now. He shouldn't have to testify to the dumb shits in Congress.

  • voted no on unemployment extension...but lets sit down with syrians

  • the term rino was made for ppl like voinovich, i cant wait to vote against him

  • Voinovich is a naive skirt wearing pussy. Please change the R to a D. He fits in better with the limp dick liberals.

  • shut up boy..

  • I hope you are fighting in the war since you are such a brave one. I bet you are a chickenhawk just like the rest of the warmongers.

  • Finally a Republican who makes sense.

  • Stop killing people! Just stop it!!

  • VOte George Voinovich for President!

  • We have had up to here with the lack of support to the military. To the men putting it all on the line. We are raising a bunch of anti American sissies.

  • the reality is you fucker your all on the take destorying our country everyday for your greed this is a fake war its all a scam wtf wake up kick door the doors and demand they be taken out enough is enough

  • osama doesnt exist its all a scam we were all had our country is being run by euroupe we need to take our goverment back

  • This is an immoral war and the blood is on Bush's hands. I never dreamed that one man could do so much harm to our country. Seven more months. VOTE OBAMA.

  • Man Obama voters are such retards

  • I also appreciate Senator Voinovich's frustration.

  • Shouldn't have fuckin gone in there should you!!! The world told you to keep your nose out but oh no gung ho Yankees go in guns blazing once more to their detriment.

  • We don't answer to anyone let alone the UN, its a joke to listen to them. It was bad intelligence that got us in not lies. We didn't know what would happen today.

  • coolioman... therein lies the problem. You should take notice of world opinion on somethings or as you have found in Iraq you will be hoyst by your own petard! Your government chose to believe negative rather than positive intelligence. Much of their advice was negative on WMD's as was the seven and a half years of inspections by experts who found not one trace of biological, chemical or nuclear weapons yet what did your President repeat ad infinitum? WMD's, WMD's, WMD''s etc.

  • Voinovich talks sense. Its time to stop putting lives and good money after bad.We need to reacess, prioritize and redeploy our defense. The neocons are making our country weaker for the sake of their agendas. Its time Americans unite for the common good and to protect America first. They have been going about it all wrong for too long. The Iraqis need to step up.We are not an unlimited resource.

  • Voinovich has gotten rather bold in his statements, and he's coming dangerously close to telling the truth. We have taken on an impossible task of "stabilizing" Iraq. It is contributing to our nation's bankruptcy. We do have very serious financial problems to deal with here at home. Congress has allowed the American taxpayer to be fleeced by every group that can afford to fund a lobby. Our security guard (Congress) is in cahoots with the robbers because they're bought and paid for.

  • Things can get really really bad in Iraq if we leave? How about realizing that things are getting really bad in good old America? I mean honestly we can't do it anymore, we've officially maxed out the country's credit card. China is not accumulating our dollars anymore, and if they ever sold their holdings we'd be in Great Depression II.

  • At least one Republican honoring Obama ! ;-)

    Obama for President !

  • That's classic Sen. Voinovich. He makes an impassioned statement like that, but he has voted with Bush every step of the way. He made a show of skepticism about Bush's tax cuts, then voted for them. Made noise about the Bolton appointment, then voted it out of committee. Voinovich is one of the few Republicans I have voted for throughout his career, but he won't be getting my support next time around.

  • Besides the fact that politicians are "politicians", why does Voinovich keep voting with Bush? Is he a pseudo-republican?

Seriously though, he's clearly against the war, what's his deal?

  • his statement almost gave me hope for him...but your comment brought back the cold splash of reality

    Ron Paul 2008

  • This clip was bad ass. Wish you had the whole thing since this guy went from respectful american to just straight up ripping him apart.

  • China free slaves from Sudan

  • Crocker must use some amazing suntan lotion.. Dude is pasty.

BTW Voinovich is pretty bold - kudos! He voices the passion of the people! 82%! I think I saw a little spittle flying there..

  • If there is one principle more deeply rooted in the mind of every American, it is that we should have nothing to do with conquest - Thomas Jefferson

  • Idiots like you make ME ashamed to be from Ohio. Educate yourself and express an opinion.

  • I watched the freak show all day and was surprised McBush, Lieberman and Lindsey Graham and other senators didn't give Petraeus or Crocker blowjobs. The way they gushed over both 'witnesses', I'm sure they would have gladly gone to town on both had they only been allowed. No wonder nothing ever gets done in Washington. How do some of these senators continue to get re-elected? Idiots.

  • Throughout all of this, I just see Crocker and Petraeus as guys that were handed a steaming pile of turd and told to clean their plates, and if they don't smile the whole time, they're grounded. Crocker's voice gives it away, he's utterly terrified by the prospects he faces. I got the distinct impression of a man staring failure dead in the face.

  • All these pols saying 'the Iraqis need to do this' & 'the Iraqis need to do that'. What bullshit. The Iraqis don't have to do anything they don't want. It's their country, it's their decision, it's their choice. If they don't want to work/live with each other, we can force them to, end of story. The Shia tribes KNOW we can't stay there forever so they're going to hold out until we leave & then they'll go about excluding the other sects, Sunni/Kurd, from participating in gov't. It's time to leave

  • I love how we call this event the "General Petraeus Testimony" when everyone on the panel gladly sucked up as much time as they wanted expressing their own views.

The general deserves another star for unwavering patience and attention in the line of extreme blabbery. WTF.

  • This isn't the "General Petraeus Testimony." This is a Senate Armed Services Committee Hearing, which includes the testimony of Petraeus and Crocker, but in no way is it limited to that. Their testimony is just another item on the table.

  • I'm aware of that, but every news outlet around has been heralding this as the "grilling of the general" for the last week. It's like the "Rodney King Trial" which wasn't Rodney King on trial.

And I still think the guy commanding the mess in the desert should have been given more time to speak rather than take venting over a situation he didn't create.

  • The news outlets do not run the Senate. How the news portrays the event is irrelevant.

You act like Petraeus is somehow the one getting screwed here. HE is the one asking us to hold off on phased withdrawals of troops to pre-surge levels. HE is the one asking America to sink more and more money into the desert. And no, he's not the only one, but he's the one asking Congress for that money right now. The heat Petraeus (and Crocker as well) get over this is well deserved.

  • I am a registered democrat and I am also in the United States Military and I rarely agree with republicans but this time I happen to agree with Sen. Voinovich R-Ohio.

As a citizen and soldier I have had it with the War in Iraq because we should have not gone there in the first place we should have concentrated all of our resources on Afganistan.

Now, since we are there we must find a bipartisan solution to bring our troops home. We have lost too many of our soldiers figting an endless war.

  • The Neoconservatives are the enemy of the American people. They seek to use McCain as the next front for their agenda of war mongering, war profiteering, and war crimes in the name of Halliburton and Israel. The Neoconservatives have committed TREASON and must be treated accordingly.

  • ahhhh wiz' .....

you took the words outta my mouth !....

  • America is sick and tired of lies and liars and wars for Oil, but these trolls lying to us again.

  • wut a foo dat voinovuch

  • this bullshit of saying that bin laden ruined the US is very funny... it is a very easy way to give someone else guilty for the government own crap.

  • the ol' 'boogeyman' scenario ........

how long will the people believe in 'the lone nut syndrome ' ......

  • Around 1:20 it says R-Ohio under senator George Voinovich. What does the "R" stand for?

Go Ron Paul but I will vote for Obama in the general election.

  • R designates that he is a Republican.

These are things everyone who is going to vote should know.

  • Congradulations on hitting 1000 videos!

  • It's always comforting to hear a Republican favor reason over pigheaded partisan ideology. I think Senator Voinovich was right in proposing a diplomatic surge, impressing the urgency of our own very humbling domestic plight on Petreus and Crocker, and suggesting--rightly but unexpectedly--that Obama may well be our next president.

Did Voinovich point at Obama as the possible next president?

  • While I like that a Republican is talking reasonably, my understanding is that Voinovich is a politician, like Chuck Hagel, who is always aware of where the closest camera is.

Basically he did nothing but yell at the Ambassador and the General for not pulling the troops out yesterday. One, they don't have that authority, and two, they didn't get us into this in the first place. He has himself and his party's leadership to blame. One wonders if he lectures them in the same manner. I doubt it.

  • You're right about there being some political posturing here, but I don't think his statements are entirely cynical. Most senators do attend funerals for constituents killed in Iraq.

I think there's real frustration and grief in places like Ohio, as demonstrated by Voinovich stating right out that "we're in a recession and God only knows how long we're gonna be in it." I'll take acknowledgment of the cost of the war and the pitiful economic situation any way I can get it.

  • Yeah, I don't see it that way. I thought all his statements were realistic and coherent and that their tenor was to give Crocker and Petraeus the impetus to push for a democratic surge that is cohesive and symmetrical to the military surge. I don't think he could've made those statements with more passion or sincerity. I don't think there's anything wrong with him impressing on everyone his take on things in a tone that appropriately echoes MLK and Obama's view on "the fierce urgency of now."

  • RON PAUL!!

  • Is Voiniovich up for election this year? If he puts any more distance between himself and Bush he'll fly into orbit.

  • infowars dot com

    whatreallyhappened dot com

    wakeupfromyourslumber dot com

war is a racket by General Smedely Butler

  • Why's the camera on Obama at 2:16 and why does he look like he's gonna puke?

  • haha good one but try not to make fun. Its called body language.

  • Don't you get it?

    Good cop, bad cop.

    You have been had.

By the oldest, most sophisticated liars

    in human history.

  • Ron Paul has said this stuff long before Voinovich uttered a word.

The GOP has lost its way but it is not all lost. The GOP must return to the roots of limited government, low taxes, free markets and peace.

  • the GOP is all lost. that ron paul revolution pretty much petered out, huh? i thought it was bigger than one man.

  • There wont be any change in Iraq policy. This whole hearing fiasco thing is to fool the american people that the Congress care. Both parties are in on it and are benefiting whether financialy, politicaly or both. There will be more blood of innocent iraqis and brain washed american servicemen. These fools should be writing legislation to erodicate the core problem, the Federal Reserve Bank, the mother of all evils.

  • This guy is a republican??? well I'll be damn even they know we need to get back!

  • ambassador, I mean. I'm just ticked off that these generals that shrub has kept over there keep towing the party line, when they should be saying, get US the hell out of Iraq....

  • Wow, a Republican actually is thinking for himself! Man this refreshing! But it is only 5 years too late!

  • the ONLY republican I've ever voted for in my life (about 10 years ago) was this guy... he kissed b*sh's arse too much to begin with, but in the past 3 years he's been one of the more vocal against Shrubya, but certainly he needs to keep this tone EVERY TIME HE SPEAKS.

THE GOP IS THE PARTY OF WARMONGERING, OIL PROFITS, AND MILITARY PROFITS FOR THEIR BUDDIES - WE NEED OUT OF IRAQ NOW!

And George - NO, he doesn't know what you're asking him, he's a general that sucks b*shies arse.

  • 5...8...30...but who's counting?

  • Its about time a Republican started acting like one. I haven't seen that in about 8 years.

  • ryan shut the fuck up you know it aint bad out there get those fuckin troops out of there right now you in part of the money too.

  • Holy shit! Is there a war in Iraq??!! Shit, I got to watch the news more often! lol

  • If America doesn't step back, no one is going to step forward.

  • I love it when they say that the middle eastern countries have to step up to the plate.

They forget Powel's warning about the Pottery Barn Rule.

  • That brilliant 'what now?' question should have been asked before they ever went in, morons.

  • There is no intention to be at peace.

  • The congress needs the say enough is enough were going to stop this war

  • WOOT! 1000 VIDEOS! Good Job Veracifier

  • So what kind of books are you reading that your vocabulary consists of Fuck, fucking, and maybe three other words? Personally I like my reading to be a little higher up on the literary scale. But to each his own, I guess.

  • The kind that make me crazy, because I'm the only one reading them! You people are so uneducated, and filled with nothing but desert prejudices! Its time to wake up! Even you stupid book, the bible predicts the marking of the beast and the anti Christ! Look around you, do you think it could have been talking about BUSH?

  • Sure, it could. But it's kind of hard to take someone's arguments seriously when they don't make an intelligent argument. I might be in complete agreement with you, but I have no way of knowing because you've made no arguments--you've just ranted incoherently with a bunch of expletives.

  • and you've done what exactly with yr little statement? 500 words or less is hardly the format to explain anything to an uneducated bunch of throwbacks! Lol I'm so sick of you fuckers and your retarded arguments that always break down to faith and idiocy! I'm sick to death of the contradicting nature of your demographic! Retarded + fear + institutionalizing prejudice + numbers... that's all you got!

  • f#@$ Crocker.. who the hell does this guy think he is.. the American people didn't vote him in to make policy.

  • Hey 0liam, he is being a conservative not a Republican/Fascist, there is a difference, I am from Ohio, and a liberal, and support Voinovich

  • he is representing what republicans have traditionally been... until bush...

  • "In effect, we're kinda bankrupting this country..."

  • This is a goddam grenade throwing Republican Administration. They pretend to lead while the wounded are trying to recoupe. It is a hierarchical style of leadership. Do some huge damage pretend to be doing something worthwhile. It's Bushwanking special.

  • "uh, uh, uh, uh, uhhh"

  • Problems are often complicated, Solutions are often simple.

  • Consequences for who?

  • Boy, this guy won't get an invite to the next RNC dinner!

    Good for him.

  • This guy should have been the republican nominee instead of

    McCain

  • Actually Ron Paul should have been. He's another true conservative and actually is running.

  • thieves and liars...every one of them.

  • Finally a Republican with balls to admit that we are fucked up! What has happen to the American people, are they all hipnotized with their playstations, and xboxes, and Fox news that they don't see how the constitution is being stepped on with complete disregard, what the fuck does this adm have to do to get impeached!!!!!!!! Man american generation of the 60's and 70's must be asking themselve what has happen to America

  • This guys a frikkin genius, I can't believe he's a Republican... "A surge of diplomacy" that's gold man, that's gold... Vote Obama!

  • buncha crooks man..

  • Crocker looks sort of ....."slow and challenged" the way he hold his head.

  • Oh my god... a Republican showing attention to fiscal responsibility... I thought they were extinct.

    Congrats on 1000!

  • Barack's looking sexy today....Mmmm ;)

  • Change the definition of victory and come home

  • wow. this is really good.

  • congrats on hiting 1000. try to up more of these keep up the good work

  • Awesome job Voinovich. You and Hagel have my trust.

  • Amb. Crocker and Gen. Petraeus are McCain/Bush flunkies. We need a change at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue!

  • Holy shit. A republican that doesn't have his head up his ass and tow the party line?

    How refreshing.

  • Hahhaha Cynical I completely agree---that's why Sen. Hagel is the man! Sen. Voinovich was representing OHIO very well today!!!!!!!!!!

  • McCain adds?? The video brings up legitimate questions.

  • more mccain adds! c'mon Veracifier. i know you get a check for adds and all. but c'mon.
